1  Other / Meta / Re: Why are mod not locking long threads on the gambling board discussion anymore on: Today at 01:32:43 AM
Why would you want to lock a thread that people are enjoying participating in? Would you rather for example that everyone posting their bets in the NBA gambling thread instead make a new thread every day with their bets? Or each person having their own gambling thread they restart after 5 pages? That would be lunacy.

Perhaps he was referring to Mega threads in gambling, 30+ pages of discussions and it seems that everyone is just repeating themselves or trying to post something base on their experiences recently.

But the rule of thumb here is that just report it to the moderator and see if they are going to take action or not.

Just don't forget about this tweet though,

https://x.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1149472282584072192?lang=en

In short he calls Bitcoin as a scam, so why the sudden change of stance here?
Obviously, it's election time, gals and guys, others might argue that this is not a political statement, but still coming from a President and then suddenly make a U-turn statement to suddenly accepts LN for his campaign donation? You have to think twice American voters.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: June 04, 2024, 11:03:54 PM
Who else can relate?
I really can relate to this, waiting for the NBA finals to start. Since Mavericks versus Boston Celtics is an exciting match for this finals.
I believe there will be some sleepless nights for some countries as the times of the games are different for some countries.

I voted for the Boston Celtics, and as much as I love the Mavs specially with Luka doing everything this playoff, I'm seeing that the Celtics has so much power here and their bench is deep as well and they have a good defensive presence with Holiday and White taking turns in guarding Luka and Kyrie. The Mavs though might have a advantage on the middle, but KP is coming back in the series and you can't discount the veteran Al Horford who also has a outside shooting and he can bring out one big man if he stays in the perimeter. And throughout the regular seasons, they've seen in all, switches, screens and they've won most of the game.

Just a matter of who is going to win the finals MVP. If Luka perform very well just like in the Wolves series, who knows, maybe we will get a MVP from a losing team.
And the Celtics has been in the finals before and they've experience failures, maybe they will channel their energy again and doesn't want to felt that disappointment.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: June 04, 2024, 10:39:21 PM
WBC already releases their statement as they are the governing body or at least the belt that was on the line during this fight although Haney retain his belt because of Ryan's going over the limit of 140 lbs in this fight.

Quote
“In the meantime, the WBC has continued to investigate the pharmacological characteristics of Ostarine, the details of the tests’ results that led to the adverse findings, and any other explanation that might relate to the adverse findings.

“The WBC will continue to provide updates of the process it is undertaking as additional information becomes available.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/wbc-requests-more-information-from-ryan-garcia-continuing-investigation--184018

Not sure though what kind of characteristics they are looking at. Ostarine has been ban for many years by VADA and has been in their list of testing regardless of how minute it is, they are going to find it in your system and it seems that they are the foremost experts obviously and their test are really that realible.

Boston Celtics look favourite according to the odds now. However I don't trust Jayson Tatum in the playoffs much. He can really play very badly from time to time. I see Dallas Mavericks as the favourite in the final series in the lead of Doncic and Irving.  Smiley  When Irving joined last year I really had doubts about whether he would be a coherent duo with Doncic. You know how much Irving likes to play individually too. But they have made a great duo.

They should be the favorite, they are the best team, with the best record in the regular games, and then they dominated their opponents in the playoff. They also have the winning records against the Mavericks so we shouldn't be surprised as why they are the favorite in this series. They have the best duo in Tatum and Brown but I think Luka and Kyrie is not far behind. And as far as defense in the back court, the Celtics have Jrue Holiday and Derrick White earned spots on the All-Defensive 2nd Team so they will be match against the back court tandem of Kyrie and Luka.

But then the Mavs have Lively, Gafford in the center position. KP is coming off a injury so we really haven't seen him that much in the playoff and we don't know if he will be back at his form. Al Horford is too small to man the center position against this two. And I'm seeing that either Lively or Gafford might average double doubles in this series. But still I think the Celtics has the deeper bench here, and Tatum finding his rhythm.

But I'm predicting that the Celtics might win the NBA championship this year with a 4-2 score.

So why is everyone surprise though?

Mt. Gox trustee Nobuaki Kobayashi has released a statement prior to the movement. And this is in preparation of the repayment this October 2024. And with that it's seems that there are no postponed as historically, we have see a lot already and it's about time that Nobuaki Kobayashi pay all it's creditors.

9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 28, 2024, 10:17:30 PM
Yeah, congratulations to Jaylen as well for winning the conference MVP. I thought that it's Jayson Tatum that will get it.
Tatum was the favorite to win but it was Brown who had a better contribution in the series, so he deserve that. Actually, like that as we can clearly see that these two best players of the team are having great games, which means the chemistry is really good.

However, just look at this reality.

1st round beat the Miami (less Butler)
2nd round beat the Cavaliers (less Mitchell)
ECF beat the Pacers ( less haliburton)..

Their journey really is quite easy, but can they beat a healthy team like the Dallas Mavericks?

Dallas is not that 100% healthy, Lively could be out and Luka is still limping and we can see that in the last game. But still he gave everything for a 3-0 lead. But we shouldn't take anything from Boston though, and that's why they have 4-1 score against Miami/Cavs and 4-0 against Haliburton.

Even if Butler/Mitchell/Haliburton is healthy, I think the Celtics will still continue to win that series but perhaps the score could be much closer and not almost a sweep.

Now they are just waiting for their opponents, and as what we are seeing, with the Mavs leading 3-0, this could be the first time for Luka to go and move in the finals and gave this franchise another chance to win a NBA title.

Luka has been carrying that injury since the OKC series, so I think he is fine. My concern is Lively; he is out in Game 4, but hopefully, he'll be back for the NBA Finals if Dallas ends the series today. I'm not saying the Celtics won't win even with healthy opponents, it's just that they have had an easy route to the finals because their opponents missed their star players.

Dallas vs. Celtics, I can say it's a 50-50 game, although sportsbooks would offer odds that favor the Celtics as the favorite to win the series. That's why I like to back Dallas. I am impressed with their defense; everyone plays hard, and I think they deserve a championship.

If ever that Dallas will end the series today it would be interesting to see if which team will win the title,  both are deserving after reaching the finals, and as per my opinion,  aside from luka and Kylie, JT and JB also hunger for the title both young superstars are really aiming for this a second time that they'll reached the finals hoping that it will be their time now, though still not done in terms of west finalist still got game to finish for the Mavs after the game or after it's completed then that's the best time to discuss the potential of who will be crown for this seasons Champ!

It boils down as who will be the healthier and hungrier team, the team that wants the championship more than the other. JT though is not his usual offensive, missed his outside shots in the series against Pacers and it was really Brown, so he deserves to get the vote as the MVP.

On the other hand, look at the Mavs, their mentality of their leader, Luka and Kyrie, it's contagious, and there are still players who we haven't seen getting their numbers Josh Green or Exum which could also help the Mavs against the Boston Celtics. But I do agree, Lively is a great rookie, but if he is injured against the series in Boston for the finals, it will be a big loss for the Mavs.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Errol Spence vs Sebastian Fundora - Oct on: May 28, 2024, 12:38:49 AM

Errol is almost as soft as Devin Haney being exposed, all the time in their career they were just fighting low-level boxers playing numbers for their boxing records but when they are matched to someone just right where their skillset level, they fold in the ring.

Fundora is also the same but after fighting Tszyu, he proved himself. I think Fundora will battle Spence to the ground.

I wouldn't say that Errol is soft though, I mean he had belts at 147 lbs although I do agree that there are signs that he might not be as good as what others projected when he had difficult time beating Porter and then Ugas rock him and almost knock him out.

For Fundora, it's hard to discount this guy, he was knockout in his previous fight and others dismissed him as Tszyu was a formidable boxer and touted to be the next big name at 154 lbs. But he spoils everything for him as he won in a messy and bloody fight. Very hard to see how this fight goes as it will all depends on what version of Spence is going to show in this fight. And if Fundora shows the heart like in the Tszyu fight, then Spence will be in big trouble.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: May 26, 2024, 08:55:17 AM
I mean of course you are right, I just meant that I honestly did not expected to see that at all, even at training. Plus, this is Mike Tyson we are talking about dude is one of the greatest of all time to do this, so not like we are talking about some has been, so I feel like those punches having some heavy throws behind it, could actually be true during the fight itself as well.

I think you are right that stamine will be his biggest issue, dude hasn't been training this much for decades probably, there was a point where he used cane to walk, so it's true that he may not be able to fight that long. Long story short, I just believe that we either will see Mike land one of those punches, and Jake would be hospitalized Cheesy or we are going to see a draw, but there is absolutely zero chance Jake could ever knock out Mike.
Mike most likely tried to work to the maximum more than once in training and understands how many rounds he can withstand and at what pace, so if there are problems with endurance, then I think he will try not to drag out the fight for too long. About Jake’s endurance, too, not everything is so good, he is not a professional, I’m sure that he care for himself in training, he is an amateur and loves himself too much to work to the limit in training. I agree that it is very difficult to start all over again, and if you finished your career and did not train properly, then this is exactly the case when you start all over again.

But age is still a big difference here in terms of stamina, not saying that Mike is not going to train in this arena, but as we tend to get older our body's lung capacity deteriorate as well and with Mike's wear and tear, his gas tank is questionable.

In terms of power though, he has natural gift, God given talent, so I think that favors him and if order for him to win this fight, he should go and look for a early knockout. Because as the fight goes on and drag for the full fight, Mike might get tired and Jake Paul winning on the latter rounds and the judges giving him this win.
12  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does addicted gamblers only lose money all the time on: May 26, 2024, 12:03:40 AM
I feel so bother and that is why I decided to ask this question.

We keep talking about gambling addiction and how bad it is to become addicted, does it mean that addicted gamblers lose money all the time? Do you means those guys doesn't win anything at all? Can they not be lucky to win jackpots?

On this board, we are always referring addiction as a terrible thing but does it mean that those addicted gamblers doesn't win money, are they only bounded to losses upon losses?

No, they become addicted because they could have win big and wanted to replicated it and have that same feeling. So it's a cycle, you win huge money and jackpot today, but then you don't stop and come back the very next day, and then what happens? You lost everything including your capital.

And then you go back again, with another money and play the same game over and hope that again, be a big winner. Later, you can't control yourself anymore, and you don't know that you are now falling into the gambling addiction and now it's harder to quit.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deontay Wilder Vs Zhilei Zhang JUNE 1 Heavyweight on: May 25, 2024, 11:33:52 PM
LOL, Parker beat them all, it was an upset on Wilder but Parker proven himself that he is on another level.

It's because Parker has some movement and being technical in my opinion, and he was able to stay there enough and although he was hit, it didn't damage him and so he just boxes his way out for a win.

Deontay Wilder 38 years old, while Zhilei Zhang is over at 41 years old.
This should be a great fight for both, I'm sure we will see another exciting fight as Wilder will try to come back, but unfortunately he doesn't have the ability to last in the fight, so he needs to be more aggressive, hit a good shot and  knockout Zhilei Zhang in the early rounds.

I'm seeing that if this fight will go distance, it's for Zhang, if it ends in 6 rounds or less, it's for Wilder.

Zhang's gas tank could be in question in, and if it goes to distance, maybe he will be out of gas and gets tired and maybe that's what Wilder could exploit specially in the championship rounds. Wilder should look at the tapes on how Parker beat Zhang and maybe he tries to go and outbox him and just cover up to avoid Zhang's power and jab too and then try to bring his power as well in the table and make Zhang uncomfortable early.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: May 24, 2024, 12:03:41 AM
I will be taking the +9.5 for Indiana Pacers, in game 1 they didn't disappoint us and they even have a good chance to steal Game 1 from the Boston Celtics.
I'm seeing a different scenario in this game, I felt that the celtics will make a huge adjustment as they gave up too many points in game 1. The defense was lost, I mean, they are a good defensive team especially at home, so while everyone is probably riding the hype of what happened in game 1, I going to the opposite direction as i think this will be a blowout win by the Celtics, additionally, I'm talking the under as well.

Same here, I'm feeling that the Celtics will not make this game close as Game 1 and so they will make some adjustments like playing defense and not allowing the Pacers easy scoring here.

With that I'm going to bank on Boston here at -7.5 @1.75 before the game. It's possible that they can cover this spread if the right adjustments are going to be made by them in this game. And they will still be led by Tatum and Brown. I'm just contemplating as who will be the MVP in the Eastern conference between this two Celtics.

So goodluck to all bettors.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The difference between gamblers and real Bitcoin investors? on: May 23, 2024, 01:41:48 PM
If you ask me, what is the hardest job? Then perhaps my answer will be the investment profession. It is a truly unique and harsh profession compared to other professions. Especially with Bitcoin and a volatile market like cryptocurrency.

Perhaps what you meant is that a trader as a profession? As far as investment goes, it's easy, you just buy and wait when you are going to sell it and make profits.

You will see that every area of life (sports, education, business, music, academics...) is a competition for rankings. But investing is completely different, it's not about how much money you make compared to those around you, it's a very unique profession, when what you fight for and win is not with others who join the market that is yourself. Win over yourself.

I think you make your life complicated with that kind of mentality or mindset. Yeah, you might see it as competition, but nevertheless, if you want to compete then it should be against yourself and not compare what you have done or accomplished with others.

Restless and waiting are two opposite things, and are also what help us distinguish between a true Bitcoin investor and a gambler.

The difference is that you when gamble, you don't have total control of the outcome. But as least if you trade, you can mitigate your risk by using the principle of stop-loss.

18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 18th MAY 2024 re-scheduled on: May 16, 2024, 11:43:05 PM
Both the open workouts and the press conference today were pretty boring. Tyson choose not to even look at Usyk during the face off today. Not sure why as that's usually seen as sign of weakness.

It is just me or Fury looks slim in this fight? Or maybe he just shave his beard that's why he look slim?
Tyson Fury definitely looks trim in his training photos that were released recently and he looked both focused and determined but if he stands any chance to beat a fully fit Usyk he will have to be at his 100% best because nothing else will do. Also, I think the same applies to Usyk too because if he stands any chance of beating a fully fit Fury he will have to be at his 100% best.

If both are 100% at their best it might have to be settled by the scorecard judges.

He's lost a lot of weight for sure, but I don't know whether that's the right plan for him. He should try use that extra weight to his advantage by weighing down Usyk in the clinch, unless he's burnt it off doing cardio trying to get his stamina up which he will need as Usyk can go the full distance with ease and even ups the pace throwing more punches in the last rounds.

It was interesting to see the way Usyk reacted after the headbutting incident on a member of his team. He was literally focused on nothing except the fight and he does not like to get involved with trash-talking or creating a scene to attract attention on himself. I think both boxers are way beyond the psychological game stage, they just want to get in the ring and try to win.

Uysk and his team are consummate professionals and they do not react to all the shenanigans. Tyson now knows he can't get in Usyk's head so he's changed up his gameplan. He's also started hyping him up saying he going to be his hardest opponent and how much he respects him, but I only think he's saying this stuff cos if he loses it looks bad on him.

Perhaps though Tyson Fury that there might not be any clinch at all as Usyk is going to expect it. So he goes light try to used his feet more against a agile boxer, but it could backfire on him as obviously Usyk has more movement.

Or their plan will go to box Usyk and uses Fury's length and jab and hope that he can land that one big punch and then see how Usyk will react or how his chin is going to hold up against Fury's power if he landed that flush on the chin. And with that, I'm expecting more feints by Fury to see how Usyk will react.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 09, 2024, 12:43:13 AM
The fine that was given to Jamal Murray is $100k for that heat pack thrown on the floor. IMHO, they should have suspended him for the remaining games.
A suspension may have been handed down if it was some role player who did that. Maybe part of the decision to just fine him is that nobody actually got hurt. If the NBA could not suspend the like of Draymond for kicking balls then they cannot suspend Murray for throwing things on the floor.
That makes sense.

For the other known players that have done crazy things too, they're just fined. They've probably got metrics on who's going to be suspended and who's going to be just fined.

Anyway, that really made Murray pissed when he's guarded and doubled by the Timberwolves. They know how weak he is mentally and sure Finch will do the same tactic on their next meeting.

And unless the player really push the button of the NBA, they won't simply put heavy penalties for the superstars in the league. Murray doesn't have history of being dirty though and perhaps that is also taken into account.

But I do agree, it players how has precedent already like Draymond Green, not just hefty fines, he could even be suspended even if it is playoff time. So we can say that NBA are someone favoring certain players and it's very obvious in the case of Jamal Murray here.
