1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Exit strategy on: February 21, 2021, 09:52:16 PM
I totally understand your point. But i'm definetely not palnning to get out of crypto, if I take profits right now I'm planning to reinvest them after an (possilbe) bear market. Of course nobody knows if there is going to be an bear market and if so, where it will go.

Hmmm it’s not that I need the money right now.
For long term I really think this is not the top, but of course nobody knows. It’s more that I realize my portfolio is at ath right now and if I can save all that money now and maybe reinvest at $25/30k, it would be very nice.
It’s difficult hahaha, but thanks for your reply, I appreciate it!

Hi everyone,

(Before you read this I think it's necessary to know that I'm 16 years old so my budget to invest in unfortunately very limited.)
I bought Bitcoin for the first time in 2017 at $5k, just weeks before the big pump to almost $20k, stupid as I was I didn't sell anything at that moment and just hodl till te pump was over Sad, but I was only 13 years old at that moment and I think that was a big learning point for me.

The following 3 years I wasn't really busy with Bitcoin, I checked the price sometimes and rarely I bought some new Bitcoin (mostly I only bought for like $50 because of my young age). My total investment at this moment is I think around $300.

Yeah we all know where we are today, bitcoin trading at fucking $55k! I have sold 33% of my btc at $37k (I had learned from 2017 that I should take some profits). My portfolio is currently worth $2100(!), but I don't know what to do know. It is a lot of money for my age, I am thinking about selling it all now and wait for hopefully a dump and reinvest it all. But yeah who says there is going to be an big dump now that big companies like Tesla are investing in it.

I seriously don't know what to do, of course it could be possible we will still be in a bull market the following weeks/months and then I would regret if I will sell it all at this moment.

I need an exit strategy, but I don't know what way?

If you guys have some tips or ideas, let me know : )

PS: I hate it that I was quite early in Bitcoin but I was very young at that moment so I couldn't invest more, now I see people who stepped into Bitcoin in 2017 too that have way more money hahaha, but i'm very happy with what I have know.

"What are great ideas for crypto/bitcoin/blockchain that are interesting to work out and could become very helpful for the world?"

to answer this question, you should try a lot of crypto stuff, and you will find some problems to solve.
you will find common problems and segmented problems. You can start the project from that, I think.
it sounds simple but complicated to be realized.

however, you have a plus point already with your age. You are young and still have a lot of time to learn.
for now, you can just learn blockchain and crypto, you will find people with the same interest that you can collaborate with.

I suggest you start making content. the world needs educative content about blockchain and crypto in a simple and short way.
I believe you will grow from that.

First of all, thanks for your reply! I'm really happy to be on this forum : )
I think I will start with something like building a website about blokchain and bitcoin, just for myself to learn from and hopefully (you never know) it will be a helpfull site for other people.
When I start with it I'm sure I will be posting something about it here again, to get some feedback and stuff.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could it be possible to do the same as GME in the crypto market? on: January 28, 2021, 04:11:12 PM
I was wondering if it would be possible to bring a coin to such a higher price (likely what is going on with GameStop right now but then in the crypto market) if we as a group would all buy a coin.

Maybe this is such a stupid question, but yeah idc lol hahaha

If you gather a group of small investors and you buy a dead shitcoin that has less than 1K USD daily trading volume, then the price of that dead shitcoin will go up rapidly in a short time frame. The problem is how to create a snowball effect that will bring in tons of new investors and fresh money into the pump.
Other major problem I can see is dead shitcoins usually have a gigantic supply,so they aren't scarce.
The lack of scarcity might be a great obstacle for the shitcoin price to increase exponentially.

Yeah that's true, it's difficult to gather so many people. Unless we create our own reddit group and wait till the right moment when the group has so many members that are willing to pump it ; )

For me YES, it is possible. But not that huge percentage of gains.
The GME gains for those kind of internet memes or trolls are  amazing, a lot of people manage to hop in for that pump.

For what happened on GME with internet memes/trolls is more possible to do in Bitcoin.

Some people saying that what happened on GME was price manipulation, but have you ever tried to think if government just print and print fiat and called it banking?

Well, I say: let’s start it hahaha Wink

You are absolutely right, the banks printing money and money is more manipulation then GME

Looks good, more details would be nice but yeah if you are working on that then it’s great!
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else still regret not buying Bitcoin in 2011? on: January 23, 2021, 01:45:43 PM
I regret being only 16 years old hahaha, I am very interested in Bitcoin and blockchain for about 4 years now. I'm sure that if I was born earlier I would have bought Bitcoin earlier then when I did now (2017), also I would have invested more money in it because yeah now I'm 16 so I don't have that much money. But still I'm very happy with the profits I make, it's not all about the investment, it's about the technology too.

You can work on theories and papers that are in relation to bitcoin or blockchain.

Here are some questions that you can wonder that can help you if you want to pursue economics. What is their impact in a economy that has a bitcoin its circulated economy? Will a cashless economy be a viable solution for the long term survival of a country?

Interesting questions, will definitely have a look at it!
11  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Blockchain ideas on: January 22, 2021, 10:42:51 PM
You still have time to think twice before making a final decision. You are 16, when you turn 17, you'll understand that you are absolutely better than you were 1 year ago, same will happen when you turn 18 and during this timeframe, your visions may change.

I don't know where you live and what's the university you want to enter but consider that in 90% cases, you'll see two type of lecturers: 1. Who doesn't know anything about bitcoin and 2nd - Who will claim that this is the coin that's used in darknet, to fund terrorist, etc. But prove to them that you know more and they are wrong in this case!

Btw for ideas: Blockchain technologies can be implemented in many things and they can be extremely beneficial (for example land title registry).

Yes I'm trying to learn more everyday, that's one of the reasons why I'm on this forum. I realise that I'm very young in the crypto world and a lot of people of my age are not paying any attention to it.

I live in the Netherlands and i'm going to an University here somewhere. I already read on Twitter that I shouldn't expect many positive things about crypto on the University, but I'm ready to prove them wrong ; )

Thanks for your reply!

Yes I saw it! I think it's great for the reputation of Bitcoin, I'm sure this has led to new people who began to interest in Bitcoin now.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dont stay in crypto too long on: January 22, 2021, 06:01:32 PM
Be careful with what you say, of course you can think about Bitcoin this way. But I think there are a lot of ways how you can see Bitcoin and none of them are wrong. Some people see it as an investment while some other people really believe in the blockchain and the decentralized thing about Bitcoin. I think the goverment isn't really able to start fucking with your bitcoins unless you give them acces ; )

14  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Blockchain ideas on: January 22, 2021, 12:24:21 PM
Start learning, and over the years you will have enough information to write a small book that talks about the effect of inflation, the extent of the problems of centralization in money and is decentralized money that will change the world?
The idea that Bitcoin is an investment or a hedge against risks keeps us away from the most important point, which is decentralization, so it is better to teach future generations how to maintain the decentralization of the network because sooner or later the countries will create digital money.

You have a point for sure, a lot of people see Bitcoin as an investment. Of course it's cool when you can make some money out of it, but the decentralized money can build our future (I believe) and that's the most important part for the world. I have already been thinking about maybe starting an platform to inform people about Bitcoin and the blockchain, but I thought there would already be to many that are probably better hahaha. Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it!
15  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Blockchain ideas on: January 22, 2021, 12:11:47 PM
There are a lot of ways to make bitcoin grow... You can help as a developer creating more software for the coin, but I understand that is not an option for you, so, you can do some analysis to the markets trying to predict what will be the next coin steps.

If you study economics then you can start an Investors Wallet, and manage all the investor's money while you promote the cryptos. Just ask yourself what you want to do, and if it has bitcoin involved then for sure will help the bitcoin community.

Hmmm thanks for your reply! Starting an Investors Wallet sounds pretty cool, could definitely be something for me in the future.
Fortunately I still have plenty of time left to think about great ideas because I'm 16 years old and I can't start things easy before I turn 18. But I'm sure it will be something where Bitcoin is involved.
16  Bitcoin / Project Development / Blockchain ideas on: January 20, 2021, 02:48:07 PM
Hi people,

I'm a guy who is 16 years old and I'm interested in crypto/bitcoin since 2017. In two years I will go to university and I think I am going to do a study that has something to do with economics because I like learning about monetary systems and stuff.

Now the thing is that I really want to do something with crypto later in my life for work and I want to help Bitcoin grow in the world (I really think it has a great future for everyone in the world). I'm not really good at programming so I would not prefer to become a developer or something like that. My question now is: "What are great ideas for crypto/bitcoin/blockchain that are interesting to work out and could become very helpful for the world?

I know my question may sound a little bit vague but I was like ey I can always ask hahaha Smiley
