1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unique platform for investors on: June 26, 2018, 11:50:39 PM
How do you hope to unify commerce with cryptocurrency? And I will also like to know if there are similar projects like this?

I'm still POS/POW mining as well.  Synced up fine for me.  There are at least a few of us left Smiley  Now, all we need is a good marketer...  Undecided

CoinPayments has been shut down by FinCEN (The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network).  Thanks, U.S. Government  Undecided

I'm still holding hope.  I think the advances of the coin make it a little more valuable once it gets exposure.  I don't think it's too late.  Love Nullu's hopeful attitude, though!  I should consider putting my GRA address below in case anyone does feel like dumping - maybe split between Nullu and myself.  But he got the request in first  Grin

Personally, I've not had a problem syncing or anything.  Unfortunate for those who have.  And, yea, wtf, coinedup??

I am but a small miner, but I just thought I'd throw in my two cents as to how I even came to discover Grain.

I wish I remembered what it was I was searching for, but I found the YouTube video seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8SSt-C8RmE

The features of the coin attracted me.  I'm no video maker, but perhaps for those of you who are, a little video marketing goes a long way!

http://www.allcrypt.com/beta/voting.php

I remind once again - vote for Grain. More exchanges needed.
If someone gets a mistake trying to vote - this happens, just visit the site some time after and try once more.

Just a little reminder... Wink

I don't get how Unioncoin, an unknown coin that has no following is near the top of the list?

i donīt get the low number for grain...  Cool

Shocked Shocked less than 5k blocks left in the 200000 GRA harvest contest @ www.grainers.net

Switch your miners, get the lowest hashed block before we pass block 227227 and win an extra 80000 GRA or one of the other prizes!

I like the leaderboard just the way it is ;-)

Very good, and thank you so much for the link.  Well done Smiley
8  Economy / Gambling / Re: Any Idea who is behind the sealswithclubs DDOS attack? on: March 26, 2013, 04:29:11 AM
So, are you thinking that the DDoS of DT and the attacks against various pools (illpoet and I use different ones) are mere coincidences?

I don't.  And that's why I put up my other two theories.

I saw what was said about how the gov't would just shut it down.  Sure - but with what cause?  A "black op", if you will, would be smarter in this case.  Sure, you could get the public to "boo" a site that infringes on copyrights (like megaupload), but can you get everyone against a decentralized currency that could potentially make the Federal Reserve obsolete?  I don't think so.

Speaking of the Federal Reserve becoming obsolete, that's where the banks come in to my thoughts.  For, without the FR, what is Citi gonna do?

Also, no one has claimed responsibility.

And, I sincerely apologize for my misquote on ransom amount and from where.  My bad.  Memory's failing in the old age, I reckon.

None of my ideas are concrete, nor do I have any evidence to support any of my theories, but I figured I would take a moment and place a guess or two.

First, there was the incident a while ago from someone demanding ransom of (I believe) 50 btc to stop the attack.  The letter was signed with regards from "Mother Russia."  Regardless of where it really came from, a quick switch to CloudFare was the response, and it seemed to work fine - as the attack seemed to be coming from (again, in my opinion) a solo amateur or group thereof.

Today, in addition to SWC, I have noticed some unusual difficulty on a couple other BTC sites.  One of them is a pool I use where one can mine all sorts of alternate currencies.

Though it may be a coincidence, I tend to think it isn't.  If the attack isn't 100% SWC, and is 100% btc, and is this strong, I believe that it would have to be started by a group that feels threatened by this new (and now strong) currency.  Who might that be?

It was joked in the poker room that Anonymous may be behind it.  This is far from the truth - as Anonymous would applaud what it is BTC followers are trying to do.

More likely, I think it is one of two broadly defined groups behind it.  1) Major Financial Institution(s) or 2) Government (or group of governments i.e. UN or EU).  Since they operate hand in hand, the two groups, if one is behind it, the others are aware.

Of course, I may be WAAAYYY off, but it's my idea.

Is there a prize if I'm right?  Send prizes to....  j/k :-)   I hope everything gets back to normal soon.

13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Mining REALLY worth it? on: July 11, 2011, 06:58:58 PM

Mining, like everything else, can be profitable when management is involved. Got friends who will do what you say? There you go! Instant profit.

It's great!  I like it.

A fun way to pass the time with few bitcents.... and maybe win some too!

I will spread the word around, see if anyone else would like to try it.

Good luck with you endeavors.  I am jealous that you were able to come up with something... and make an operational website!  I'm still trying to figure out how to help make bitcoins work, myself... a website or something...
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: poclbm - Solo mining on: July 11, 2011, 07:19:07 AM
I have one with a NVIDIA GeForce 7150M/nforce 630M, and another with ATI Mobility Radeon X1300.

None of them is supported I think. You can continue to mine with CPU but, money wise, it's not really worth it.

If you really want bitcoins you can just buy them though...

I am working on buying... waiting for my dwolla exchange Smiley

Otherwise, racking my brain to figure out a way to earn em.  I am looking forward to the "new economy" and want to chip in what I can to get this thing off the ground.

Perhaps it is time for a new computer...  lol

I think this is a great idea to get people to earn some easy webcoins!

The site looks pretty good... will check it out, and try it out.

My luck, though, not going to win. lol.  But will let you know if I do...

That is right then. CPU mining is sort of pointless now... What are your GPU models?

I have one with a NVIDIA GeForce 7150M/nforce 630M, and another with ATI Mobility Radeon X1300.

I started out joining a pool about a week ago myself.  I have netted about a whole BitPenny so far... so, at the rate I am going, will have a whole BTC in about a year...
That doesn't seem right. You should be making a bitcoin every three days or so. How quickly were you generating shares? Were your shares being rejected?

I am using CPU because my GPU doesn't seem to support any of my attempts (on either of two computers).  I am generating at a pretty steady 3.0Mh/s with a 7 day average of about .0013 or so.

Perhaps I just don't have something set up right just yet... before going and asking a bunch of questions, trying to suck all the info I can find out of these forums.

Oh, yea, I have that sucker running 24/7 too.

But, yea, really good idea.  I think this could be a pretty big thing!

So the previously mentioned 3 months is just a guess?  It is random? Like it could be "tomorrow" or "next December"?  I am sorry if it is an idiot question... I am trying to figure all this out myself...
