The next Bitcoin won't become number 1 that easy  Shocked Grin

It is so true. The more you think about the timing and the degree of this smear campaign, the more worries and hates you can feel from the other side. Narula's blog virtually was trying to declare the death of IOTA. Isn't finding a bug in a software a good thing for the software's growth because the software becomes better? Why Narula as a science researcher didn't think it this way? Think about it.

Hi, anyone has an idea of why IOTA's price keep dropping?

trading volume IOTA is huge and is included in the top 10 in marketcap. But although the volume of trade transactions on the market is quite large, why not listing om bittrex and poloniex ? Please who knows the reason why can be like that explain to me. Thanks.

Because IOTA is a new technology and it takes time for the exchanges to code and test the integration. But people have been saying that several exchanges are working on it at this moment.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: August 21, 2017, 08:56:17 PM
Folks, I don't know whether its just me or it has something with the current state of the network... so I thought I would ask here, maybe someone has a solution:

few days ago I initiated a transaction, and it never confirms... I keep rebroadcasting that, and reattaching too (5 times already), all the attempts are shown in history as "pending" (they also show up with considerable delay - like 10 minutes after reattaching complete), but none of them seems to confirm.

I am using the latest 2.4.0 light wallet and I have moved my IOTAs to new seed - btw moving also took awhile, but finally confirmed in 1 day after 3 re-attachings. But this new transaction does not..!

Am I missing anything, and is there anything I can do to, to help it confirm?
Thanks for your help!
Just try another seed (Tools--Edit node configuration), for example service.iotasupport.com, and reattach again.

Thanks for your help! I tried 3-4 other hosts (such as service.iotasupport.com, iotatoken.nl, eugine.iotasupport.com, iota.bitfinex.com), and keep reattaching that transaction, but still no joy! Undecided
It keeps staying in pending state for many days now. I tried to make another [conflicting] transaction now, but they both are hanging in "pending" state.
All the new receiving addresses I try to attach to tangle, are also hanging in "pending" state. I am now trying to use the wallet with the same seed on another PC, but things seem to be staying the same.

Am I really the only one with such issue? Is everyone able to send/receive without problems now?

Will it help if I switch to full node? CfB, could you please help with some advice?

The server may not be synced all time. When you connect to the server, let you wallet run for 20 minutes. When you make transactions or reattach, you need to check if your wallet is synced or not. Check the bottom left corner, there are several numbers. Make sure the first two numbers are same. Otherwise wait for the becoming same. But again, the server may not keep synced all time and you should always check the syncing status when making reattach or transactions. For now you just need to reattach. Do it once every 30 minutes. Don't do it more frequently. You will be fine.

For more help, you probably should post a screen shot of your history.

I have no ideal of why iota is pump, in comparition with byteball,i d like more byteball, the bot is great, and the iota wallet is too diffcet to use , everytime when I open the wallet always forget the 64 crarect

Beacaue of the real world adoption - https://forum.iota.org/t/publicly-announced-iota-real-world-projects-tracker/1820. If byteball has this kind adoption, byteball will be pumped too. Crypto should not be a hobby any more.

Why in the update we have to change the seed?
I like some investors buy iota think in the long term. What if we don't update the seed we can lose the IOTA?

This blog tells you why - https://blog.iota.org/upgrades-updates-d12145e381eb

I think September 11 happened before October 21 in 2015 like it did last year too and many years before that.

It's timestamps of the corresponding threads on this forum. There is a proof of IOTA being known to not so wide audience months before. Maybe a bet?
Really? You mean the ICO was known to insiders months before? How quaint. Would not have expected more from you.

This is the link in NXT forum about the earlier (2014) discussion of dag and Tangle structure. you need login NXT forum to see it - https://nxtforum.org/proof-of-stake-algorithm/dag-a-generalized-blockchain/

So much unfair by IOTA team, somebody who is not to much familiar with IOTA, how can she or he understand how to recover IOTA. IOTA team must do it automatically. I don't understand IOTA team.

After the current chain of upgrades is over we are planning to create a service that will recover iotas of those who know the correct seeds.
Come from behyind, so you say that once all the upgrades are done we will be able to recover our iotas, even those who had iota stored in wallet 2.3 with old seed?
Can you please show me a link to where this announcement was made.We really need help because there are so many people having this old/new seed transition problem.
Thanks

I think you can look it as an announcement. He is CfB, a member in the core team.

I updated the Android wallet but after attaching several addresses (30+), still no sign of my balance. Perhaps it takes some time before the old balance shows up again?

To do the transition, follow this guide step by step - https://matthewwinstonjohnson.gitbooks.io/iota-guide-and-faq/getting-started/guide-transition.html
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tau-Chain and Agoras Official Thread: Generalized P2P Network on: August 17, 2017, 03:05:56 PM
Sounds like it has all come down to the following:
What if Ohad has come up with something that the Autonomic folks can't even wrap their heads around (at this stage)?  If not, Autonomic it will be.
It's possible; we can only make a comparison based on those aspects of the design that have been publicly disclosed, so we can only really address the question of MSOL vs. MLTT. Both HMC and Ohad claim to know the answers here, but their answers are in contradiction with each other. Previously I had thought I was able to demonstrate the insufficiency of MSOL but upon closer analysis I realized that my proofs were based on flawed assumptions and misinterpretations. Since coming to this realization, have taken a step back from "pushing the MLTT agenda", and now my goal is simply to play the role of a neutral 3rd party and analyze the validity of these claims, along with carrying out some further research into the strengths and weaknesses of various other logical systems that could potentially be used (mainly just standard systems discussed frequently in academic literature on formal logic, as these have the most metatheoretic results available to aid in the comparisons, and are the most likely systems to be brought up as an actual candidate logic as MSOL and MLTT have). I'll share my results with the community as I go along, on the AutoNomic wiki, though I will warn ahead of time that the explanations will still be very technically involved; it's simply a complex subject.

Is it possible that both Tau-Chain and AutoNomic can succeed and work out in different ways with their own merits like PoW and PoS or Ethereum and Tezos may both succeed and work out?

How to recover IOTA from old seed? Is there any video guide?
Really helpful and detailed guide:

Hope it helps other too Smiley
unfortunately this guide, as many other ones, doesn't explain anything if the seed was too long
I'm still waiting for a damned IOTA dev reply to this thread, maybe after 1 year or 2 I will find somebody helping me to recover my IOTA lost-in-sleeping balance

The best place to get help is the #help channel on Slack. Devs are on Slack, not here.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: August 15, 2017, 01:48:14 AM
the recent pump of iota, was the reason for the pump the rumors of new exchanges or was it just usa peopole buying iota before getting shown the door soon? or was it both? rumors and americans buying?

I think it is more a recognition of iota's development progress in both tech side and business side. -  https://forum.iota.org/t/publicly-announced-iota-real-world-projects-tracker/1820. It takes time for the news to propagate.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 07, 2016, 02:21:09 PM
Will there be an asset exchange marketplace (something like Nxt AE and Counterparty) in Byteball?
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: September 18, 2016, 08:59:08 PM
Since private payments are stored only on your device(s), and updated every time you send or receive blackbytes, the best way to protect from device failure is to have a multisig wallet with redundancy, e.g. 1-of-2 is enough for backup.

How do I backup my wallet?
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage - Working Beta - Currency has been released on: January 31, 2016, 11:47:50 PM
The developers have a plan for how to identify hosts. But for now, its all based on your IP which ideally should not change if you're a host.

Does a renter need an IP address to upload and store and retrieve the files?
