1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XDAG] Dagger - New Community-based Cryptocurrency - First Mineable DAG ! on: April 23, 2018, 08:59:06 PM
Lol. It's change into fundamental structure of a coin, which require hard fork, which is in fact change of consensus rules, of given inflation.
As I say it's change of consensus rules.
Do as you want, it's a not trustless consensus, if you change inflation rates after 3 months of launching blockchain/dag, just because you want to lower it (some group).

It was designed, as it was designed. I dont see any major cryptocurrency that changed their inflation consensus rules. Nor Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Monero, Peercoin, nor any of the known currencies for me. Only shitcoins or erc-20 do such things as burning coins or tokens, or changing inflation.

Please read my comments I have already made. What I emphasized was that the PoW consensus is the basic consensus of XDAG. As any supply change may be a critical decision, that's why the PoW consensus needs to be used rather than any individual preference. If you disagree the PoW consensus please advise which consensus of XDAG is based on and which better consensus you would like to use other than PoW. No matter what the final decision will be, the PoW consensus needs to be respected, and the results should be implemented too.

Your opinion is respectful. You are able to vote via the PoW consensus, other than individual preference.

BTCWhat is the voting address?

Reduction Poll Address:

https://[Suspicious link removed]/forms/KUat1RskAdP0YjN73

You will see how the dev team ignore the community's poll. :-)

I don't believe the team will seriously consider the supply reduction. It's more like a cheating and help them to manipulate the price up. But they have to make an announcement anyway, sooner or later.

The poll was simply to gauge interest of what people want. Gauging interest like this is also quite hard because there are various ways of cheating the system.

Some ways which are considered:

Poll, 1 person 1 vote with open results on XDAG.io website.
PoW, the miners decide the result.
Captcha solving.
Tx voting.

The problem with the Google Forms poll is that it allows for multiple votes, which resulted in malicious attempts to skew the vote in one direction. The result is that a majority of the votes want as much reduction as possible to increase the profit as much as possible. This is why the polling system has to be reconsidered.

Something further to consider is that the poll was never said to be a final vote which determines the future of the coin. There has been a lot of criticism because of this which is unnecessary. There is no need to decide now, rather it is better to wait a little bit and let PoW decide. This is perhaps the best and most decentralized way of deciding.

With that said, there are some further improvements to the core in PR #88 on GitHub which is currently under review.

Thanks for you reply.

Response: It is true that Google Forms poll has potential probability to allow for multiple votes. I understand your assumption and concerns, so let's vote again.

Response: I agree that the PoW is the consensus of XDAG. The future of XDAG needs to be determined by PoW consensus.

Thank you for your elaborate response as well.

As for a timeline, there is nothing decided just yet--hence why we are having this conversation right now.

Because the mainnet was launched January 5th, a 6 month halving could occur on June 5th or 6th.
Thus I believe that a PoW consensus would have to be reached at that time whether or not a reduction is plausible.

It's a kinda "mine-fast coins now, abd later we will reduce supply to make it harder". Consensuses cant be changed, just like that. Normally proposed amount is being held till the end of coin. So, I think it's not a good move. Maybe make some restriction for total supply (even tho I wouldnt), but not for mining rewards, and mining halving lol. That's not how trustless consensuses work.

Thanks for your comments. Actually, the XDAG consensus would never be changed if we are still complying the PoW consensus. The common consensus being used in cryptocurrenty world are PoW (Bitcoin), PoS (DASH, NEO) and dPos (EOS), etc. All these coins are following their own consensus. Please keep in mind that XDAG is a PoW coin and the consensus of XDAG is PoW consensus. Therefore, the reduction decision should be determined by the PoW consensus rather than any individual's preference. That's the right way and only way to archive the community consensus unless people wouldn't accept XDAG is a PoW coin.

If people don't think PoW is a fair way as a consensus, that being said they disagree the most important basis of bitcoin invented by Satoshi Nakamoto. PoW is the cornstone of the entire cryptocurrency world.

When the dev announce the final reduction decision!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dev team seems like intended to keep silence and wish the community forget about the reduction poll results. We didn't forget and we will ask again and again. What's going on with the reduction poll and when reduce!

Does it take such long time to make a decision? Why did you hide? Please let the community know what happen?

they decided to ignore it because people could make more than one vote each.
a new poll will be forthcoming.

The team needs to make announcement to the community, no matter what the poll results are. Give the entire community an official feedback is a very basic respect to those participated the poll, isn't it? They are not ignoring the poll results, they are ignoring the basic respect it suppose to be given.

i agree, however.. when the original dev left, he left it in the hands of the community and unfortunately this thread was handed over to someone who is now not very active. It would be nice to see more updates on the OP of news etc...

Agree.

Doing a new voting is fine, no problem at all. But need make a timely announcement to the community that we will have a new poll for the voting because certain reasons, rather than say nothing. And give the approximate timeline when a new poll will be or tell everyone the time is to be determined but will happen soon.

That's it! Making an announcement needs the team 10 minutes, 1 hour, a few days, a few weeks, etc? How long it needs to take?

More and more people are becoming highly doubt the team is hiding somethings which would not be expected to be exposed. If the assumption is wrong please use their action to prove we are wrong and kill the rumor.

Otherwise, will gradually loose community's trust. Let's watch the next steps of the team.

how many people even know where to find the poll???....so you arent even getting the majority...just the select few who came up w/ the idea voting on it

if you are talking about the most recent poll to discuss supply reduction, it received over 1000 votes.
However, the poll was not a final decision, it was the first step to gauge interest in the issue, from the community.
the final vote will be published in due course, with a new poll, which is run for a long period of time and shared so more people can participate.

i hope this helps.

1) As a poll, the team needs set a clear time frame. I never see any public poll has no due date means the team can determine when to terminate the poll at their best interests.
2) The team should respect the results of the public poll, even if the results could not be what the team expects.
3) We understand the poll may not be a final decision however if the team is trying to over ignore the voice of the community. The team will loose the trust of the community at all.

I agree. I can understand why the team does not expect to reduce the supply from 4 billions to 0.5 billions with 6 months halving cycle. It's too soon. However, 1 billion @ 1 year would be a good idea. There will definitely be a compromised reduction decision made between the team and everyone in the community. Again, team needs to consider the voice of the community. Without strong community, this coin is nothing especially for a non-ico, non-premining project.

The actual total supply is 50,000,000,000,000,000 ENU. Why you claimed only 500,000,000 ENU?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ENU] Enumivo: An alternate EOS-compatible blockchain. on: February 10, 2018, 05:55:40 AM
The total supply is still over-huge. 3000 coins means very very very tiny piece. Considering the eth gas fee (even if very very low gas fee), the cost for getting each coin are still high if you calculate the value of each coin.

Therefore, the airdrop value is low. Again, caculate it you will know what I am talking about.

The solution is very easy to verify if @chuyuchien1 is the 9 eth sender. You can privately ask @chuyuchien1 resend a very small and specific amount of ETH (for example, 0.0001211 ETH) from his exchange address to your wallet. If the amount you received matches the amount you told him, then he is the 9 ETH person.

Easy? It's time for you to verify your project is not scammer.

that total supply includes the 8 decimals. it is 1,000,000,000

totalSupply is 100,000,000,000,000,000 !!!!!!!!!!! Not 1,000,000,000

You may need to do more research. But if you would like to believe Total Supply is 1,000,000,000. No problem, do it.

Its so long for waiting this ICO  Cry

There are several projects out there that are constantly delaying the announcement of their ICO date. It might be a strategic move to first grow their follower base and keep the tension. If it's a successful strategy, then why not...

You are right, nucleus vision is already getting viral and the much needed hype, im sure this ico will sell out in few minutes of opening, i hope ico will open in February as delaying too much and reduce the positive sentiment.

they have high hype, follower and telegram member, why still delay the announcement??

The team is just playing a game with the whole community. Ignore the people who was supporting them in the very beginning and with white list. Yes, the ratio is 4:1. So what? They give 14 days to invite everyone to flooding into the airdrop. I totally understand why a lot of community people called this is a scammer. LOL
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Gems is a good project, worth to participate the coin on: January 09, 2018, 04:14:37 AM
Gems is a good project, worth to participate the coin.

The Gems Alpha is created with the mindset of moving efficiently to create real world utility, rather than building in the dark. In the Gems Alpha, you’ll be able to log into the Gems Platform via Metamask, select a job (there’s only 1), get assigned a task, complete a simple arithmetic task, earn Gems on the Ropsten test network after your work is verified by another worker, and withdraw your Gems. On our end, we’ll be able to test the scale of what we’ve built and gather valuable feedback for moving forward.

i've been researching ICO's as thats what will give the greatest returns, and Gems is one ive been made aware of that i'm quite excited about.

They describe themselves as a "Decentralized Mechanical Turk" that is built on Ethereum. On it people can hire workers to perform "micro-tasks" that can be completed online in return for tokens. This is already a huge industry but as they're using blockchain tech they can improve upon the existing business model, their site lists the advantages as: "Gems reduces consensus by redundancy, increases pay for individual workers while decreasing total pay for requesters, creates efficient interfaces, eliminates large fees, allows others to build innovative DApps on top of it, and enables computer literate workers with internet to work with or without a bank account."

Its started by a couple of brothers who are both 22 year old Harvard dropouts. They left to start a site called gifs.com which I thought was very well made, on the site you can make gifs from videos and using the site is easy and intuitive, hence showing they know how to give a good UX. They also have the co-founder of twitter and the co-founder of reCAPTCHA on board, as well as others. Their blog and twitter are also quite active.

Imo this is not too dissimilar to bounty0x which has shown solid gains and is going for a business idea that has been well verified and proven to be profitable. They haven't said when they'll start the ico but im gonna keep looking for updates.

You closed the entire website and the Discord channel without any notice and announcement. A lot of community members got panic when they found the Discord is closed. Why did not you give a notice of your actions ahead to the community by message, discord or bitcointalk? You didn't. Any normal person should suspect this is not appropriate.

If you would like to get respect from the community, you may want to respect the community members as well. If we could switch the role, you should understand why people are panic and why angry.

If I misunderstood you I would like to say sorry and apologize.

How to transact my bitcoins after hard-fork without losing the forked altcoins (i.e., bitcoin diamond, BCX, Super Bitcoin, etc) which lack of replay attack protection except for export my private key and recovery phrase?

Current status: In order to gain various hard-forked altcoins, I stored my bitcoins into my hardware Ledger Nano S wallet before hard-fork. After hard-fork, I am going to move my bitcoins from my hardware wallet into exchanges for transaction. As some of the hard-forked altcoins have no replay attack protection and no new launched corresponding wallets by the Dev, if I move my bitcoins to exchanges the altcoins will be moved and I will lose the ownership of these altcoins.

Question: I am wondering how I can use my bitcoins without losing my hard-forked altcoins.

I appreciate your help.
