2  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.17 btc loan. Have collateral. on: December 24, 2014, 11:15:35 PM
Loan problem solved.  Made 0.30 btc on satishimines using just 0.05.

Now no need to take loan.
Seriously gambling when having taken on loans is not a good idea and is never going to help in the long run

4  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: a realistic arb. plan, buy btceUSD sell lakeUSD, just need a trading bot on: September 03, 2014, 04:25:01 PM
Any plans like this instantly fail as other people get involved in them up to the point it becomes totally unprofitable. Another reason why this won't work is the freedom of markets.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Vs. Paypal on: September 03, 2014, 04:23:28 PM
The truth is Paypal has some advantages such as buyer protection, which would prevent a lot of scams we see here. Bitcoin is wonderful technology but it cannot be said to be better for buyers in my opinion.
6  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Free 1$ worth of bitcoins for new members on: September 03, 2014, 04:20:59 PM
Very generous! Its enough for newbs to play around with too... but kids... be careful... things for free often aren't :p (and OP don't take this as slander, if you're honest, you'll appreciate this warning since you're aware of how untrustworthy some people are on this forum).
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can i get some free Bitcoin? on: September 03, 2014, 04:19:34 PM
Nothing valuable in life is free.

If you want you can use faucets however you're only collecting dust...

The best way is to buy an account and make some posts, or wait for 60 days until your account can make some posts with a signature advert. Really you're advertising for a company, in the same way as a faucet you're actually providing traffic.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin, altcoin, litcoin, dogecoin on: September 03, 2014, 04:17:58 PM
What's the difference between those coins? Does it have the same prices? Though I only hear about bitcoin a lot. What's altcoin, litcoin and dogecoin got to do?

Bitcoin = the coin created by satoshi in Jan 2009
Altcoin = alternate coin = all other coins

Litecoin = the first altcoin created in 2011
Dogecoin = another altcoin created in 2013

Litecoin is far from being the first altcoin

Sorry, but I couldn't get your point. Can you explain? Smiley

  ~~MZ~~

Its totally different

"Litecoin offers three key differences from Bitcoin, which its developers hope will make it better than Bitcoin.[6][7]

The Litecoin network aims to process a block every 2.5 minutes, rather than Bitcoin's 10 minutes, which its developers claim allows for faster transaction confirmation.[2][15] The drawbacks of faster block times are increased blockchain size, and an increase in the number of orphaned blocks. Advantages include greater resistance to a double spending attack over the same period as Bitcoin, if both networks had the same computing power.
Litecoin uses scrypt in its proof-of-work algorithm: a sequential memory-hard function requiring asymptotically more memory than an algorithm which is not memory-hard.[16]
The Litecoin network will produce 84 million litecoins, or four times as many currency units as will be issued by the Bitcoin network.
The original intended purpose of using scrypt was to allow miners to mine both Bitcoin and Litecoin at the same time.[12] The choice to use scrypt was also partially to avoid giving advantage to video card (GPU), FPGA and ASIC miners over CPU miners. Mining litecoin with a CPU or video card is approximately 1000 times slower than mining bitcoin with the same CPU or video card.

Due to Litecoin's use of the scrypt algorithm, FPGA and ASIC devices made for mining Litecoin are more complicated to create and more expensive to produce than they are for Bitcoin, which uses SHA-256.[17]"

From Wikipedia the most legitimate of sources...
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who controls the Bitcoin software? on: September 03, 2014, 04:15:05 PM
You could also make the mistake some of the media do and consider The Bitcoin Foundation to have some power over the direction of the currency. However, in reality they do not.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SSP]Silverspotcoin - Silver backed. Proof-of-value on: August 26, 2014, 09:35:37 PM
If its backed by silver, it is not as decentralised but that might actually be a good investment since it would allow a more mainstream and potentially realistic adoption by shops right?

Bookmarked this thread to see how it develops...
