1  Economy / Exchanges / Paper Bitcoin wallet "with" ATM? on: February 17, 2022, 05:27:13 PM
Well hello boys and girls!

What are the options for turning a paper Bitcoin wallet with 2 QR codes into cash at a bitcoin ATM without first moving the funds to a digital wallet?

The idea is to create a paper Bitcoin wallet, put bitcoin into it at a Bitcoin ATM, and then redeem it for cash in the future at a second Bitcoin ATM, without using an online wallet that could potentially expose my personal information. Or something like that.
Is that possible?

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin dump, Ethereum pump! on: September 24, 2021, 01:51:07 PM
It is impossible to predict the future of the market and the price of crypto-assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Some will say that their value will rise, some say that their value will fall, but not much can be predicted when it comes to these digital currencies.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are both highly speculative assets that cannot be used as a currency globaly because they lack legal support. They are both volatile and volatile assets cannot be used as currency and often lose half their value, or more in just a few days. Until the level of speculative investing in crypto-assets grows and become more mainstream, it is difficult to predict where their value will go in the future.
3  Economy / Speculation / New (old) FUD coming from China? on: September 24, 2021, 01:32:17 PM
Another wave of Bitcoin FUD is coming from China as the Chinese central bank claimed that local state agencies have improved tools to fight against crypto transactions more effectively.

Quote
The Chinese government is getting more serious about cracking down on the cryptocurrency industry as state authorities are bringing forces to combat crypto operations in the country.

The People’s Bank of China (PBoC) officially announced on Friday a set of new measures to fight against crypto adoption in China, including promoting stronger inter-departmental coordination in cracking down crypto activity.

Can this negatively affect the price of Bitcoin or has the market already reacted to it because it is old news?

create a decent number of price predictions and at some point you're going to get at least one of them right. The typical market fortune teller.

although proudhon history tells that he's far from "typical market fortune teller", since all his predictions seem to be proven wrong sooner or later.

You're right, he is probably one of the worst market fortune tellers.
I'm just curious to know what upset him so much that he's so hostile?  Wink

Probably should prepare my "will not be able to stay above $30k..." thread by the looks of it.

proudhon you should probably prepare your "will not be able to stay above $30k $40k..." thread by the looks of it.

11  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price of bitcoin may go bull soon on: July 28, 2021, 10:30:34 AM
Despite what some might think, I do believe bitcoin will see another bull season. It's just that it will likely be a period where the price rebounds from around $1,000 to maybe $2,500. But then after that it'll keep trending toward $0.

LOL! I can assure you that won't happen.
(Yup, my crystal ball confirms this)
12  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: EUROMANIA 2020 - 1 mBTC contest, 3 BTC prize fund with more than 600 winners! on: July 13, 2021, 11:39:41 AM
So, according to what I can tell, at least three people guessed the correct result (condition specified)
The other outcomes that were predicted can't be called incorrect, and we already described why, and participants of our previous game agreed to that.

How is it possible to recognize a penalty result as an accurate prediction (without condition specified) and completely ignore the result of the whole match (with overtime)? By that twisted logic you should recognize my 0-1 prediction because that was the correct result at the end of the first half.  Grin
I don't even want to mention those 2-1 (regular time + penalties round) ... Where did you see such a way of scoring? Certainly not in football.

No bookmaker in the entire industry would accept these results as accurate predictions, and that is a fact. Like I said, no wonder your casino faces so many scam accusations if that's the way you run your business.
13  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: EUROMANIA 2020 - 1 mBTC contest, 3 BTC prize fund with more than 600 winners! on: July 13, 2021, 10:02:28 AM
I was the first one to guess the correct result (1-1 specified after 90'min), but you leave me out of the winner list?
Instead you include several 2-1 which has little to do with the actual result.
Disappointing to say the least

LOL!
1xbit_official is this a joke?

Let me quote your rules:
The rules are simple:
- guess the score of the mentioned game
- get 1 mBTC

5 first people to guess correctly will get the prize.
If no people guessed, we divide the reward among the closest predictions!

All possible overtimes included (with penalties) unless a condition specified.

So, according to what I can tell, at least three people guessed the correct result (condition specified), but you didn't credit any of them? Instead, you choose arbitrary predictions that have nothing to do with the actual outcome of the match.

It's embarrassing to see you people can't even run a simple contest right. No wonder your casino faces so many scam accusations!  Cheesy Cheesy

Bitcoin will not be able to stay below $35k for 10 consecutive days ever again!  Cheesy

Do you have any sauces for that? Un-sauced rumours are not allowed on this subform as the could mislead newbies into buying BTC at all time highs. The hash rate drop has proven that Chinese miners all know BTC will never never recover.

Nah, just math, science and shit.

And btw, "my posts are not investment advice" Grin

18  Other / Meta / Re: Signature spam - how to force users to read before replying? on: June 23, 2021, 03:47:32 PM
When I came here, I noticed that a lot of members were opening up new topics when there was already a similar discussion going on. This is prohibited in most online communities. I wonder why it does not apply here as well?
The information in an already existing thread might be outdated. Bitcoin and the blockchain is an evolving ecosystem. The rules and solutions proposed a few years ago might not work today, or the steps to resolve specific problems could have changed. Don't forget that we are also dealing with different software and hardware and what might be the best option for one software/hardware, might not work as well for the other.

Very often it's not suggested to necro bump an old thread unless you are bringing something useful to the discussion. It is suggested to users to create their own threads instead.

I wasn't aware of that, thank you. However, I guess it's not a good idea to create a new discussion thread if one already exists with a similar topic and active discussion?

0-3

Dude, you've already posted your prediction for today.
You subsequently changed the score to be ahead of the other participants and are now trying to insert more entries that you plan to delete later when the game starts. Cheating is not cool.

snipped

Oh yes, it's mb. I planned on changing my prediction from 0-1 -> 0-3 which i did but zoned out while in rush watching a good series.
I'll keep that in my mind next time.

Thank you for notifying.

According to 1xbit_official, it is not permitted to change your prediction. It is unfair to other players who are posting their predictions after you.
There were a couple of participants who were disqualified for it.

Batwingoz and SmokerFace were removed from the winners list since they have changed their preditions.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will not be able to stay above $35k for 10 consecutive days ever again on: June 22, 2021, 12:23:05 PM
these are all jokes, of course bitcoin will have 10 days consecutive above 35k, there will be 10 days consecutive above 100k as well, all we need to do is wait, there were tons of people who didn't expected us to go above 20k as well, now we are not even "dropping" to it because we are so far ahead of it, thankfully bitcoin is an ever growing product and it will have down days but overall it always goes up.
I do not care if it is a joke or not, dude is sort of right so far and that is what matters, obviously it is going to go up over 35k and stay there for 10 days, but so far it hasn't and that is a thing, that matters. I personally hope for the price to go above by this time and stay there and it hasn't.

That "dude" also claims in his signature that “bitcoin price cannot be sustained above $ 10k” which is pure nonsense and empirically confirmed as incorrect.
