I downloaded the new wallet and didn't have to do anything else which is cool. Now will it mint extra coins today or doesn't it mint daily? I haven't minted any for nearly 2 days and I got wallet open most of the day I am online also pinned it to taskbar. I have it unlocked every time I am online. Is there anything else I need to do to start minting again? Or is it just random? Grin

I also have an idea..Why not we all contribute 1k each and do a massive mintpal voting giveaway and get more peeps to vote on mintpal and give them a treat? I could help with that as I do giveaways all the time.

About how the coins are minted, there is a discussion in the previous posts.
Simply speaking, two things you will need to do :
1. have your wallet unlocked;
2. wait for AT LEAST 24 hrs;

For the first mint, it could take 24 hr and even more.
In the thread, some guy had waited for 4 days to mint his first coins.

Be patient! Longer you wait, more coins you will get.

blackcoin went big partly because everybody agree only to traded the staked coins, not sell original 1 million. It's a bit hard to police that but just saying.

No, there is no original 1 million for blackcoins. It was mined with PoW by miners at first stage, then became true PoS coin after block 5000.

You are right. BC had 5000 blocks PoW phase. I mined it.  And I also bought and sold some BCs.
I am lucky to buy some cheap FAC several days ago (~400 satoshi).
As I know that both of them are great.
Compared to them, COMM is ever better.  I want to join in!
I can help mine (on multipool) and vote and promote.
I want to be an active member of Communitycoin.

Thanks looks interesting although thanks will look more into it since it doesn't seem to say how to list new projects and/or if they allow that will contact them and see. As for Mpex we've looked at them and decided not to go with them for the time being. Noticed a couple announcements by bitcoinbourse.eu starting to allow securities to be listed on their site. Any thoughts on them?

Hey, I've never used Virwox.com so wouldn't be able to help you there. However I would advice trying https://localbitcoins.com. Great site and which I've used before to both buy and sell and works great. Many different options for payment all dependent on the seller but check it out and see if that works in your area. Also check and see if there are any local bitcoin meet ups on meetup.com. If so someone there might be willing to sell. As always be careful and  try and use escrow services whenever possible. Hope that helps cheers

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Manic miner' aims to mine 10 percent of all bitcoins on: March 29, 2014, 05:56:19 PM
Clearly a good investment as it's already throwing off free cash flow.  But his fixed expenses are high and will only increase as difficulty rises (assuming he wants to mine the same proportionate amount).  He'll need Bitcoin to keep increasing in price in order to continue to stay mining, otherwise they'll be a lot of rigs for sale.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wow! This is kind-of an exciting way to look at bitcoin on: March 29, 2014, 05:39:03 PM
Bloomberg is talking about bitcoin being more than just a currency.  That bitcoin is rather more like 'The Internet of Money'.

I think this quote is attributed to Bitcoin business angels group BitAngels - David Johnston.

It is actually a very interesting notion.  While the conventional Internet is a mechanism for doing many cool things with information (content), i.e. facebook, videos, email, Skype, MMOG, et cetera, bitcoin actually supports an infrastructure which will permit one to do so many cool things with value (money).  The "Internet of Money".  I like that.

Obviously bitcoin is going to be insanely powerful in this regard.  I just hope it doesn't take 20 years the way it took the internet that long to get to where it is now.  (i.e. from 1994 / Netscape - Thanks Marc)

Any development of things have a process,
this may take a long time can be very short,
can only say that we hope BTC can rapid growth.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Search engine 3.0, blockchain native on: March 29, 2014, 05:20:25 PM
Hope Google search will be improved. Smiley

Google search keeps getting worse. They removed discussion searches from their options and advanced search from the main page. A lot of times when I go back in my browser to Google, I have to reload the page to show search results.

What does being a Christian have to do with it?
The OP could be Muslim or a Buddhist. Does it matter?

Religion is what YOU make of it.
If you decide to be a good person then God (no matter how you call him) is with you.

That being said, the OP is trying to set several rules we should all follow to keep Bitcoin alive.

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We still Love Bitcoin. on: March 29, 2014, 04:13:47 PM

Quoted for truth as this tends to get drowned in the "PRICE" "PRICE" noise from the speculators drawn in by the latest bubble.

You're awesome Bitcoin!  Kiss

I pay attention to price, but the first thing that attracted me to Bitcoin was the excitement of a unique, worthwhile project.
The price of BTC is the most important. Grin Grin
