1  Other / Beginners & Help / Having trouble mining in Ubuntu on: June 21, 2011, 07:11:39 AM
I'm trying to get a miner working in ubuntu, I'm almost a complete gnu/linux noob. I probably shouldnt have switched from windows, but does anyone know of some really good, clear, simple guides for 11.04? I have two 6870s.

What kind of power suppy do you have? Also, you may need to up your voltage on the cards to compensate for the increased clock speeds.

corsair 750TX, I read that people run it at 1020 core at stock voltage, and I tried up to like 1.22v but couldnt get past 990 mhz.

I'm having a lot of trouble, it's quite frustrating. Almost always when I OC my cards, pheonix and guiminer both make my comp freeze, I dont understand, can someone give me a reference overclock for a 6870 with like 300 mhash/s? Im just having so much trouble with msi afterburner, I changed the registry thing and added those lines to msi afterburner's .cfg
