the only problem with zombie mode is that you need a gen 3 PCIE and cannot use risers...

It will be nice if it works on gen 2 pci-e
It does work on PCI-E Gen 2. But you can't rely on risers and low lanes slots, true. A x16 PCI-E Gen 2 slot would perform equally well as a x8 PCI-E Gen 3 slot.

Son benchmarks on a 580 4G on epoch 500, that is more than 1 is still 7 mh/s ...
That means the Zombie Mode will be for a long while... At the moment is the most profitable solution connected  in MOBO for a 4Gb Cards with 24-25Mhs
I wondered about the viability of Zombie mode as well. I ran a few tests on a Radeon 7970 (3GB) at epoch 254 it would do 25mh/s. Unfortunately zombie mode seems not be to implemented for 3GB cards, at least in my case once i raise the epoch further the hashrate would be 0mh/s. I'd reckon by your results it would still offer something in the range of 5-10mh/s. Of course it may be smarter to mine altcoins with a lower epoch.

KingsGroup.IT, since your original question isn't resolved yet, you could try to do the following to find out what Nicehash is doing differently:
Start mining and get a tool like Process Explorer (it's from a Microsoft MVP so it can be trusted if you have second thoughts) and rightclick the lolminer process and select Properties. Under "Command line" you should see the full config they used to start mining. If they use a config file, track it down with its path. I dunno whether Nicehash does this, if it runs lolMiner with admin privileges you need to run Process Explorer with admin privileges as well to get this information.

Probably not related, but I found when mining Beam on a R9 290 on Windows 10, it makes a difference to set lolMiner to enable Compute Mode. I didn't observe any influence of compute mode on mining Zhash on the 290 or the 7970 though so I doubt that is it.

I still hope lolliedieb will look into what I posted earlier here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4724735.msg56572776#msg56572776, would be really cool to be able to mine Beam on Tahiti cards.

I always recommend

:loop
lolMiner.exe -a !ALGO! --pers !PERSONALIZATION! --pool !POOL! --user !WALLET!
timeout 10
goto loop
This won't help KingsGroup.IT though but it is an improvement if you want to keep the miner up after crashes.

KingsGroup.IT, can you post the output of lolMiner.exe --list-devices? I still suspect it's somehow not using both GPUs properly. Also you mentioned Nicehash, do they use lolMiner or a different miner for Zhash? I know they used to use various 3rdparty miners but I never really liked their auto-switching so I preferred to setup miners manually even when mining on Nicehash.

does anyone understand how nicehash does it?
os = Win 10 x64
Can you post the commandline you use? (exclude the wallet address for privacy) And did you look at the output with the --list-devices option?

How does nicehash get +45 sol (algo Zhash) with a AMD HD7990 GPU using lol miner 1.21?
I downloaded this original version from gihub and... starting it... gives me a maximum of 21 sol.. with the exact same gpu.
how does nicehash do?
To me this looks like you are only mining on one of the two GPUs of this dual GPU card. As I posted yesterday, I can get 24sol/s on a single of these GPUs (at 950/1500 clocks with the timing mod). So when properly set up to run on both GPUs that sounds feasible. Look at the output of ./lolMiner --list-devices.

Lolliedieb,
would it be possible to add GCN1 support for Beam-III? I saw the kernel requires 3G memory which would be sufficient on Tahiti cards (7950, 7970, 7990, 280, 280X) but the algo seems not to be supported on this architecture. Beam-II seems to work and a 950/1500 clocked 7970 does 12sol/s. I can also mine Zhash at 24sol/s. I managed to setup the card on Ubuntu 20.04 using amdgpu drivers and the amdgpu-pro OpenCL runtime in headless mode which works despite AMD saying this card is no longer supported. It also works on Windows in the mentioned algorithms but I specifically tried on Linux due to the GPU memory usage.

Pastebin with outputs of benchmark runs for Beam-II, Beam-III and the clinfo output: https://pastebin.com/uSxN32RX

Hi, sorry i missed your message.
1.9.4 is just a quick patch for Haven, and yes i probably screw up some things.. Im not maintaining the CN version anymore, just wanted to give an option for XHV miners who want to continue using SRBMiner.
For all the rest algorithms just use 1.9.3 version.
No worries.

That's what I assumed as well. The question is, since it was just a quick patch, how much work would it be for you to get it working on those older GCN cards again? Some of them would still be viable in XHV, especially with cheap power.

doktor83,

sorry for bugging once again, but please respond to the issue about SRBMiner-CN 1.9.4 I reported here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5190081.msg54900572#msg54900572

SRBMiner-CN 1.9.4 is still the fastest option on some CN altcoins that are somewhat viable on older hardware so it would be sad to lose this option.

After upgrading to SRBMiner-CN 1.9.4 I get CL_COMPILE_PROGRAM_FAILURE on a Radeon 290 and the miner exits afterwards. With 1.9.3 everything worked fine. I tried to mine Haven but when I try to run other algorithms I get the same error on 1.9.4. I use the 20.4.2 WHQL driver on Windows 10 if that matters.

Oh and I replied here as the update was announced here. I wonder if discussion regarding SRBMiner-CN should rather go to its own thread.
