1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Market all RED today. I am so scared on: September 09, 2018, 12:12:01 PM
The major problem is that retail investors are out of fiat, most of them invested already much more than they should and therefore when we see the beginning of a bull run it is killed halfway as everyone tries to empty their bags.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cut losses on: September 09, 2018, 12:10:10 PM
OK so I bought ETH a while back when it was 600 dollars.

Now that ETH is 275 is it a good move to sell my ETH and buy back in? Wouldnt profit be faster when market picks up like that or not?

Please help me understand
Selling right now is a wrong move, the ETH maybe go lower but it will return. ETH is a kind of an asset that will grow, you bought it at the not so high price, somebody bought it at $1000 and continue to hold.
Selling now won't give you possibility to buy back enough - the losses are huge to my mind. You better hold!

I agree, why would you sell now? Only if you do not believe in the technology and it's future, but then why did you buy it in the first place. The fundamentals are still strong, despite the low prices. 99% of ICOs are on Ethereum and that will not change soon.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advertising at google or promote social media? on: September 09, 2018, 12:07:42 PM
I tried to advertise for my crypto related website using facebook and the campaign was rejected by Facebook. I think that ban has hurt crypto a lot, in line with the Google ban...new people hear less and less about crypto and few new people are coming in.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't hold Bitcoin for long time. on: September 09, 2018, 12:05:35 PM
Bitcoin is still the best crypto to hold long term...I would be more cautious about small caps in altcoins that are facing bigger chances to decline dramatically in price and trading for profit is the better strategy than just to hodl.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Many think crypto is dead. It is not. on: September 09, 2018, 12:02:25 PM
It's not dead only because prices are low! I find it funny how last year my friends said they wanted to buy crypto when the prices came down...Now the prices are down and they no longer want to buy... Human psychology is baffling.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Are you still using MEW? on: September 09, 2018, 11:52:29 AM
Yes, I use this purse for storing and transferring small amounts. For large transactions, it is better to use cold wallets, which are safer.

I agree, initially I was only relying to MEW, but when I started to get more token then at some stage I had to make the call to transfer the larger amounts onto cold storage...with all the scams and hacking going on, you just sleep better.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Airdrops are worth it !!!! on: September 09, 2018, 11:48:02 AM
Airdrops are not worth itat all. For example There is airdrop of 50000 worth of tokens for 2500 first registered members how much you will get after end of ico is 20$ worth of tokens but you will not know whrn it is going to hit exchange and what will be the value of tokens.
I participated in many airdrop and i got few bucks from it. sometimes i got 5$< 7$ that's it.
There are legit project also which can offer larger airdrop for participants but number is very few for these kinds of projects. That's why i prefer bounty over airdrop.

Same here, I spent such a lot of time initially when I came to crypto with airdrops but that time was not invested well, as I also only got a few coins and they are worth almost nothing, on top very few made it to exchanges...
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum's Price on: September 09, 2018, 11:45:55 AM
I really taught this year was for Ethereum but what happen? Undecided I'm so disappointed holding it. Why did Ethereum go with btc flow? Everytime btc falls it falls also. I’m rooting for it since its is an open-source, public, blockchain-based distributed computing platform and operating system featuring smart contract. If the erc20 token using it has high price then why is ethereum price not directly proportional?
In your own opinion?

Ethereum has made me a little bit disappoint too. While the price of bitcoin is going good, the price of ethereum is going down. I hope it can have a great increasing which is more than the rising of bitcoin.

It might be disappointing to see the price decline but more important is to know what drives these prices down...from what we understand now it's the projects selling Ethereum to keep going...if ICOs had raised Bitcoin, you would see Bitcoin going down much further.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your experience in trading? on: September 09, 2018, 11:43:27 AM
On your message I want to answer the folk wisdom " live forever, learn forever." But here I can not agree with you that no matter how much you do not draw knowledge about trading all you need to try in practice. And to get a positive experience, you need to follow the main rule of trade to buy coins when the price is reduced, and to sell when the price is at its peak. That's the whole secret, so good luck to you in this very difficult matter!!!

I don't think this is a secret, but it's a truth that everyone knows about, although very difficult to do if you are human and not a robot. Humans have emotions, and these emotions can kill your profits if you are driven to much by fear or greed.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not panic on: September 09, 2018, 11:38:01 AM
I think that nobody panics already)
I would guess that people could panic few months earlier. But now everyone is already used to it, I am for sure)

It's a difference if you loose 30-40% or 90-95%, especially after a long downward spiral. Right now I think a lot people have more panic now than a few months ago. Also look at the crypto fear and greed index and you get a better picture.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not panic on: August 31, 2018, 01:06:07 PM
I think we should be positive today, as the Fall and rise of the investors activity is going to rise, as well as the crypto currency prices.

You can't force any developments, there are a lot of forces at play but not visible in the prices...I think crypto made good progress on many levels and soon big money is coming in, we have to be patience for a little longer though...but things will reverse.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your experience in trading? on: August 31, 2018, 01:04:27 PM
I have minimal experience but I rely only on myself ! I do not use training and buy signals ! I study the market myself and buy everything that is cheap or that has potential.

Experience is predominantly combined with several strategies and rapid response. I always rely on my intuition and analysis of information from trusted sources

Experience is key in trading. In the beginning almost all people loose. It is very hard to beat the market, there are a lot of pro traders out there and you have to be better than the average trader, so you need to know more...and that comes with experience.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum's Price on: August 31, 2018, 01:02:13 PM
The market will start to grow, and we can see the growth of the Ether. I think we need to wait not so long. Gradually we can see the air for 500 dollars and more.

I think the same, especially a platform like Ethereum will grow steadily with all the launched projects underneath. The same goes for platforms like NEO and what ever platform the future will bring. These are no brainers an should be top of everyones list.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Airdrops are worth it !!!! on: August 31, 2018, 12:59:55 PM
If you find a good aridrop then for sure it is worth getting in. It is important to be careful before you get into something; I am one of the airdrops fan

You are an airdrop fan? Then you must do something different than all the others...I just wasted time on this when I came to crypto and had not invested or joined bounties...so would you mind sharing your secret, how you find the new pearls?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where can I learn trading ? on: August 31, 2018, 12:57:49 PM
Hello forumites,

I am interested in learning the rudiments of cryptocurrency trading and that led me here. But I discovered that here is just for airing opinions on coins and bounties ( permit me if I'm wrong) and most importantly I prefer visual materials to PDF.

Please suggest where I can get videos tutorial online and other useful sites.
Thanks in anticipation of your suggestions.

Personally, I prefer self-learning. I do not trust all traders who want to teach this craft for money, because if you are a professional trader, then you do not have time to do this. The main desire, information on this topic is enough in the network to learn everything yourself.

I am a big fan on self learning general, but with trading there are so many useful techniques and indicators, like fibonacci or bollinger, and countless others, it would take years to discover all that by yourself...watching a few tutorials cab speed this up big time.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC in crypto, does it really require? on: August 31, 2018, 12:53:57 PM
I consider that KYC is not necessary at all. Not important you buy tokens or participate in the bonus program. All serious companies did not carry out it at all.

Really? I participated in more than a dozen ICOs and I always had do undergo KYC. I always felt uneasy about it...there are so many scams and sometimes even experienced investors get trapped in a perfect looking project...and then they have your passport and can scam other people with this...
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Are you still using MEW? on: August 31, 2018, 12:51:48 PM
I'm still using MEW as I consider it one of the safest wallets out there. It's true some of its developers left to start mycrypto project. But that doesn't mean MEW is now an abandoned project. Just ensure you prioritize your safety by ensuring you don't enter your private keys on a phishing site.
Technically MEW is just an interface for creating your wallet, and I think you've misunderstood that MEW is the safest since it's very risky moreover if you access the wallet using your private key. The safest wallet is where you can access them without giving your private key or store them offline, the hardware wallet for example. MEW itself not recommend people to use private key as a method of login, since their site always got attacked yeah it's better safe than sorry, just a friendly advice.
Most of people thinks that MyEtherWallet is safe but its not. All online wallets are risky MEW for example as you copy and paste your private keys on the web, there are some people who made MyEtherWallet's copied website and many had turn their assets into ash because of that incident that is why there is warning on Myetherwallet's website.

That is very true and on a regular basis people are loosing their funds as they get trapped by some spyware getting access to the clipboard and hence also the private key. Best thing is to use a nanoledger, then your private key will always be hidden.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Swiss banks to open up for Crypto Business on: August 31, 2018, 12:48:11 PM
That is good to know, so Switzerland wants to keep the crypto money at home as well, it will be great for overall crypto market and more countries will follow this by allowing crypto business however we should also keep in mind that crypto is basically borderless and decentralized and even restrictions do not have significant effect on them.
It is really good to know and I am happy we are at least seeing some development as regards to adoption in some countries with this news even with all the downtrend still persisting. I am sure as time goes on; every other country globally will start using these smart countries with visionary leaders as a case study when they start seeing the boom in their economy.

It is a very good announcement, the days we have all always been looking forward to right from the start of this journey is actually getting close. I am expecting Swiss government to legalize bitcoin following Japan. We are going to have moon-touching rally of bitcoins in coming days.

From what I know, switzerland has already legalized bitcoin, you can pay your taxes even in bitcoin. I only know this from an article I read on cointelegraph, would be great if people from switzerland can verify that...Japan should have been N1, in honor of the great Satoshi Nakamoto. But I am sure they will follow soon. Japan is very positive on Crypto, the government is invested in ADA, that should make a lot of people confident. Not all countries are against crypto, only the ones who are completely blind.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Many think crypto is dead. It is not. on: August 31, 2018, 12:45:33 PM
Too much noise has been made by crypto-currencies to simply turn off the music, turn on the light and send everyone home. Show must go on! It's obvious, another question, at what cost, how many more losses are required to be incurred before we start a new rally. ? The answer to this question is worth billions of dollars.

I like the analogy with the noise and the music...actually I think the noise is all the fud spread by mainstream media...the music you hear when you filter out all the noise...it is totally normal that we are in a longer bear market after the strong bull. The same will happen again just impossible to say when.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't hold Bitcoin for long time. on: August 31, 2018, 12:43:16 PM
Bitcoin is something for the long term investor, compared to alts it grows much slower but there is no risk that it will disappear suddenly, this is a big risk with many altcoins...the best is always to have a healthy mix of both.
