6  Economy / Goods / selling my mining rigs (3x 5870, 7x 5850) on: September 09, 2011, 01:01:55 PM
Hey Guys,

heres a list of my hardware:

GPUs (with OVP and PCIe Power Adapters):
2x Asus HD5870
1x Sapphire HD5870
5x Sapphire HD5850 Xtreme
1x Powercolor HD5850 (bought 23.12.2009 with bill from alternate.de)
1x VTX3D HD5850

Mainboards, CPUs, RAM, PSUs:
3x Asrock 870 Extreme3 MoBos (with OVP)
3x AMD Sempron 140 boxed (without OVP)
2x 2GB DDR3-1066 (without OVP)
1x 1GB DDR3-1066 (without OVP)
3x Superflower Golden Green 750W 80+ Gold PSUs (without OVP)

Riser Cards, cases, USB Sticks:
11x PCIe1 -> PCIe1 Riser Cards (modified for PCIe16 usage)
5x PCIe1 -> PCIe16 Riser Cards
3x wooden case
3x 8GB USB2.0 Stick with Ubuntu 10.04, Cat 11.6, AMD APP SDK 2.4, cgminer 1.6.2 and python bithopper (no CPU usage bug)

I will accept BTCs, but because of the unstable course, i announce prices in euros and accept BTCs for the actual exchange rate. I can ship worldwide. Shipping costs depend on country, weight and size. I will ship via DHL. (www.dhl.de)

Pictures and prices for all hardware will be added within the next 3 days. Im too busy with an exam right now for making photos. I will also add purchase dates for all the hardware soon. Nothing is older than 3 months, except the Asus GPUs and the Powercolor.
Everything work fine and nothing went warmer than 72 C. I got about 4 Gigahash/s from all the stuff and it used 1850 W power at 26 C room temperature. The PSUs are extreme efficient.

For a small price of 2 BTCs i reset the OS passwords, delete my accounts and write a manual how you can use the sticks. They are well configured and start mining without any User Interactions. You can monitor everything via SSH and the pool hopper web interface. You just have to add your own pools and accounts into 2 files and can start mining.
Otherwise i will clean the sticks.

Feel free to contact me for further details and make me serious offers.
7  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Sorry to burst your bubble but... on: September 05, 2011, 05:59:39 PM
Just one little question. AMDs cards are the only ones which are good for mining. So without any competitors, why should they notice us?

We will buy their cards or don't mine...
8  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Why 9-month payoffs are still foolish on: September 03, 2011, 07:13:08 PM
Even if you're comparing your mining return to interest at a bank (which, admittedly, is quite low), it's still silly to buy cards that won't pay off for 9 or more months.

Besides the usual argument, "Bitcoin could be $3 in a few months!" which no one can really refute...

What if the 7000 series cards have a much better stream processor count?  Another thread mentioned them having *double* the stream processors. That's only a rumor, of course, but what if something like that happened? Does any of us know what the 7000 will bring? Isn't it prudent to wait until the details have been released, before sinking one's savings into 6990s?

Those who *didn't* buy cards with a long payout will be in a better position, because they can buy the 7000 series cards and keep up with the difficulty increases that will no doubt ensue.

Those already "invested" in $500 5970's and 6990s will have to watch their returns diminish, and won't have as much capital (or free slots) for 7000 series cards as everyone else.

So there are many things to consider when you go "all in" at this point.

When are you gonna stop discouraging people from mining and/or increasing theu hash rates by bringing online new cards?

Your posts are so predictable and very consistent! Smiley

This doesnt change the fact, that he is right Wink

10  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Board with most PCIe slots. x1, x4, x8 or x16. on: August 31, 2011, 07:19:44 AM
MSI BigBang Marshal has 8 PCIe16 slots. I dont know if there are any cheaper boards with 8 slots.
11  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: MULTIPLE RIGS on: August 30, 2011, 09:51:53 AM
Hi,

what OS do you want to use. It looks like you want to use windows. I would suggest Ubuntu, if you feel safe enough to use it.
Otherwise you should use remote software to control the rigs. Its cheaper than buying KWM switches.

12  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Mining with Old Hardware? on: August 19, 2011, 10:28:41 PM
and if you dont have any PCI-Express Slots free, just buy a quad core, which will be much faster than all these cards together.

It is possible to run code on such GPUs, but it is not easy and I bet, that there arent any miners available for these card.
13  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: portable mining rig to take to work on: August 14, 2011, 08:20:40 PM
Yeah this case is damn good.

Back to the Idea:
This is bullshit, you can only handle such amount of heat in a small case with water cooling. I would also suggest not to invest into Bitcoin mining, unless you have the knowlegde and could throw the money away without any pain.

It is not a stable investment and if you really calculate your hourly wage, it isnt worth it. The reason why i mine bitcoins is because im a nerd. I love to build stupid fast computers and let them run. Cheesy My boss knows what im talking about. He got a 100000 dollar bill from running Jugene for about an hour Cheesy.
14  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Solo mining :( on: August 13, 2011, 07:29:14 AM
Congratz. I found my first block 5 days ago. I mine with 4,5 Ghash/s for 2 months now. Thats theory of propabilities Cheesy
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: First power bill inclusive of 24/7 mining rigs... on: August 12, 2011, 06:03:16 PM
I use about 2,1 kw/h which gets me a monthly bill of nearly 400 $.

And the server seems to have problems with calculating payouts.
Watch payout statistics for block 108.

I will change my pool. Its okay to have a big variance, but if i dont get money for short blocks ...
17  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5850 xtreme on: August 09, 2011, 12:33:16 PM
without overvolting, i can use the xtreme 5850 with 900,300 mhz at 368 Mh/s. In my case the temperature is 62 - 67C with 80% fan speed. Card runs one month 24/7 without any problems now.
18  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Official CGMINER thread - CPU/GPU miner in C for linux/windows/osx on: July 29, 2011, 04:10:52 PM
Hi there,

my cgminer crashes, if my primary pool goes offline. Is there a problem with the pool switch algorithm? In the Pool Menu i see all 3 pools as active, and i can switch manually to all of them.

I would like to see a manage worker feature, where i can rename, delete and sort workers. Are there any plans for this feature?
