1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S1 Strange Problems on: July 15, 2014, 01:09:45 PM
Turns out it was an IP conflict with my laptop.........., guess I should have thought of that before.

Thanks for the help though.

Does anyone know anything about updating the miners? I want to be able to tweak them for optimum performance, but the only things I've changed so far is the basics to get it mining, and then overclocked them via Putty. Do firmware/software updates exist for these type of products?

Thanks again,

Hiya, thanks for the responses.

I've fallen ill so not been able to do too much.

I will have a look at the network scanner to see if I can pick it up.

None of the miners are on DHCP, and I've been using port 22 on via Putty, is that the right one?

Good call about the cable and network port though, I will give that a go next time it goes down and see what happens Smiley

Hadn't thought of trying via ssh

Just tried via putty, and no joy. It says that the connection is refused

How do you mean by hacked and power cycle?

I've rebooted at the PSU every time it goes idle now as I can't reboot via the web gui
4  Bitcoin / Hardware / Antminer S1 Strange Problems on: July 14, 2014, 08:00:44 PM
Hi All,

I've been having some problems with one of my miners, and actually was the first one I bought.

I've noticed over the last few weeks, that it seems to go idle after about 3 days. This wasn't too much of a problem, as I am normally around to spot it quickly and reboot which seems to sort it, but obviously a bit of a pain if I am not in or asleep.

However, I can no longer access the login page for this troublesome miner, but I can access the others fine. And according to my pool info, it's hashing quite happily.

I was thinking as to whether or not it needs updating, but haven't looked into how to do this yet.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks in advance Smiley

tried to post earlier but i don't think it has gone up.

Are there any coupon codes still valid? happy to buy one off of someone...

These guys certainly seem to know their stuff, and I'm pleased I didn't jump in and fork out on 10+ KNC miners

Cheers for that, and yeah, you seem to be right :S
7  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Gone dead overnight? on: April 22, 2014, 05:52:06 PM
it was out for quite a while though, I did try a couple of times during the day. Well hopefully it doesn't repeat itself

lol ok. I am fairly convinced it was connected, as I came on here to post for help Wink

I'm on wireless so I guess that is a possibility.

For reference, other than waiting, what's the fix for it? I did try rebooting etc...
10  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Gone dead overnight? on: April 22, 2014, 05:23:00 PM
Ok, well it seems to have sprung back into life now.

So are you saying that sometimes just plugging into USB isn't enough? Is it good practice to boot up with it already plugged in?
11  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer U2 - What software? on: April 22, 2014, 05:11:34 PM
I started a seperate topic but haven't had any response yet.

It's saying there is a problem with the URL/Pool info.

I just reloaded it to get the error wording, but its started up fine Huh??

Any ideas?
12  Bitcoin / Mining support / Gone dead overnight? on: April 22, 2014, 11:05:57 AM
Thought I would start a new topic, as it is a new problem.

I have eventually got my Antminer U2 working and mining on a pool. I didn't run it 24/7. Every time I wanted to stop it running, I would close CMD window, and when I wanted to start it again, I click my batch file/script. This has worked fine. I unplugged the miner overnight, plugged it in this morning, but now when I run it, it tells me I have error with URL.

This was the same error I was getting, when I had the worker name wrong. Not only have I not changed anything since then, but I have double-checked and everything is as it was.

So what's happened and how do I fix it?

for ref, my script is -

bfgminer.exe  -o stratum+tcp://eu-stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u xxx -p xxx -S antminer:all --set-device antminer:clock=x0981 -S all --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100

Any ideas/info?
13  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer U2 - What software? on: April 22, 2014, 09:35:08 AM
Any ideas why my script isn't working anymore.

It was running fine, just went to load it, and its now saying I have errors. Well, nothing has changed, unless my pool has decided to change something?
14  Bitcoin / Hardware / UK Hardware Suppliers on: April 22, 2014, 09:25:33 AM
Hi All,

Just a quick question more than anything else. I have been having a look round for UK suppliers of mining hardware and accessories, but I've only managed to find a couple of basic sites so far.

Primarily, I am after a couple of decent USB hubs to run some USB miners. I initially went through Amazon, but the supplier couldn't deliver to UK.

Any ideas/links?

Thanks,

Right........................who wants to give me a stupidity slap first???

It seems to be working now, it was an ID10T error!

I had changed my worker name on BTCGuild and hadn't amended the file.

Thanks for all help and input so far, sorry that I made stupid error.
16  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer U2 - What software? on: April 19, 2014, 08:50:40 AM
Ok, so "stratum+tcp://" and "http://" are the same? I've tried both but with no success

If the Antminer isn't getting the correct power requirements to run, would BFGminer not through up an error? I do have a USB3.0 port on the laptop which I haven't tried yet

Also, does it matter what order the commands are in? Here's my 'work in progress' .bat

bfgminer.exe -o http://stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u XXX -p XXX -S antminer:all --set-device antminer:clock=x0781

BFG is saying that the URL isnt correct
17  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer U2 - What software? on: April 19, 2014, 07:36:22 AM
Kabopar - Well that makes sense, as I have probably confused myself in the process of trying to get it working.

I tried using the config you suggested, and its not finding my URL. The address is correct (eu-stratum.btcguild.com:3333), I am just wondering if the prefixes are correct?

Just for clarity, the Antminer is plugged straight into laptop. I want to be able to get one working first before even thinking about buying a rig steup
18  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer U2 - What software? on: April 18, 2014, 08:01:44 AM
cgminer.exe -set-device antminer:clock=x0981 -o http://eu-stratum-btcguild.com:3333 -u (username) -p (password) -S antminer:all

that just causes CMD to open then close quickly.

when I ran it through exe and input variables via CMD, that's when I just got the blank screen with occassional blinking cursor

19  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer U2 - What software? on: April 17, 2014, 02:55:24 PM
Hiya,

thanks for the reply,

Yeah, I have, and all I get from that is a blank CMD screen, with a cursor flashing occassionally. I've left this running for a couple of hours and no change.
20  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer u2 Easy Setup Guide on: April 17, 2014, 10:56:28 AM
I have tried to follow these steps to get mine working, and still have no luck (I have posted a new thread). CGminer opens, then closes without doing much Sad
