1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 25, 2014, 02:56:38 AM
Got mine yesterday.  One work fine at 449G per pool stat., but the other one is not working  Sad

Half of the ASIC was xxxxx.  I tried to change psu, cable, shutdown the one working and switch to this one (in case my new RM1000 is not working or not have capacity), reset it, change ethernet cable.  I even change the place 20 km apart!  Nothing work.

I did show it got all 3 workers alive and the first one even get work (but discard them all).  Pool stat. said it was touched in 11 hours ago but not lately.  I double check the tailoring is the same (DHCP etc.) and hence it might not be mine.

(I did open the case see whether there is any thermal paste.  Nothing.  Hence not for that reason.)

Have to get back to Bitman for maintenance.  A bit disappointed.  6 S1 since April is all fine and hence may have too high expectation on its working.

Solved by install the firmware to get the "failover" menu (which the shipped one menu does not have it).  Did install 2 times as the first time preserve the settings does not work.  They are both 430G+.  Cheers!

For the coupon offered, any one know whether it has a time limited. If not, I may opt that.  All my bitocoin is used to buy their machines so far and hence it is better.  However, if there is a time limit, not sure how long to get my 1.45 bitcoin to get the next batch, may get the refund instead.

Any one got experience?

there is a time limit... i think it was the 22nd from memory

you can choose refund before then or it will default to coupon after cutoff

also, one coupon per purchase

Thanks.  Is the coupon itself has time limit?

I have also learned that a little patience goes a LONG way when it comes to mining Wink

I knew it will not increase my reward one dot but my worker stat.  Said he found a block.  Now can I know which block is that? Just silly to say my first found bitcoin block is ...

How do you get coupons ?

Bought from them for many BTC and have 0 coupons whatsoever

Under your account, there is a coupon list.

Got one expired today and three on 27 may.

One .1b for 1 and .25b for 3, assume I can donate it. Try to get my pair.  I wait for 1 but now 2.  If this go through I can get it early next week instead of 2 weeks later.

man you guys are having some bad luck over here.

It looked like that especially in the last 1 week.

As a newbie, I tried to analysis using the statistics from the site (https://mining.bitcoin.cz/stats/):

In this line and if the luck meant average against the world, the latest is  176% 89% 100% for 1 7 30 days.    Hence it seems it is just average (100%) if you calculate over 1 month.  But the 89% is very bad (and reflect the feel in the last 1 week).  But the 176% currently (because after a long wait we have 0 hour one), that seems just wide fluctuation of a small pool.  May be one has to be patient.

What I do not understand if one look at say this: http://bitcoinchain.com/pools

You can see that slush pool have average 258,349 GH/s but it only got 56 blocks but other having much less GH/s got more blocks.  Is that normal and are we getting less block than we should.

It comes back, what does that meant the pool luck statistics reported in the site.  If it does not reflect the average block per time period per GH/s, what does it meant?

Just asking as I am still in this pool.

===

Another question whilst I am still in this pool, is my average average?

My 200 GH/s based on stat. should gave me 0.02 per day (per http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/) but in this site it is average 0.0125 per day for the last 2 weeks (with last 10 rounds now is 200+ GH/s).  Is that a bit below expectation or it is the bitcoinx too optimistics about this.

In any case may be I should be happy as I saw all these TH/s machine coming everywhere now.  I think that 0.125 / day is not going to last even ...
