1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: niceasicminer.com - is it legit? on: December 27, 2022, 01:32:11 PM
Why is it 1 post accounts with the same bad grammar trying to "help" the site or try to push some kind of connection, lmao not sus at all

This "team" is related to alot of websites, some posted below.

https://bareprint.no/
https://zhaksy.com/
https://absone.us/

Looks like a copy paste from several websites with some changes - Same "TEAM" on https://bareprint.no/about/  - > https://www.niceasicminer.com/about/ - > https://zhaksy.com/about/ - > https://absone.us/about/

Like BitMaxz says, just stay away from this obvious scam - unless they are just selling all products that exist  Grin
3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Better efficiency coming to your S19 from Bitmain on: December 21, 2022, 09:23:49 AM
Bitmain released their new firmware for S19J Pro models earlier today.
I installed it on my S19J Pro 104T (has beaglebone board). Here's the side by side comparison of performance between the old FW and the two modes on new FW.

Standard power mode on new FW seems identical to old firmware.
The low power mode does reach the 25.5 W/Th that bitmain promised but lowers hashrate by about 20%.
It runs at fixed frequency,  there's no additional autotuning downtime. The miner boots right up and starts hashing.
Since the miner only pull about 8.7 amps on low power mode, people might be able to squeeze two miners on 20A circuits (I know it breaks the 80% rule, but also know that some people will still do it)
I also ran this test with AMLOGIC control board on the same miner and got identical results for all 3 columns.
If you have a AMLOGIC board on the miner, you don't need to replace it to be able to underclock now.

This new firmware isn't as customizable as Vnish or Braiins, but happy to see Bitmain provide additional options to miners.

Really nice data, thank you.

Do you have any data on dB before and after LPM? Seeing as the fans RPM go down significantly I'm wondering how much change in noise.
4  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: HiveOS VS Braiins on: December 20, 2021, 07:40:59 AM
The 17 series hashboards only monitor the temperature of 4 chips. So if any of the other chips (44 others on an s17) have a poorly attached heatsink, have copper coating delamination on the chip, or just runs hotter because it is not as efficient, you can run into issues if you run it at higher frequencies.  If any of those chips get up to ~140degC the low temp solder holding the heatsinks on will melt. Same thing could happen with an S17pro on stock firmware that runs fine on normal, and then you crank it up to turbo. That is an issue with the hardware and poor quality control during the manufacturing, not with the firmware.

Bitmain is too blame here for poor quality materials, I think I've even seen some data which someone had mentioning up to 30% failrate on S17 miners in general.

So for I've mainly had positive results with braiins atleast for S9's, I'm very excited to see any results from braiins FW tests on S19's. I really hope people share results if so.
5  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / HiveOS VS Braiins on: September 21, 2021, 09:27:08 AM
I see alot of people prefer Braiins over HiveOS and or change from HiveOS too braiins after used, are there any particular reasons Braiins is superior and HiveOS shouldn't be used?
6  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Ultrasonic cleaning hashcards on: January 21, 2021, 02:41:44 PM
We've tested Ultrasonic cleaning on some hashcards and this is our results, fun experiment with good results so far - literally 30 seconds on each side.
Card is currently drying, this card was marked as dead and non functional after 2 test processes (testing and compressor cleaning) - excited to see if it works fine after this method.

Has anyone else tested something similar with some good results?

7  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Supersonic cleaning hashcards on: November 27, 2020, 11:00:07 AM
We have used compressed air, but would like to expand our knowledge on this topic - compressed air just isn't effective and efficient enough. That's why I'd like to hear if anyone had used Ultrasonic cleaning on hashcards.

This is larger scale so compressed air is good but not optimal.

What I'm worried about on e.g S9 hashcards is that the heat sinks would detach from the cards from time to time.
8  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Ultrasonic cleaning hashcards on: November 20, 2020, 02:37:00 PM
Has anyone here ever tried cleaning hashcards or so with Supersonic cleaning unit? I've just recently stumbled upon this and would really like to try, but if anyone has some experience or pictures from before that would be nice.
9  Bitcoin / Mining support / M31S+ 80T - Need measurements on: September 21, 2020, 07:11:24 AM
Alright so I'm currently looking for some confirmation on Whatsminer M31S+ 80T Length + Width + Height, and the type of PSU, I will attach 2 pictures. There's a lot of mixed feelings because NON of the pictures online really tell the physical look of the miner - and I can't seem to find any youtube videos about this particular miner.

Picture 1 - shows a miner with PSU covering all the way to exhaust fan: https://i.imgur.com/Awe04Zb.png

Picture 2 - shows a miner with PSU not going all the way to exhaust fan: https://i.imgur.com/bsUUhD4.png

Does anyone own or have a whatsminer m31s+ 80T, physically? Could you please take a picture and show me if it's picture 1 or 2 which is the official model.
10  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 "Locate" code on: January 30, 2020, 07:53:07 AM
You could use putty, log on to the miner and use the command "poweroff" - the miner will have a static led light, either green/red or non.
11  Economy / Computer hardware / Anyone interested in buying fixable hashcards? on: January 27, 2020, 10:41:26 AM
Are there anyone interested in buying hashcards with broken chip/chips that are fixable, if so what is the price range people are looking for?

Hashcards from Antminer S9's.
12  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Static Red light by SSH (Help) on: August 28, 2019, 12:19:25 PM
Yes, ofcourse with access trough SSH - older firmware.
And also without having to install braiins.

Static "Fault" Led light is what I was thinking if there was any command for this.
13  Bitcoin / Mining support / Static Red light by SSH (Help) on: August 27, 2019, 09:43:03 AM
Is there a command to put static red light by SSH on Antminer S9/s9i ? I've been struggling to figure out.
