Since we have block tax and donation. We should destroy all the unsnapped coins.

Also can't see the balance of the foundation address.

http://cryptexplorer.com/address/3644s9FdFwfSn6vNYzhiWm8KGcVFBr1tHX

This address has too many records to display.

What do you expect when there are 120,000 + Blocks mined and each donated 2,000 coins to the foundation?

I only can get that wallet to open on my main frame can you imagine the size of it? Tongue

~SoopY~

Hmm can we have a rich list then?  Hopefully that'll show the balance of the foundation addy.

Yah mate we'd try to get that asap. Smiley

Cheers!
~SoopY~

once we have that foundation wallet up, we need to work out what to do with the coins.

1. the unswapped coins from the 27B

2. the block tax coins -

We need to decided how to use them all.

1. developer coins - for soopy's work and continued support.
2. coins for social marketing votes
3. coins for mintpal voting.
4. pot for games developing and lottery and poker.

Next we need to get

1. on coin market cap
2. on bittrex
3. on mintpal

I have a bee1 wallet that have about 41 million beecoins, and I just can remember the wallet password. I want to donate all these coins to the beecoin community, so I waited till now after the swap process ended.  I would like to send the wallet file to the Dev, is this OK? Smiley

Is the coin swap process automatically or manually after sending ?

Thank you snoopy for your hard work!
And please update the bee coin v2 source code on github. I would like to give it a try compiling the Mac wallet.

Can the DEV explain how the coin swap procedures interact between the beecoin V1 and V2 blockchain?

We are ready for the swap. Smiley
Great!
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Potential Premine SCAM coins: RainbowCoin Quarkbar Beecoin Evercoin on: May 04, 2014, 11:56:48 PM
Dygus could you please link to the source of your information?

Also how does changing algorithm now affect the blocks (that may have been) pre-mined? The OP isn't claiming BeeCoin is a scam just pointing out a potential vulnerability. Don't shoot the messenger because you don't like the news they bring.

If you want to help Beecoin make sure the dev sees this tread.

Disclaimer: I  own a small amount of of Beecoin (<50K) that I acquired while researching mining.

Thanks

Bee coin isn't scam there is new dev and he's changing algo from POW to X11 POS, you should read befor telling shits.

Beecoin's resurrection plan is on the move for quite some time. Check it out here:

The ValueFromAmountWithFee function in itself is innocuous.
It seems to return the value of transaction in case that the tx fee exceeds the maximum.

To see where it is used to hide premine, I searched for line

Code:
ValueFromAmountWithFee(pindexBest->nMoneySupply)

The results are here

https://github.com/search?q=ValueFromAmountWithFee%28pindexBest-%3EnMoneySupply%29&type=Code&ref=searchresults

The first coin to pull the scam is
SHACoin

followed (knowingly or not) by
Evercoin
RainbowCoin
Asiacoin
xxxcoin

This clears Beecoin and Quarkbar of suspicion.

Good to hear that beecoin is clear!

Why bees are disappearing
Honeybees have thrived for 50 million years, each colony 40 to 50,000 individuals coordinated in amazing harmony. So why, seven years ago, did colonies start dying en masse? Marla Spivak reveals four reasons which are interacting with tragic consequences. This is not simply a problem because bees pollinate a third of the world’s crops. Could this incredible species be holding up a mirror for us?

http://www.ted.com/talks/marla_spivak_why_bees_are_disappearing?language=en

I think this is a marketing point for beecoin, and we should really do something in the future help saving the bees.

I wouldn't be too surprised if he was sitting on that many Beecoin, I have over 100mil from just under a week of mining at 1.5 Mh\s

Impossible. I've mined with 5.2 mhs and got only 12-14 M per day.

That is from a few weeks ago when Diff was easier, I only get a couple M per day now
[/quote]
You can see the difficulty jumps from time to time. This is because of the multipools jumping in and out sweaping most of the beecoins.

Members were suggesting small tax with 24bn BEES - I was suggesting a larger block tax with 30bn BEES.

WE NEED SLIGHTLY MORE BEES, because we are already at 14bn+.

Even with 30bn, we may not see 22bn this year, because 30bn is to be achieved AFTER MANY YEARS OF COMPOUNDED POS.

So, even if we have 30bn, we need to make all our progress within the 14 - 22bn BEE range. We need to market BEECOIN aggressively within this range.

Soopy will soon be around, he is working hard behind the scenes.
I don't want to be rude, but please stop pushing ideas without critical proof. To plan a successful coin require a lot of understanding of  game theory. Be careful trying something that may eventually back fire on ourselves.

As we all know, we currently have some issues with beecoin:
1. Most of the bees are left including the original dev.
2. The Beecoin net hash rate is very low and under frequent attack by multipools. So currently most of the coins are mined by the multipools. There are huge coins waiting to be dumped.
3. Beecoin price is very low.
4. Over 60% of beecoin have been mined.

What we need to act immediately is:
1. Change the algorithm. We need a hard fork, changing the algo from scrypt  to X11 or blade256. So that we can keep the multi pools away, and avoid the incoming scrypt ASICs.
2. Change the random block rewords.
3. Adding POS.
4. Adding block tax. The tax rate is just some constant variables the bees need to decide at the last moment. But the work on the new wallet should be start right away.

As the the games or something else, these are the things that can be wait. We don't want to build the Rome city in a day.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive Flying!MANDATORY Client Update! on: April 20, 2014, 12:39:39 PM
We will soon have 15bn coins minted.

we really do need 30bn coinage.

I was advocating 12% block tax on the remaining 15bn coinage (assuming we do increase coinage). Block tax should be taken from mined and POS coins:

TAX: 2% DEV, 2% BEES, 2% PROJECTS, 6% GAMBLING GAMES.

GAMBLING GAMES are just a giveaway faucet incorporated into the wallet, but as gambling game. We want to attract non-miners to use the wallet.

These figures are really 1%, 1%, 1% and 3% respectively, of the total coinage - these figures will never really be attained, because 30bn coinage is like theoretical INFINITY.

THIS IS STILL SUBJECT TO DISCUSSION.

You have heard people say they only want 3-4% block tax how will you convince them for 12%.... 8% is in the middle , let's meet them in the middle and start going with this.

Let's get it decided today every day longer is just pushing beecoin further down the ranks.

1 are we acclerating the minting to get to POS quicker and save ourselves the hassle of algo change? and make the coin more like black coin

2. are we having 12% block tax, 8% block tax or 4% block tax.

need a poll and leave it open for one more day. No point everyone writing different things in the thread going round and round.
Yes,let's make a poll.
When the community has make up the decision, just go in action.
Time is not on our side.

great to see soopy back....

this is what we have guys so far.... this is the final confirmation before it gets implemented... please comment if you're not sure.... then we need to push ahead.

algo = x11 +pos

block tax = 2% you,  2% bees 2% development projects.

POS = 5% first year going down to 1% following year

Block scaling = keep the same  or reduce slightly to keep POS from not pushing past 24B

The logo i think is quite individual...could take what we have and just improve it a little, but yes it does really stand out. Again can vote on that later.

This is what I feel:

algo = x11 + POS or blake256 + POS or HYBRID

block tax = 2% you,  6% GAMES AND GAMBLING,  2% development projects.

POS = 5% first year going down to 1% following year

Block scaling = keep the same  or reduce slightly

COINAGE = INCREASE TO 27BN - 30BN, SO THAT A MAJOR PART OF THE 3 - 6BN COIN INCREASE CAN FUND GAMES AND GAMBLING.

GAMES AND GAMBLING, WHICH I HAVE DISCUSSED WITH SOOPY, WOULD BE GREAT IF THEY COULD BE INCORPORATED INTO THE QT CLIENT.
If we have 3bn coins going to games that give out minimum amount of bees per game, per wallet, per day - this will be much more useful than giveaway faucets - it will force people to use the qt client, thereby securing the network. Games could attract non miners (office workers, teenagers on a train with mobile device, etc) to beecoin, but my concept could be to ensure that gamers typically earn less coins than miners, and that winnings are inversely proportional to hash power.

This is just an idea that I pointed to soopy, lets see what he has to say....

Games and gambling is good but 6%? what about the bees themselves?

Also it is good to have ROI projects to get people really invovled with things.

The increased coinage would support the large portion of coins going to games and gambling- also, a portion of the coins lost by gamblers could also be used for to support bees.

We could have, block tax = 2% DEV,  6% GAMES AND GAMBLING,  2% development projects, 2% bees

This large block tax is only good if we slightly increase coinage to 27bn.

This should be debated or challenged by other members of the thread.
That's total 12% of block tax, it's way too high. In my opinion, the total block tax should be less than 3%.
And increasing the total amount of bee coin may not be a good idea.

Beecoin is coming back on track!
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive Flying!MANDATORY Client Update! on: April 18, 2014, 12:24:40 AM
We need actions. When the algo will be changed? Who will ever interest of this coin, if ther will be mined more than half of total coins.

what do you mean? people can be mining since the start so i see no issue with it, they can mine now. Although yes would be good to get the algo swapped over asap.

As far as i understood swapping the algo it will be like to create a new coin w a huge premine...
I think that we shoud fairly increase the total coins to reduce the percent of already mined coins w the old algo and to add PoS...
Then once the technical matters r solved we need a good marketing campaign to relaunch the coin...
I'm not an expert in marketing but the coin has good qualities, fair characteristics and an excellent name...
We could start from social networks and then to try to involve in the project people and companies who are related to bees and to the market of bee's products...
My brother in law has a company of propolis related products made in Italy... i think he could put a banner in his website and to talk abt the BeeCoin project to his customers... but we need to be credible with a solid base project, long term ambitions and a strong active community...

Changing algo has nothing to do with premine, not even close.
Every coin has early adopters and late comers, even bitcoin.
Beecoin has come a rough way and most of the miners are gone and even the original dev are gone because of its fairness. There are no sharks behind to pump and dump this coin. Now the bee community takes over trying to rescue it, and many of the true believers are still holding on to  solo mining just to keep the block chain running, just to keep this coin alive. It's a huge insult saying this is a premine. We must thank those still holding on mining beecoin so that we still have the chance to make a change or even make a difference.

Anyone don't like beecoin can just leave ,it's a free world, it's open source world, any one can fork some altcoin and try to make their own.
But if you belive in the bee community and willing to join, you are welcome.
Beecoin can fall, beecoin can rise. What will happen? We never know. Some say the best way to predict the future is to create it.
Let's make this happen!
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive Flying!MANDATORY Client Update! on: April 16, 2014, 12:24:34 AM
I have bought some and placed a new order for BEEs let's slowly move it forward Smiley
Buys up the price wall ourselves won't help much unless we can attract more and more people into the beecoin community. This coin won't rise without the incoming fress blood.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive Flying!MANDATORY Client Update! on: April 15, 2014, 10:33:04 AM
Bitcoin and a lot of alcoins are rising dramatically now.
Beecoin is forgotten.
