I've only gotten 17 scam attempts yet since creating my account and opening a topic here.
Been there, done that. Did you get loads of them tell you that Escrow doesn't help the trade because Skrill is reversible, and then say that you can do in smaller amounts to start? That's always my favourite one. shdvb is legit though, sometimes you just gotta pay those fees!

If bitcoin is ever to become mainstream then it needs to sort out its achilles heel. That is buying bitcoin in the first place. The process should be so easy that even your gran can do it. Unfortunately at the moment its way to complicated.
People won't buy bitcoin if they don't understand how to and if none buys bitcoin no one will spend bitcoin except geeks and criminals.
I disagree it is too complicated, but I do think the problem is people may think it is too complicated. IMO a good start to change this would be a social media campaign (facebook) showing the few simple steps on how to set up an online wallet and buy coins from localbitcoins or whatever. Shared this on your timeline, and offer to help any friends who may need it. It's something I have considered doing myself, but obviously the effect would be negligible. Done by a larger organisation, but then spread by many of us on here, it could have much more success.

I used one before for a while, but then it stopped working, can't remember the name now.
I also would like to use another one, but you should be careful about what you install. An android app showing the bitcoin price could be an ideal place to install malware to steal any wallets on your phone, as I read on here before.

I love how FT waits until after what could well be the bottom of the downtrend to post this.
Timing is everything What is also amusing, at least to me, are those members who are so angered by an anti-bitcoin post that they don't even bother to read to the end to see that it is actually a news article and not written by the poster before launching their retort

ESCROW a whopping $5 payment, wow seen it all. LOL... LOL Do people who do Escrow normally have a min fee? I mean 2% of $5 is 10c, can't imagine anyone doing it for that amount?

Don't think neg trust is ever removed. I called out a scammer a while back and in return he used 5 or 6 of his alt accounts to leave me genative feedback. Sucks, but thet's just the way it is.
