1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: GAW Miners- THE WAR MACHINE 54MH Miner!! on: May 12, 2014, 06:33:24 AM
Waere super thx!

Cheers!

English translation:
Miner run at 100% only the UI says that a blade is not running, that happens about every couple of hours alternately. Can you explain a bit how the UI related to the miners? Of course, not too much because the competition reads with. Would be great thx!

Sometimes the reporting doesn't make it up to the API, the tolerance is pretty tight, so the API expects to hear about each miner, when it does not it assumes it is down. It is a tricky balance, if I increase the tolerance it might misreport it the other way around, that would be worse.

Jeff, thanks for getting my miners all straightened out (great job)... and your working on a Sunday none-the-less to make customers like myself happy makes it even more appreciated *(TY!).

Honestly, I've lost some cash on the price drops of my miners but I'm really glad that you guys (gals) are sticking in there by building us this nice front-end to our miners, the constant support to my questions, the relentless overtime to make it happen -IOW's it does soften the blow to my lost of value in my miners == you still continue to be top shelf in my books ==.

-P.S. I hope you get to read this before it gets delete for some reason or another that I honestly don't understand myself -

Thanks again!

Read and much appreciated.

Good afternoon and happy Mother's Day!

I took a small break from my relentless work efforts this fine afternoon and had a wonderful conversation with my Mother which was long overdue.

At any rate I wanted to inform you guys that I have a general reliability update going out this afternoon which address a number of things but the main thing it addresses is the issues that some of you have had recently with pool switching. The update is a combination of UI features and back-end automation. The UI features will make the use of the system more clear while also adding one click reconfiguration of the entire account. This is especially useful for some of our clients who have many devices, the current update process is more cumbersome than it needs to be.

We are quite well staffed today and are sorting out any and all hosted issues. If you have a question, concern or comment you are encouraged to submit a brand new ticket by emailing support@gawminers.com rather than responding to an old or closed ticket. Creating a new usassigned ticket gets more eyes and should lead to a faster response. Responding to a previously assigned ticket may delay our response as a single person may get tied up doing something other than tickets, we do however always have staff addressing new tickets .

Thank you for your continued support.

4  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Miners (Scrypt ASIC seller) independent feedback thread on: May 10, 2014, 09:25:04 PM
My friend's ASIC is down, and mine is still doing under 50%.
Well, at least the pain of missing out on SC mining at .02BTC MH is over and scrypt mining is back to baseline.
$4 a day right now on my $1600 blade.  ROI with GAW Miners is currently not looking possible.
Ordered it almost a month ago, and I've made maybe around .70BTC/$360 back including their double hash promotion.
I need to get that 5.2MH+ at least on average to stand a chance, and they have not delivered this average.

PeaMine,

Send me an email, jeff@gawminers.com and CC it to support@gawminers.com
Send in your order # with it. I WILL investigate and SOLVE this issue.

I am at the data-center right now, and I'll be here for the next four days. We have some more great software and hardware solutions coming online right now.

I literally sleep almost never. I love writing code and having fun, but I am also passionate about finding real, lasting solutions for customers. Sometimes it is just something really simple. Trust me if we keep at it we'll get there.

Disappeared?

Please send in a new support ticket to support@gawminers.com and CC me jeff@gawminers.com it should definitely not disappear.
Be sure to include an order number also, that will help me look up your account

G-glade hash rate fluctuate wildly and going down a few times a day.

yes I get this issue a lot as well, please fix this especially for those who rent out on leaserigs
Using worker difficulty 16, 32 and 64 make the blade very unstable (too many errors force reboot apparently).  The blades are much more stable with something like 1024 difficulty.  I think the problem lies with pools that don't allow you to set the miner difficulty, or don't use VARDIFF properly.  So set a higher worker difficulty, or use a good pool with VARDIFF.

If it were possible to change the error tolerance for reboot, that would be great.  I don't know if that's hard-programmed into the controller, or if GAW can allow us to set a limit.  There seems to be something with the blade that causes errors and reboots when getting lots of small work very fast, versus less, higher-difficulty work.

Power issues:(?)
There have been several times when my blades will get stuck in a reboot loop, even at higher work difficulties.  I've emailed support, and they say, "It was a power issue", and usually the blade comes back online, apparently after they tweaked something.  Other times, 1/2 of the blade is down, while the other half is just fine.  Rebooting only makes that good half come back up again, while the other half is still down.  This happens often.  Eventually (hours), the other half comes back up.

Not sure if GAW has fully implemented their "revamping of the blade's power delivery for all effected blades", or if it is just selectively done.  I'm guessing all of the blades suffer from lack of proper available power, and that GAW hasn't updated the power delivery for every blade- just those that people have complained about. This guess is from the observation that others also are still having issues, and that I get 1/2 of blades that won't come back up after reboots, or blades that won't reboot.

It's possible this is due to poor blade design, or the controller.  It would be nice to know that GAW has upgraded the power delivery for EVERY blade, so that this can be ruled out, and not just for "those blades effected by a power delivery issue".   I think I still may have power delivery issues on some of my blades, manifested as reboot loops, or half the blade staying stuck.

Anyone else seeing the "1/2 stuck blades", or infinite reboot loops?

We are working on this issue, and should have it resolved soon.

This is what's keeping me from using the miner. I can't get rid of the http:// in front of my worker name and password.

I have fixed this bug, and it'll never happen again. HTML5 is still a budding standard, not ratified yet, however the benefits of using it are pretty sweet.

I am curious what browser you were using as this is the first time I've seen this issue.

8  Economy / Service Announcements / We will rise to the occasion on: April 30, 2014, 02:31:02 AM
We have heard you guys and we are stepping up our game. I've been extremely focused on not only the UI but expanding the underlying database structures to offer more features and reliability. We have some really cool stuff coming. Keep and eye on it.

The simple truth is that the way we earned our spot in this market was with our unprecedented, personal, and rapid customer support. Regardless of how shiny and feature rich our UI is, that is the thing we need to put first and foremost. AND WE WILL

One simple tip for you guys also is, open new tickets for new issues. Send in a new email to support. If you reopen an old one and it is assigned to one person and that person is busy then it may get delayed. We've just reorganized our incoming tickets also so that it'll go in the right bucket. New tickets mean more eyes on the issue.

I just wanted to let you guys know that we are just as committed as we ever were and we've heard your feedback and are actively working on solutions. Furthermore your feedback has made our product what it is. You've asked us for transparency and control, you've got it. My favorite thing is solving these issues with software. We are going to be further integrating your UI with our support system, disparate systems are just that, they make our response time slower barbecue there is so much manual intervention required. We have a great custom cloud hosting solution, we have a great eCommerce system and we have a great help desk system. I am tying these together for faster service.

That is all for now, off to the airport Wink

9  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: UI Updates... on: April 15, 2014, 08:31:34 PM

UI updates look great.  Back up pool option is nice.

If you aren't already planning to implement it, may we ask for more than 2 pool options in the UI? DDOSing, server failures, etc., can be pretty common with mining pools.  I'm thinking at least 5 (or unlimited) number of backup pools.  (Most pools have more than one server.  If we have 2 choices and their both on our favorite pool, and the entire pool is down, we don't have a true "backup" pool, with only 2 slots.)

Thanks.

The double pool thing is a stopgap solution. We will offer more, I just needed to get two up right away. An arbitrary number like 5 would be easier to roll out sooner, but infinite is also possible. Do you guys need more than five? Or rather what is the max number that could ever be needed for one instance?

Please let me know via email: jeff@gawminers.com

I need to know so I can make a decision on how I am going to build for the next update to that feature.
10  Economy / Service Announcements / UI Updates... on: April 14, 2014, 07:05:41 PM
I pushed out some Beta UI updates today. There are a few new features, and it is entirely rebuilt with AJAX.
  • Backup pools are now supported
  • One button to automatically attempt to fix down units (in the near future it will move you to another block if it can't fix it with a restart
  • We have some really nice, and fast, reporting rolled out on a few of the ten packs. I'm hoping to get that rolled out the rest of the way today

We have some automated email alerts also, they are a little chatty and sometimes give some false alerts. If you want the alerts in their current state, let me know via email and I'll turn them on for you.

Keep in mind this is just the beginning, it is a very early Beta and there is a lot more to come. I look forward to hearing your suggestions and feedback.

11  Economy / Service Announcements / UI Updates on: April 11, 2014, 04:30:33 PM
Thanks for the UI, it looks great!!  I appreciate the fact that I can now check on my miners and change pools without having to open a support ticket.

I also wanted to say thanks for the super fast shipping.  I ordered two new miners yesterday and already got verification that they were shipped out this morning.

I am more than pleased with the high level of support!!  Thanks so much!

We rolled out a few more UI tweaks last night. The control buttons show the restart status now, this makes it a lot more clear what is going on if you choose to reboot your miners. We'll do our best to get some new things in there every day. The next actual feature going up will be backup pools. That is what we get the most requests for. Beyond that, an event log, and some performance charts are in the works.

-Jeff, GAW Miners

PS, the alert system is up and running but I have it shut off right now, it was getting a little chatty and over alerting some customers and giving some false alerts. I have let it get real chatty with me. The automatic reboots are running for you guys though.

If you don't mind the alert system over alerting you while I debug it further and you want me to turn it on special for you send me an email request to jeff@gawminers.com

Thanks for all the support and feedback
