It would be easy to write off the Bell case as an outlier — a rare case of government overreaction — if not for the fact that in the decade following his initial prosecution, lots of other people have found themselves confronted by police, and some have even gone to jail, for implementing a non-extreme, but central, element of the package he put together. That element? Outing and identifying bad actors in government... I fully support the idea, even as a Liberal.

Dude, there isn't a debate. Austrian economics is the equivalent of Phlogiston while Keynesian economics... is just science. And, yeh, it is popular around gov't circles, despite being patently false, but that's because rich conservatives have business partners that, usually, want less regulation and less government intervention. If you wanna hear a RELLY funny story about rampant deflation, search "The Great Depression" in Wikipedia.

I apologize, but I just saw "early adopter" and got >9000 points of rage. If the bitcoin system were fair, they'd either distribute it equally or just fundamentally change how you get bitcoins. But, then again, life ain't fair either. Congrats on your success of being there first.

I'm a poor person. I know, libertarians deny that we exist, but we REALLY do! It can be scientifically proven, in fact! So, dawg, I herrrd about your bitcoin thingy on Something Awful and, as a ~~european socialist~~ liberal, I thought it was a bad idea. Your market crashed, and, yet, you guys persevered; and now the bitcoin is, well, REALLY valuable. So, I kinda want to get in on this, as a dirty stinking slut-whore. I want to buy a Vidya game for mah loaned Playstation 2, but, like I said, I am a poor person. Therefore, I need 2 bitcoins to exchange for into American dollars to exchange into a precious, precious pounds. So, yeah, it's better to be honest than to be one of those 5 post, albeit less transparent, whores. (I'll probably be seen in the economics and/or politics boards.)
