2  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FORTUNEJACK dice game "provably fair" is now provably fraud! on: October 09, 2019, 08:36:02 AM
Sorry to re-post in this thread, but would some more science being something like this to back up all this help? Well could someone help me understand if it's not the case -

This is from a interesting pdf https://anonymousfiles.io/UeRFSjpa/

Quote
3.4    Reversed Commitment Order

Suppose Alice manages to convince Bob to provide 𝑠𝐵 before she provides 𝐶(𝑠𝐴). We will show in this case how Alice can gain a slight advantage over Bob (in excess of the advertised house edge) using very little computational power. One example of a site employing this flawed scheme is FortuneJack [11].

One additional aspect of the scheme used by FortuneJack is that the client can define what constitutes the winning outcome. After providing 𝑠𝐵 and receiving 𝐶(𝑠𝐴), the client can freely choose the corresponding winning range and thereby the payout. The server fixes a house edge, so that defining one of the winning range or the payout automatically fixes the other value such that in expectation, the house edge is achieved.

The client will generally pick between two game variants. The first is a high risk, high reward game. In this game type, the client wins in less than 50% of the output space. The other option is a low risk, low reward game where the client wins in more than 50% of the output space. An example of this can be seen in the image above. By observing the public log for some time, we noticed that a vast majority of players choose the high risk, high reward game, which is perhaps more in the spirit of gambling.

Undoubtedly, the server has more clear data regarding client preferences. If the server can target clients who play the high risk, high reward game, it is able to skew results in its favor by selecting an advantageous 𝑠𝐴 given its observation of 𝑠𝐵. The reason is that if the client wins in less than 50% of the output space, there is a range in the middle for which regardless of which side the client chooses, the server will always win. For the example in the image, the client wins if 𝐺(𝑠𝐴,𝑠𝐵) ∈ [0,20) or 𝐺(𝑠𝐴,𝑠𝐵) ∈ [80,100).

The client does not always switch its seed after every roll. Instead, the game function is computed with an incrementing nonce over many rolls. This complicates the attack slightly, but still allows for noticeable deviations assuming a reasonably bounded maximum nonce
value. The server can simply compute the average maximum nonce value for a given client and use that as is target nonce.

Given both the client’s preference for the high risk, high reward game and a bounded nonce 𝑛∗, the server simply tries a few different hash values and computes the function below. Note that 𝐺(𝑠𝐴,𝑠𝐵) will output a list of rolls of length 𝑛∗.

𝑣(𝑠𝐴,𝑠𝐵) = ∑(𝐺(𝑠𝐴,𝑠𝐵)[𝑖] − 50)2 𝑛∗−1 𝑖=0

arg max 𝑎
𝑓(𝑥) = {𝑣(𝑎,𝑠𝐵) ∣ ∣ 𝑎 ∈ 𝜎𝐴 }

In effect, the server is looking for a seed value 𝑎 = 𝑠𝐴 such that for a given 𝑛∗ and 𝑠𝐵, there are more numbers close to 50 than would be in expectation. The value function 𝑣(𝑠𝐴,𝑠𝐵) is just one example of what the server might be optimizing for. A more sophisticated attacker would use the behavior of the client to adjust the value function.

It is not feasible to get the most optimal value 𝑎 ∈ 𝜎𝐴, since the space of all seeds is too large. However, it is enough for the server to select a small subset of 𝜎𝐴 and look for the best 𝑎 within that subset. To reduce suspicion, the server could simply generate random 𝑎 values and compute the value functions for these seeds up to a certain time threshold, so that it is harder to detect foul play.

There is not much the client can do to defend against this attack aside from choosing to play the low risk, low reward variant of the game. Proving that the server is employing such a scheme would be equally difficult without access to the entire history of rolls, which is not available to the public. Testing the random number generator would require a large amount of cryptocurrency, which might be out of reach for most clients.

3  Economy / Gambling / Re: NitroDice.com - Welcome to the new era of DICE GAMING! on: May 01, 2018, 04:18:43 AM
A couple of things to add;

a good pickup with the dicebot not matching bet ids and all being odd, but upon using dicebot on the site yourself you will see it does the exact same thing anyway. Saying this, i know from my location my latency to there hosting company i get about 300ms, but bets are slow as (less than 1 a second). Also considering between each of my slow bets there is just 5 or so getting made from other people. if the rent a server is (hot) thought there'd be at least one user with the service?

Simple site design to me could bring hope its someone outside of the bitcoin dice ring design and having a crack at there own thing; also bringing hope they aren't aware of screwing over idiots like myself that used to believe in the "probably not fucking fair" algorithm bullshit that is nearly as good as calling slot machines random..

Yet in saying all this, yeah there ain't a real amount of things that would help promote this site being all that safe in depositing your life savings on, just adding this incase being legit is on the cards - best of luck and make people have a reason too then.  The fake whale bets are also of course another bad start; yet some 'reputable' dice sites still are doing this that people seem oblivious to, because they have this "reputation" so why would anyone think otherwise?

They've been commenting here. The reason we haven't gotten 'updates' or 'ETAs' is because they just don't know, or they think they know, but they thought they knew before but were wrong, so what is not to say they are wrong again? So likely if they are confident on an ETA they will say so. Otherwise they will just tell us when it is fixed. That is the nature of troubleshooting/fixing software issues like this. Be patient ... find something else to do with your time other than whining here because the grownups in the room don't need to hear it.

Ok, now I'm getting a bit disappointed in the community.

I know they have been commenting here, but not much, and without any good story of what is going on.

When they do a maintenance where they go to a different server, they should have thought about a way to go back in case shit hits the fan.

The last part of your post cuts no ice. A lot of people have money stuck in MP, and I guess it's no problem if they have to wait a day or two. But if you have a website with a lot of users that trust you with their money, a little bit more transparency isn't too much to ask.

+2

Wouldn't keeping customers informed and feeling more in the loop just be a simple part of the whole process tho? Other than that still confident time will show an update

Yeah some sorta update be grand, worst thing i deposited twice thinking it was just the main wallet having issues and left myself nothing to muck around with.. Or maybe it was a good thing, but farout 30hrs later - someone's gotta have a rough ETA on this?

On different PC's / ISP / VPN / Devices no matter what it shows the exact same non updated thing..

18  Economy / Gambling / Re: Seuntjies DiceBot -Multi-Site, multi-strategy betting bot for dice. With Charts! on: August 22, 2015, 05:39:38 AM
I've tried on two systems and the auto withdraw option on all sites throws a 'dicebot.exe bot responding' and crashes.. Anyone else experience this at all??

Both are Win7 x64. Bug or just me?
19  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Primedice Better Bot - Fastest, lightest, advanced java based bot on: May 30, 2015, 03:19:44 AM
To avoid error 429 its not bet time, but amount of logins to there api/hr i think? To bump this thread abit can someone please recompile but remove the need to have a deposit address.. Thats the reason a few people are getting the error about the address, not the withdraw address. If your ip is restricted by primedice (Australia) you cant legally deposit, so the bot throws an error because it cannot read it from PrimeDice.. logging in via a non restricted proxy and it works fine - but slow. i removed the code but got no idea how to compile java. PM'd you blayzer if your out there still.
20  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Primedice is cheating on: May 11, 2015, 04:59:15 PM
I wouldn't say they are cheating using something as obvious as that.. but before the total bullshit streak that always seems to happen no matter what, notice the bets lag just beforehand Wink. Primedice obviously have somewhat control over bets or they would be bust long ago.. Everyone can see the verified rolls, but surely some people are smart enough to realize they have a system in place that chooses them rolls for you lol? The rolls are legit and random yes, but the rolls that end up that you win are cancelled out and made sure they out of whatever range your betting within. (Or something similar anyway)

The 20 loses in the row bullcrap happens all the time if you leave it run for too long, if i had the luck too pull odds like that so often i'd be winning the lottery monthly - yeah ok..

EDIT: Old thread but why isn't this looked into?
