You should consider doing away with the conversion to USD. Doing so creates extra risk for your company that is really unnecessary.

As an interested party in the same industry we feel that if we can make your company stronger than it will protect (y)our customers and make the Bitcoin gaming sector stronger as a whole.

Some comments:

Again doing away with the conversion to USD will alleviate all of the downside risk you are experiencing.  Leave player deposits in BTC and take your profits and convert them to USD or your currency of choice (or leave them in BTC) according to your risk management protocols.

Quote
BTC withdrawals of over US $50 will be batch-processed daily at 3pm GMT. Lesser withdrawals will be processed as quickly as possible, usually within 1-6 hours.

This is a ridiculously long time for a Bitcoin withdrawal to be processed.  As quickly as possible should be less than 1 hour and really closer to less than 15 minutes.  It is tough to understand why it would take until 3pm GMT or 1-6 hours for withdrawals to be processed if all that is necessary is for the USD you have on deposit at one of the exchanges to be converted to BTC and either withdrawn to your wallet.dat and then sent to your customer or sent directly to your customer from the exchange.

We have found that Bitcoin users expect near immediate deposit and withdrawals and we feel that someone should be able to get a withdrawal as fast or faster than they can make a deposit.  Comparing yourself to online casinos that deal in fiat currencies and stating "most casinos take days or weeks to process withdrawals" is very misleading.  We average less than 10 minutes for withdrawals and since we are the only comparable casino that deals in Bitcoins we take a little offense to you stating that most casinos take days or weeks to process withdrawals.

Online gaming may very well be the industry that sustains the growth of Bitcoin in the near future but as an industry we need to try to do better than just outperforming existing fiat currency casinos.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $10,000 Bet that Bitcoins will outperform Gold, Silver by 100X !!! on: August 04, 2011, 08:40:30 PM
I don't think that it is logical to assume that the Dow, Nasdaq, Gold or Silver will double in price in the next two years.

I do think it is almost gauranteed that one of them will be up 10% while another will be down 10%.

If that is a valid assumption Bitcoin will have to increase in value 10x to ~$110 for memorydealer to win his bet.

I would consider buying 100 Bitcoins for $1100 as a hedge and making this bet as pretty much a risk free wager.

Bump to let everyone know that we are still giving away Bitcents.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $10,000 Bet that Bitcoins will outperform Gold, Silver by 100X !!! on: August 04, 2011, 10:49:44 AM
The only cavaat is that I am not sure I can agree to the charity aspect of the payout.
What? I understood it to mean that if you *lose* you get to decide which charity the money goes to.
If you win. You can keep the 10K yourself.

Memorydealers is putting the money to charity if they win. You don't have to.

No at longbets the charity has to be pre-selected by each party.  If they win the money goes to that charity.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $10,000 Bet that Bitcoins will outperform Gold, Silver by 100X !!! on: August 04, 2011, 10:48:17 AM
All can be construed as meaning the results of the 4 are cumulative.

I would make the bet if the MyBitcoin victims were the designated charity.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $10,000 Bet that Bitcoins will outperform Gold, Silver by 100X !!! on: August 04, 2011, 10:27:53 AM
@BTCSports,
Since I think you know a lot more about how betting works than I do,  I would like your input on how to structure the bet.

I am saying that Bitcoin will outperform ALL of them.

How I imagine it would work is if the current (easy math) price of each is:
Bitcoin is $10.
Silver is $50
Gold is $1500
Dow Jones 10,000 points
Nasdaq 2,000 points
USD is $1

in two years if everything doubles (except the USD will still be worth $1USD) to:

Silver is $100
Gold is $300
Dow Jones 20,000 points
Nasdaq 4,000 points

Bitcoins would need to be more than 100x more  ($1,000 a coin)  for me to win the bet.

Please let me know if anything is not clear,  or you think I am missing something.

That seems clear enough with the exception of changing the word "ALL" to "whichever performs the best relative to the USD" and remove the mention of outperforming the USD on your youtube post since as stated $1 will still be $1 in 2 years.

For $10,000 I would be willing to take the other side of this bet while at the same time hoping you win.  The only cavaat is that I am not sure I can agree to the charity aspect of the payout.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $10,000 Bet that Bitcoins will outperform Gold, Silver by 100X !!! on: August 04, 2011, 10:00:35 AM
I have absolute faith in Bitcoin and the concept behind it but still may be interested in the bet.  I do need you need to be a little more clear.

Quote
I'm willing to bet $10,000 USD or equivalent in Bitcoins, that over the next 2 years, Bitcoins will not only outperform the stock market, Gold, Silver, and the US dollar, but Bitcoins will do it by more than 100 times.

Please define outperform?  To say that Bitcoin will outperform the stock market (which index), Gold (relative to what), Silver (relative to what) and the US Dollar (relative to what) is very vague.  Also you are measuring the performance of Bitcoin relative to what?  Does Bitcoin have to outperform whichever of the above four performs the best over the next two years?

My opinion is that you are setting yourself up for failure saying that Bitcoin will outperform all of the above by 100x as the USD is inversely correlated to Silver and Gold.

Business reputation needs to be earned not bought with a fee paid to any "authority".

As far as the MyBitcoin debacle I would rather have Philly Jack and Bowling Ball Tony do the investigating.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTCSportsbetting.com Week 1 Report - Now Offering No-Juice Micro-Wagering!! on: August 02, 2011, 04:44:18 AM
Feedback is wonderful and we appreciate it.  If you have any suggestions on how we can make that page better we would be willing to consider making changes.

The other consideration for that page is to show that Bitcoins are created free, which is a huge consideration as to the legality of using them to gamble with in the United States.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTCSportsbetting.com Week 1 Report - Now Offering No-Juice Micro-Wagering!! on: August 02, 2011, 04:15:03 AM
Again Bitcoiners are our target market.  That doesn't mean that we aren't interested in including those not in that group.

We also include the following in our Getting Started page for those who aren't already familiar with Bitcoin.

"There are also various websites with detailed information about Bitcoin available on the internet. Two we suggest reading are https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Introduction and http://www.weusecoins.com/getting-started.php."
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTCSportsbetting.com Week 1 Report - Now Offering No-Juice Micro-Wagering!! on: August 02, 2011, 04:06:48 AM
Actually our target market is people who are already involved in Bitcoin so scaring off the non-geeks isn't really a consideration.
15  Economy / Gambling / BTCSportsbetting.com Week 1 Report - Now Offering No-Juice Micro-Wagering!! on: August 02, 2011, 04:04:35 AM
This is just a quick update on the first week of business of BTCSportsbetting.com and the announcement of a new No-Juice Promotion in our Sportsbook.

Our first week ended well from a business standpoint.  We have more invite requests than we can handle but that will end soon.  We expect there to be a 24-hour turnaround on getting Invites out to those requesting them starting this week.

Although we won’t disclose exact numbers I will say that our customers beat us in the Casino and lost in the Sportsbook.

All of the feedback we have received for the Casino has been positive.  The only complaint we received for the Sportsbook was that our limit of 5 dBTC was too high.  Our No-Juice Micro-Wagering promotion will hopefully alleviate this complaint and bring some new players to us that have never tried sports betting.

We have identified the need for automated deposits and withdrawals and made this a priority.  Luckily we dodged a bullet prior to launch by choosing not to offer automated transactions as we were considering using MyBitcoin.com.  Hopefully we will have an in-house solution soon.  Since launch our deposit and withdrawal times have averaged less than 10 minutes, even after-hours.  Our current system seems to be functioning satisfactorily with the one difficulty being that some after-hours deposits go unnoticed as we don’t have anyone actively monitoring for them.  If you do send a deposit please utilize the Deposit Form in the Cashier to alert us of the incoming deposit and it will be promptly credited.

Now on for the good news; our new promotion.

No-Juice Micro Wagering!!!

We will now allow each customer to make two (2) No-Juice Wagers a day for up to 5 dBTC each.

How does this work?

We have our Sportsbook Software set to round to the nearest 1 dBTC and will now enable a minimum wager of only 1 dBTC.  A dBTC is equal to 1/10 of a BTC just to be clear.

Each customer can make two wagers per day for up to 5 dBTC and take advantage of this rounding to make a No-Juice wager.

Examples:

You can bet any game up to -149 to win 1 dBTC and you will risk 1 dBTC to win 1 dBTC.

You can bet any game up to -124 to win 2 dBTC and you will risk 2 dBTC to win 2 dBTC.

You can bet any game up to -116 to win 3 dBTC and you will risk 3 dBTC to win 3 dBTC.

You can bet any game up to -112 to win 4 dBTC and you will risk 4 dBTC to win 4 dBTC.

You can bet any game up to -109 to win 5 dBTC and you will risk 5 dBTC to win 5 dBTC.

What does this mean?

It means that at the best you can get even money on an event that has almost a 60% probability of winning if you bet a game at -149 to win 1 dBTC.  It won’t make you rich but you definitely have an edge.

The small print..

Any bets over the limit of two per day will be cancelled, this includes if one person is using multiple accounts (yes we can tell).  Also No-Juice wagers will not count towards any rollover requirements.

If interested please Request an Invite at http://btcsportsbetting.com/requestinvite.htm

17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We Need Roulette on: August 01, 2011, 04:23:24 AM
In a real casino roulette you can change bets until the dealer states "no more bets" and waves off the table.

You should try our roulette.  Prior to pressing Spin you can clear bets, although it does clear the whole board so you have to replace all bets.

After each spin you have 3 choices:

1. Place all new bets
2. Select "Re-Bet" - all of your bets from the previous round will be automatically made and you can add new bets prior to spinning the wheel again
3. "Re-Bet and Spin" - all of your bets from the previous round will be made and the wheel will be spun again

We also have a Fast Play option where the result is instantly displayed without the wheel graphics.

Our Roulette limits are Min Bet .1 BTC to Max Bet 20 BTC.
