Anyone know why ETC (Ethercoin) is disabled on Bittrex? Is the exchange for ethereum already over?

Yes, probably because the real ETHER hits the market and they removed Ethercoin. Sad

Doesn't Bittrex always send out an e-mail notification before they delist a coin? Also did ethercoin.cc ever specify when the coin swap would end?

Why has there been so much fud then if both Rivaa and Lakhani Enterprise support it publicly? Also any news from Hobopete and his thread that says "over" on it? Much more concerning than all the rest of the fud put together.

Any news from the devs? Making the rounds to see if there is any life in the older coins that at once had some potential. I reached out to support@teamaircoin.org recently with no luck so I'm assuming they've moved on. No sure though. Thanks

Has anybody heard from the devs recently/received any updates with regard to the future direction of this coin? Is it safe to assume that the devs have already abandoned AIRcoin's 10 operating principles, particularly points 5,6 and 8 as seen in their original launch paper from February 19th?

"AIRcoin operates on 10 Principles.
1. No coins from the reserve will be given away without due service. This maintains the opening
and maintaining exchange rate.
2. Mining parameters will meet the needs of the market, not the other way around.
3. The reserve will be used to maintain the exchange rate through automated buy and sell orders
on qualifying exchanges.
4. The investing pool of 0.25% total coins, as it grows in size, will be used to increase the volume
and price of the buy orders, adding more and more to it daily as traders increase the volume.
5. Weekly data and newsletters regarding the progress of the coin will be published regularly to the public.
6. Transparency with the public, both in the workings of the Allied Investors Association and the technology of the coin, is paramount.
7. All new advances to the coin are to be reviewed, examined, and publicly available.
8. AIRcoin development team will act as ambassadors to the community and the financial world, and provide leadership and direction to the Cryptocurrency community.
9. Educating those who do not know about cryptocoins is far more effective than arguing with
those who do.
10. A code of conduct will be published by which these coins will be held to, under the knowledge
that financial regulation, innovation, or termination will arrive within a reasonably short period
of time."

So does anyone know for sure if "Team AIRcoin" is a group college students or actual professionals?

They claim that they are "formed from economists and finance experts, and programmers who have dedicated themselves to this business." (AIRcoin Official Press Release)

and that they, "have past experience and connections with:
1. Multiple financial institutions, including Investment Banks, Capital Management, and Venture Capital.
2. Angel Investors and Alumni support.
3. University of Chicago Economics Department and Booth School of Business" (March 22 post, pg 71)

and that they, "have the power to change how Altcoins are accepted in the United States, we are not exaggerating" (March 22 post)

My interpretation, regarding the devs anonymity is that they are possibly just college students who have been over presenting themselves as “financial experts”. If they were truly college professors, stockbrokers, or involved in the financial markets, etc. my line of thinking is that they would have nothing to hide and be able to at least disclose their professions/backgrounds as this could possibly help the value of the coin/add legitimacy. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with college students developing altcoins but by using rhetoric such as “we have the power to change how Altcoins are accepted in the United States” leads me to conclude that to support these claims they must have decades of experience in finance and economics in the real world not from learning about it in the classroom.

Note: I still believe the concept of AIRcoin is much better than most altcoins and interested to see if the devs decide to come forward with a little on their various backgrounds to back up their claims. Any thoughts on this issue or whether I should be that concerned? Thanks

Edit: If the devs do not address this issue, is it safe to assume that they are students?
