1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Donations... really? on: July 06, 2011, 01:59:15 AM
Hi,

I really don't get how everyone is putting a "liked my post? donate!" in their signature. I mean, come on, wtf? Now you expect me to pay you because you voluntarily decided to express an opinion and it wasn't total crap?

What's with the greed, dude...

Seriously, how much do people expect to make this way? A dollar a week? 1.20$?

I propose an unconditional, unlimited ban for everbody having a bitcoin address in their signature!

Why, it is annoying.

That's why I, rather arrogantly, just f'ing tell you to.
U DONATIN' YET?

Quote

...[Bell] calls his idea “assassination politics:” An anonymous prediction market in the deaths of political figures. In a prediction market, participants place bets on events, and collect if their predictions are correct (the players who aren’t correct lose their money).

Simply put, Bell’s idea is that anonymous, untraceable digital money will allow the enforcement of “good behavior” on politicians. A politician who pisses people off will find his or her name listed in the “assassination market.” Once enough money is in the pool under that politician’s name to make it worth the risk, someone will “bet” on when that politician is going to die, kill (or arrange the killing of) the politician at the time in question, and collect the pool money...

...Bell’s essay took emerging technological developments to their theoretical extreme, but government prosecutors couldn’t try him for “felony production of essays.” Instead, they patched together a crazy quilt of allegations, ranging from tax evasion to “stalking a federal employee” — some possibly true, some probably false, most unworthy of being called “crimes” even if true.

It would be easy to write off the Bell case as an outlier — a rare case of government overreaction — if not for the fact that in the decade following his initial prosecution, lots of other people have found themselves confronted by police, and some have even gone to jail, for implementing a non-extreme, but central, element of the package he put together. That element? Outing and identifying bad actors in government...

I fully support the idea, even as a Liberal.

I like to approach the bitcoin idea as, honestly, a speculative market that will "last forever".

I'd invest my time in it.

Obvious bump is obvious.

And the good lord (of whoring) said, "the proletarian that earns his bread by honest work is gaybo." Do you dare question the word of your god? No? GIVE ME MONEY!
6  Other / Beginners & Help / The Official Church Of Whoorin'. FIX'D CHURCH IS UP! on: July 05, 2011, 09:28:18 PM
I've been noticing at least 100 people imitating my 3 or 4 post joke account on here and, in response, I've decided to make the official Church of Whoorin'...

I fixed it by running Linux.

English speaking Muslims are all in europe.

I doubt that you'll get any good bit-reception, or whatever.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What "speed" should I be mining bitcoins? It seems slow. What am I doing wrong on: July 04, 2011, 06:42:40 PM
Don't you have the mandatory fifty-three Radeon GPUs, water-cooled in an open case, with the fourteen 5.6 Ghz Core I7?
And don't you have to balance it all on your boobs/moobs?
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What the Early Adoptors Don't want you to know on: July 04, 2011, 06:36:42 PM
Dude, there isn't a debate.

Austrian economics is the equivalent of Phlogiston while Keynesian economics... is just science.
And, yeh, it is popular around gov't circles, despite being patently false, but that's because rich conservatives have business partners that, usually, want less regulation and less government intervention.

If you wanna hear a RELLY funny story about rampant deflation, search "The Great Depression" in Wikipedia.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm an undeserving early adopter, and here is my side. on: July 04, 2011, 06:26:31 PM
I apologize, but I just saw "early adopter" and got >9000 points of rage.
If the bitcoin system were fair, they'd either distribute it equally or just fundamentally change how you get bitcoins.

But, then again, life ain't fair either.
Congrats on your success of being there first.

I'm a poor person.

I know, libertarians deny that we exist, but we REALLY do!
It can be scientifically proven, in fact! Cool

So, dawg, I herrrd about your bitcoin thingy on Something Awful and, as a european socialist liberal, I thought it was a bad idea.
Your market crashed, and, yet, you guys persevered; and now the bitcoin is, well, REALLY valuable.

So, I kinda want to get in on this, as a dirty stinking slut-whore.

I want to buy a Vidya game for mah loaned Playstation 2, but, like I said, I am a poor person.

Therefore, I need 2 bitcoins to exchange for into American dollars to exchange into a precious, precious pounds.

So, yeah, it's better to be honest than to be one of those 5 post, albeit less transparent, whores.
Grin

(I'll probably be seen in the economics and/or politics boards.)
