You could do an Tools | Export private keys. That asks you for a password before allowing you to do it.

I have a suggestion. This wallet should add the ability to import your own addresses which would have been generated out of this client. This would prove to be useful for the people that have generated their vanity addresses but they would not be able to import it in MultiBit HD.
That would mean that you wouldn't be able to recover your bitcoin, in extremis, from your wallet words as the wallet would no longer be fully deterministic. As MultiBit HD is targeted for new users of bitcoin we (Gary and I) decided to keep this wallet fully deterministic.

You can restore your wallet using your wallet words into: Lighthouse (Win/Mac/Linux) and Breadwallet (iOS) If your wallet isn't syncing then check your network has port 8333 open, which is the port used by the Bitcoin network. More help: https://multibit.org/en/help/hd0.2/verify-network.html

Try this:
I see "There was an error in creating a connection to the Bitcoin network" in the corner
You most likely have a corrupted file in your wallet directory. Here's the procedure to resolve the situation:
1. Start MultiBit HD as normal 2. Unlock your wallet and click Finish as normal 3. Click "Manage Wallet" in the sidebar and click the "Wallet dashboard" button 4. Make a note of your "application directory" and your "wallet directory" (copy/paste into a text editor is useful here) 5. Close MultiBit HD in the usual way 6. Open a file browser and navigate to the "application directory" and from there into your "wallet directory" 7. Locate the file called mbhd.spvchain and delete it 8. Start MultiBit HD as normal and unlock your wallet 9. You should now be able to connect to the Bitcoin network and after a much longer synchronization process than usual your balance will be restored

It's in Manage wallet | Empty wallet
|
|
|
When you empty your wallet it asks you for a bitcoin address so you can send it wherever you want.

Old versions of MultiBit Classic send what is nowadays too low a fee (by a factor of ten).
That's why we recommend everyone keeping up-to-date.
If it's not propagating then going down the 'Reset blockchain and transactions' route is the way to go. But upgrade to version 0.5.19 first

For those having the same Problem, I just found a solution. The problem seems to be related to having open too many wallets. I had 7 wallets open and the sync was way tow slow. 3-4days for a complete resync. Now I have closed all wallets but one and restarted the client. Now it has alread synced 1/3 in only 10 minutes!
Hope this helps someone, and please excuse my message to this old thread.
That's good advice. It's one of the reasons why we moved away from the 'all wallets open' in Classic and introduced 'switch wallet' in HD.

How about trying a different network ? Coffee shop wifi is normally fast enough to sync.
Also, if you don't have your wallet words you really should empty that wallet and create a new one. WRITE DOWN THE WALLET WORDS of the new wallet.
Without your wallet words you significantly increase your chances of having problems as you cannot restore your backups or create your wallet afresh on a new machine.

You could try downloading Lighthouse ( https://www.vinumeris.com/lighthouse) and use your wallet words in that. Lighthouse is also based on bitcoinj (same as MultiBit HD) so if it is a port thing then that would probably exhibit the same lack of connectivity though.

The latest code should rebroadcast unconfirmed txes at startup. In MultiBit HD (but not Classic) we show the hex of the tx in the transaction details raw transactions panel, specifically to copy-pasta into something like blockchain.info/pushtx

Im using multibit 0.5.16 (kind of old, I know I should update, but Im afraid somehow the BTCs get evaporated in the process ) In fact I have downloaded the last electrum version and Im looking to generate a new seed/wallet and operate from there Thank you all for the answers, the 72h one has sound me refreshing. It was a very decent amount (0,8BTC) to get lost Old versions of MultiBit Classic attach too low a fee. You need to be using the newest code. As the transaction has been sent now you'll just have to wait.

Yes, it looks like it cannot sync. MultiBit HD need ports 8333 open so that it can connect to the Bitcoin network.
If you have that port blocked or a firewall is blocking it then you won't be able to connect.
Also, rarely, if you have a bitcoind running locally and have some fancy port forwarding rules that can do the same.
Networking/ firewalls depends very much on your operating system and your local network setup.

it took time but finally confirmed
Glad that your transactions finally confirmed. Older versions of MultiBit Classic set a very low fee - please upgrade to the latest version (0.5.19) which adds a higher default. And you can adjust it upwards (there is a fee slider in Preferences).

Hello Everybody, All over Bitcoin, there is frustration now that the network is running at capacity and there is seemingly a permanent backlog of unconfirmed transactions. How to deal with it ? Both MultiBit Classic (0.5.19) and MultiBit HD have a fee slider in Preferences so that you can increase your fee rate. If you are using an old version of MultiBit Classic: + Upgrade to 0.5.19 and save yourself a lot of bother. The old versions of MultiBit Classic attach a far too low fee. Upgrade. + Consider upgrading to MultiBit HD - https://multibit.org/en/help/hd0.1/how-to-upgrade-from-classic.htmlMore useful resources: + In MultiBit HD you can see the fee rate on your sends by double clicking on the transaction in Payments. + https://tradeblock.com/bitcoin has a good presentation of the current state of the network. + You can see what fee you need here: https://bitcoinfees.21.coUntil the block size increases transactions with with too low fees are just not going to confirm like they used to. Miners are only going to include transactions with the highest fees into their blocks.

The equivalent to 'Reset blockchain and transactions' for MultiBit HD is Tools | Repair wallet
