What is Terranium? You really like forums don't you? It is the second one you create within a week. Please tell us about this new project of yours. It is nice to see you have already improved and make the privacy terms ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Yeah I grew up around forums but a lot of them had closed down, and depression got the best of me ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) . EthereumTalk is a domain I know I can sell but I thought I could turn it in to something but setting up a ethereum forums with hardly any knowledge is not a good start for a project. But anyway. A terrarium is like an aquarium, but for plants instead of fish. It is made in just about any glass container.

So my last topic got shut down due to it most probably being a competitor site, and now I am starting this project up https://terrariumforums.netI might host competitions to winners in Crypto currency for the best looking Terrarium.

i closed down this project because its not one for me.
That's unfortunate, can you give us reasons why you are closing it down, you have a good domain and you are targeting a good projects that will soon become a top cryptocurrency I'm not saying that you should continue, but what made you decide it's not for you, in the first place what made you decide to put up this project. My knowledge of coding is limited I got everything set up and thought there was no bugs, turns out no one could get past the profile bit. I'm a big fan of bitcointalk (i also have tallkbitcoin.net and talkbitcoins.net) and how far they have come, I remember when it first open a lot of people flooded the forums. i closed down this project because its not one for me.
A successful project always requires countless hours of hard working, study, etc. If you think it is not for you, that you don't have the natural aptitude for it, it is best to move on. I can put in hours but is it really worth it. is it my time. do I carry on with it even if my life a flop (that's what it feels like in my head). That's unfortunate, can you give us reasons why you are closing it down, you have a good domain
I agree, this is certainly a good domain name. I don't follow ethereum dev community and I don't know where they hang out, but I don't know any big ethereum forum. Reddit maybe? official ethereum.org is mostly desert. Depression and when I saw the domain I had to buy it being a long time lurker on bitcointalk but never registered just learnt a lot from reading on here. i closed down this project because its not one for me.
That was a quick one. By the way, the domain name is pretty slick. There isn't another ethereumtalk that comes up in google search. For that matter, this too doesn't come up yet on the first page. I thought something more along the lines of this forum for ethereum was a good idea. Especially if someone can get the original people onboard for it. Would you care to take some time to share what prompted you to go for it and then drop it. These are often learning experiences and I personally would love to learn from yours. I know it can be difficult to sustain side projects if you have other occupations. A first hand experience on what difficulties you faced in terms of lack of time, money or knowledge to build this. Hope, Hype, and just motivation comes in but I get to a point then... I just flop. Because I really have no support (that what it feels like) and lack of knowledge. I don't really do anything with my time I have no structure to daily bases I suffer with several mental health problems but i'm trying. Also the data if I was to create something long term I want to be sure everyone is safe.

I do need help with that part. This is Version 1.0 of EthereumTalk, I plan on adding some more features over time, and your right I would like a first- mover advantage on the domain. Skip it and add it when it loads up I will work on that later.
You should shut down registration until you get terms and a privacy policy on your site. Just done that. I do need help with that part. This is Version 1.0 of EthereumTalk, I plan on adding some more features over time, and your right I would like a first- mover advantage on the domain. Skip it and add it when it loads up I will work on that later.
This is like sign a blank check. You should shut down registration until you get terms and a privacy policy on your site.
This is the right thing to do. No privacy policy is very unprofessional, and it really looks like you don't give a damn about the user's data you will have to handle. Usually, people in crypto currencies communities really care about privacy. Take a look at the privacy policy of bitcoin talk for example. It will give you some directions https://bitcointalk.org/privacy.phpMaybe you could help out at all and help with the progress.

There is a "terms and conditions" clause but they are not defined. So users will just be ticking them off without knowing what they are. Its not moving past the "Add profile pic" frame though. There isn't any intro before you make a profile. So it seems like you are just trying to get this up and running ASAP to have some sort of first-mover advantage on that domain name. Lets see if that profile actually goes through. Maybe then we can see what the insides are about. It still needs work and testing. Good Luck. I do need help with that part. And I see a blank screen with this URL : https://ethereumtalk.net/.well-known/captcha/ I rarely browse sites from my regular browsers unless I trust the site to some degree. The blank screen is because of using the Tor browser? I'm going try to make it better so I deleted that post.

So are you looking to hire people, or are you looking for volunteers? If it's the latter, what do they get out of it?
There's far too many people trying to solicit free labour on this forum, so it would need to be something truly special to be worth the hassle.
You didn't paint a convincing picture with your opening post that's for sure.
Yes but for a fixed priced a fortnight (don't know how much but something we can arrange upon but who ever helps will still earn something nothing crazy though) this was more of a hobby forum where I would jot down idea's. Also a place to get to meet new people who have the same interests if anyone was to register (my writing and grammar skills ain't the best and I am kind of dyslectic but have many other skills and never give up) so I ain't had the best of luck. I just can't find anyone who has interest on a forum starting from scratch. Yeah that's sometimes a problem I have is wording my self. The project is a specific technology discussion board but I plan on doing a few things different, Ethereum has a native cryptocurrency called Ether (ETH). ETH is digital money. If you’ve heard of Bitcoin, ETH has many of the same features. It is purely digital, and can be sent to anyone anywhere in the world instantly! But you all ready knew that (just saying for the people who don't know) But unlike any other blockchains, Ethereum can do much more. Ethereum is programmable, which means that developers can use it to build new kinds of applications. (and i'm thinking with the right people on board, and over time I can attract a few MyBB plugin developers to develop something creative the team of EthereumTalk can discuss together).
So your target audience is people new to the crypto world? Yes and no, the main reason behind finding all useful information regarding ethereum for beginners is SEO like I mention before it's to do with the smart way of SEO.

I won't tell you everything I am going to do but with the right members onboard we can scale this project far! I am really good at SEO and ranking on SERP and ALEXA, including high ranking backlinks.
As Vod said, there are many already established communities around. I have some reasonable knowledge about ethereum and I would like to hear about your project. You didn't mentioned anything about your project, just very very basic Ethereum concepts which are not new here. Actually, everyone hear is already tired of reading so many people repeating what you said. Hi bitmover the project will be starting off with focusing on content and anything related to Ethereum we need it posted, helping people understand Ethereum, and how everything works is what I am after just so I can get ethereumtalk place in google. (the SEO campaign is smart). I know a few MyBB developers that can do a few things with Ethereum Technology I really don't want to go in to much depth but it revolves predictions and a game, with the plugin newpoints (which members can earn points for posting which can be cashed out for a small Eth exchange. I am a long way off from this point, but with the right people to get things moving and attraction going it can be good going for who ever joins this).

Can you tell us what the project is, or even the domain name?
If you're just planning on launching a very specific technology discussion board, you have a long battle ahead from many established communities.

Hello there and thanks in-advance for reading this! I am kind of new here but have been a lurker for years but never thought of registering until now has I wanted to do something of my own, you can call me Ricki or Rick by the way! Today I have started a new project I will be working on closely! I have got the domain, and paid for a year hosting and done a few bits and bobs, but I have now come to a stand still, I don't know what else to add, content is not a problem as that will follow over space of time, and hopefully I can find some partners who have interested in this to help take this project further.
The Forum is running off the forum software MyBB, with a premium theme from WallBB.
Get in touch, drop me with a PM on with your discord or something.
