So, I'm a bit late to this, but even having read from page 50 to 61, I'm still in the dark with regard to what actually happened. I never saw what the last message was on the bitlc.net site. Was the site corrupted, or hacked into, or something like that? Did Erick guess the password for the cold-wallet and disappear with it?
Anyway, I think I had 0.1 BTC in my account, and you (Jine/Jim) are welcome to it, if it's ever recovered. Even if 1 BTC becomes worth 1 million dollars/euros/pounds or so.
I'm sorry you have developed such an aversion towards everything bitcoin-related. I do hope you get over it some day.
For what it's worth, I always thought this was one of, if not the best supported pool.

I would like to be on the whitelist as well.
Since I don't feel there's anything for me to ask or post about in the newbies section, I haven't done so. If I did that just to make 5 posts, I would be spamming, and that would be very much out of character for me. I must've been reading forum threads for a total of 100+ hours or more, as I've done so for several weeks before I registered, from other places than at home, sometimes I forgot to log in, or couldn't remember the password (the browser remembers it for me, as I use a different pw for each website/forum) when I wasn't at home.
I've used Debian since March 1999, and (x)ubuntu for about two years, and I was already clued in about hashsums and their applications years before joining here. It only took me two days to get a mining-pc with Ubuntu 10.10 up and running from a cold start, once I had the time(vacation) to do so. There were some very useful clues in the mining/support threads. Didn't need to ask questions about it.
While reading the forum threads I've several times wanted to; - reply to someone, as I've found the answer to their problem in another thread or elsewhere. - contact someone about their mining pool, to give feedback, suggest a feature, or request something. - ask a non-basic question, which the search function or Google couldn't give me an answer to.
all of which I couldn't..
Also, I'm an old-school overclocker, and I think I found a little 'trick' that most people don't know about. I would like to post about it in the right place, instead of in the newbies section.
Btw; Wouldn't a karma / user-moderation-system work better, such that if your karma went too low, you could only post in the newbies section? Perhaps (also) a meta-moderation system like slashdot's?
