Why does it always download blockchain after I install new version? Shouldn't it be stored somewhere on the computer?

The larger problem is that it needs 5 mins to load the blocks. This is slower than Bitcoin.

What do you mean? Can you explain in detail?

Well I start the client on a 3.3 GHz Core i5 and a SSD, the window comes up and loads the 250k blocks which takes 5 minutes.

First it's loading the blocks which are already on your computer (before the login screen). Then it's syncing to get the new blocks, which are not on your computer already (while, after login screen).

If it's taking you only 5 minutes for 260,000 blocks, that's pretty fast. At Bitcoin you need several days to sync. Wink

No it's NOT syncing, it's loading. The message says Loading block xx of yy in the middle of the window. After that you get the login screen, you login and in the right lower corner you see it's syncing new blocks which can take hours depending on how old your blockchain is (in my example loading took 5 minutes and syncing 15 minutes). It works just the same as with Bitcoin, the client is first loading the existing blockchain, then syncing the missing blocks, only that the loading part is 10 times faster with BTC.

Radix - just imagine

Syncing is very quick. It took 10 minutes for 60k blocks at my Macbook Air.

Loading, yes that's pretty slow. But still quick (5 minutes).

The loading will be removed in v0.2.0. It will happen in the background then. Smiley

Hi!
Thanks for response. I know about this problem too, and we will work on it in next releases.

Does XCR use the brainwallet same as Nxt - all I need for creating an account is to create a long password to log in?

Yes, you can!

Crypti has brain wallet so you just have to remember your secret passphrase. One secret passphrase is one account.

If you accidently enter a wrong secret passphrase a new account would be created.

The signing will be done locally (via Javascript) on your PC. So you will not send your passphrase over the internet at any time. Smiley

The only thing you need to be careful is, that if some 3rd party runs such a wallet, they could have modified the html page, so it sends your password to the owner.

https://wallet.crypti.me however is maintained by ourselves, so it's 100% secure to use it! Smiley

In the future we will have a light wallet, called Crypti Lite, which will allow to access the Crypti client without the blockchain download.

Not a lot has moved! People probably don't know they can withdraw... I really want to see that BTER wallet obliterated. No more centralized exchanges holding funds please!

It's need to withdraw to enable new network on dpos.
As soon as we will see that on bter less then 50% we can start dpos network.
And after we release new versions Wink

We already finished part of new stuff and we wait for new wallet design to connect it all Smiley

We asked people to remove their Bter funds last year, after the NXT theft happened.  But everyone was upset at having to pay the 1% fee to Bter, which was originally agreed to as the fee Bter earned for hosting the IPO.  That is now .5%.

Most people, it seems, only moved 1000 XCR out of Bter to make a node that could forge.

Yay! Very happy to see bter came through and withdrawals are enabled. Thank you crypti team for working with them to make it happen. I've got all my XCR off of exchanges now, and I recommend everybody else do the same unless you are currently actively trading.
