1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: September 07, 2015, 05:16:48 PM
USD demand sum : 0.5M USD
USD offer sum : 3M USD

bitfinex 7days trading volume is half of bitstamp.
USD FRR now 0.025%.
no one need bitfinex margin trade.
bitfinex had  ended.

It seems that exchanges go through different stages of gathering and losing customers right now.  Very surprised kraken didnt pick up a few more customers.  I'd expect to see bitfinex back on top at some point, bitstamp dont even trade LTC.

Agreed, I expect to see them at the top again. The ecosystem created by them (exchange, margin trading, liquidity providing) is very powerful and will draw people back again. However, they will need to 'inspire confidence' in their lost customers since I think a loss of confidence (as well as an ill timed fee change) was what drove many customers away. In the interim, dropping fees could be a nice incentive to get people back.

My 0.02c anyways.

I beleive this has a lot to do with dropping USD rates:

Bitfinex used to be way above the rest when it comes to volume, however after the recent 'events' a lot of BTCUSD volume has moved to other exchanges.

Thanks for the post unclescrooge, much appreciated.
7  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Caution advised when using Bitfinex - High default probability on: August 09, 2014, 09:16:20 PM
Good article with a lot of good info in it. However, I think that the rate the market is willing to lend/borrow funds at is somewhat supply/demand driven (due to market inefficiency??) and not purely risk to default driven. But I might wrong on this one and I'm still thinking about the article. I need sleep :-)

Does anyone know if there are plans on BitFinex to add Call/Put options as another financial instrument to their system? This could greatly assist in protecting traders/users against flash crashes.
9  Economy / Securities / Re: [RETURN] Announcing CoinReturn Financial IPO! on: June 24, 2014, 02:09:44 PM
Thats funny that this  SamboNZ has defended 2 scams, CoinPal and CoinReturn... Starting to think we may have a link here. Time to start digging....

@RiverBoatBTC 1) As an indication, how expensive are your services for fraud protection? 2) If I make use of your services, can I make your findings public? 3) What happens if/when you are wrong about something? 4) Are you aware of trustworthy securities out there? I (or maybe a group of people) might be willing to enlist your services for information on trustworthy securities.
10  Economy / Securities / Re: [RETURN] Announcing CoinReturn Financial IPO! on: June 24, 2014, 01:31:56 PM
... NEVER would I've expected that Return turns out to be a Scam...

Can I ask why?

Compared with the other shit on Cryptostocks, I just thought return was one of the trustworthy stocks. Dodged a bullet there ^^

Agreed.

I was fortunate to get out of RETURN shares at more than what I bought for initially and overall my CS portfolio is still worth more than what I put in. However, I doubt that this will stay this way.

Fingers burned, lesson learned, I won't be putting anything more into CS securities.
11  Economy / Securities / Re: [RETURN] Announcing CoinReturn Financial IPO! on: June 18, 2014, 05:49:20 AM
Given:

1) NotLambchop posts "this is a scam" on almost every thread on Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Securities promoting a new "security"
2) 99% of threads started on Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Securities are promoting a scam of some sort

Then:
NotLambchop will have a 99% accuracy.

Pretty genius I'd say...

Any news on this?
13  Economy / Securities / Re: *^*Potential SCAM WARNING*^* [HAVELOCK] New IPO'S Suspect on: June 11, 2014, 05:30:54 AM
My 2c: If RiverBoatBTC wasn't trying to sell his services I would take him much more seriously. Statements like

I found criminals hosting stocks on both today one being quintobtc on crypto and the other being a new one on havelock.

don't really help your case, why name quintobtc on CS and not the company on Havelocks?

Don't get me wrong, I do expect to be paid for doing work, but I don't think starting a thread and giving vague hints about who might be criminals is sending the correct message. You aren't doing the community any service that way.

All that said, raising awareness about scams is extremely important! There is much and much more to be done on this front and I believe this is the correct direction to move in:

Do you care to explain how you background check your IPO's or is it a super classified from the bitcoin world. I am sure all the investors on your site would love to know.

Why doesn't Havelocks and CS make more of the info they use to do background checks public? Think about a company listed on the NYSE and how much information is publicly available on their directors/execs?
14  Economy / Securities / Re: [Havelock] Bitcoin Difficulty Derivative (BDD) on: June 07, 2014, 07:06:14 PM
Hi, I am also very new here, however I would like to give Chellger my take on the BDD Fund, please correct me where I am wrong. I think my explanation below is oversimplified, but much better than saying B.SELL is shorting B.MINE:

While you get to essentially short B.MINE with B.SELL, I wouldn't call it shorting because their prices both derive from the bitcoin difficulty and not B.MINE. Also, when shorting a security you can potentially lose much more than what you spent on that security, whereas with B.SELL the maximum you can lose is the amount spent on the contract itself (i.e. the price at which you bought it). The nice thing that B.SELL provides is hedging your SHA256/BTC mining activities against difficulty increases.

Think of it this way, the sum of what B.SELL and B.MINE can payout (in total) is equal to the amount raised by the BDD fund from selling B.EXCH contracts. Buying the contracts at the correct prices is therefore your main concern as you can then get a bigger piece of the pie.

If you really want to delve in deep, consider learning more about derivative pricing models, as both B.MINE and B.SELL derive their value from mining difficulty.
15  Economy / Securities / Re: [CRYPTOSTOCKS] Project Reviews on: June 06, 2014, 04:53:09 AM
Agreed, RETURN is probably the only company I would invest in right now on CS. Other good ones are DEBT, MSP and COINFARM, however COINFARM's dividends are constantly decreasing because they are not reinvesting enough in mining hw. Also, note that DEBT and MSP are listed by the same person.

BTW, anyone here use https://litecoininvest.com/ ? They don't have a lot of options, but they are planning to list BTC based securities in the future.
16  Economy / Securities / Re: Havelock, Cryptostocks and whats more? on: June 04, 2014, 07:07:46 PM
Apologies for resurrecting this thread, but has anyone here invested on https://litecoininvest.com/ or perhaps listed a security/asset? If yes, what was your experience with them?
17  Economy / Securities / Re: [RETURN] Announcing CoinReturn Financial IPO! on: June 03, 2014, 11:10:02 AM
Does anyone maybe have experience listing a security with them? I wonder what their process is with regards to vetting new listings. So far they look much better at it than CS!
18  Economy / Securities / Re: [RETURN] Announcing CoinReturn Financial IPO! on: June 03, 2014, 10:53:45 AM
What do you guys think of Havelock Investments? I would like to see Return, Coinfarm, MSP and Debt move to Havelocks.
19  Economy / Securities / Re: WARNING: Crypto::stocks currently not allowing withdrawals on: June 02, 2014, 07:21:17 AM
I almost listed something on Cryptostocks, but think I will wait and reassess before I do. What we need as a community is to not accept these low standards of service. I really like the idea of what Cryptostocks provides and there definitely is a gap in the market for it, but their execution is terrible. Does anyone know of similar security exchanges? Havelock Investments seems decent, but there are very few securities listed on their exchange.
20  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [IPO] CoinPal - Crypto-Currency Exchange & Profit Switching Mining Pool {NEW} on: April 17, 2014, 03:44:50 AM
This is quoted from coinpal's announcement on cryptostocks earlier, right before latest dividend payment:

"We are unable to use the logo that we created at first, because of the character being copyrighted by Bethseda  (which we were unaware of in the beginning).  We had another source for a new design and logo that headed south as well.  So we are working night and day to get this looking sharp and on schedule for you guys."

I think we can assume the "headed south" part is referring to someone on this thread Cheesy
