The Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing (BOINC) is an open source middleware system for volunteer and grid computing. It was originally developed to support the SETI@home project before it became useful as a platform for other distributed applications in areas as diverse as mathematics, medicine, molecular biology, climatology, environmental science, and astrophysics. The intent of BOINC is to make it possible for researchers to tap into the enormous processing power of personal computers around the world.

Regarding Linux & Mac:

The new cpuminer version that is coming out in 7 days is almost completely cross platform with native Linux/Mac compatibility.  Im working hard to remove windows features and make the new versions cross compilable.

I'm calling 35000 in the next two months if there is a substantial increase in wallets holding over 1k  say if that number triples in the next month...

There will be a total of 166m PTC, described by its creator ‘CryptoMP’ as “[not] an explosive coin, but a modest currency that slowly finds its way into the community”. Apart from giving away 50 PTC amounts on a casual basis, there is no scheduled ‘airdrop’ and it is hoped Pesetacoin will spread organically via its users, as did bitcoin.

CryptoMP has increased the competitive stakes by referring to rival Spaincoin as “a classic pump-and-dump scam” that would make money for a few early on, before disappearing.
