4  Other / Off-topic / Re: Any one play with DIY drones ?? on: August 31, 2014, 04:30:33 PM
As per the subject..
Anyone play with DIY drones ??

I'm kind of interested.. Looking to get a basic / amateur kit.. Would be cool if it had a GPS module and camera... and would like it to be already built, I just take it out of the box and put it together I guess.

I saw a few years back this one kit that had cool software and you could basically tell it where to fly (on the map) and at what altitude and then it would go off and fly that route.

I've had a look on the internet... so many choices... would like to hear if any of you folks are into this and what you have... and any recommendations ??

Thanks =)
A group of my close friends have recently made a flying RC diy plane for their university project,It was able to fly simply with a controller.Drones are coming to takeover the sky very soon I guess

What's your plan in case of an alien invasion???

I would probably start by getting my family and friends safe in an underground base. Then start gathering supplies and weapons to start a rebellion. Then get people to fight against the aliens or die trying.
I would handover myself and surrender to them, mankind and the earthly things  are getting why not try something new.
6  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Would you buy a hardware wallet? on: August 31, 2014, 04:25:45 PM
Hi all,

I am doing some research for a Bitcoin company that is interested with developing a hardware wallet to see if it has a viable market. Trezor has some traction, but perhaps only in the existing Bitcoin community. With things like Multi-sig popping up everywhere, do you think this negates some of the pressing need for Hardware wallets? Interested to hear your thoughts.
Of course alongwith me many people are gonna buy it security concern has been increasing day by day.People are more and more worried about storing their coins somewhere safely

9  Economy / Speculation / Re: Incredibly high volume on BTC-e - Bot gone crazy? on: August 31, 2014, 04:16:02 PM
There's an incredible surge in volume on BTC-e at the moment: http://bitcoinity.org/markets/btce/USD! It seems to be caused by some bot gone awry, as some incoherent buying and selling is happening. Someone may be losing big time on fees currently. What do you think is going on?
Yeah the bot has gone mad and this is why it happened

11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to secure the bitcoin "life economies" ? The method. on: August 31, 2014, 04:06:05 PM
Hello, all members...  Smiley

Regulary, members of this forum ask "how can secure store the bitcoins ?"  Lips sealed
Well, the missing point is not a problem of "stolen" coin (or loosed coin) ... but, always, the choice of the software that it manage the "wallet" file.  Kiss

Bitcoin is a network, right ... but like other specialized tool, it need a main operating (and well maintaining) recognize software : bitcoin-core (or bitcoin-QT, the old name).  Cool

In my opinion, private and public key is "hell" to complicate to re-read after a long time.  Undecided
So, for this thread, i have choose the "wallet" file generate by bitcoin-core software.
Please, use "encrypted" wallet to avoid a thrid party to easly use (and steal) bitcoins directly from you PC.  Wink

You can choose other software but keep in mind that you MUST understand the "need to read" files that you saves.
Save is good ... but many people "think" that they always can retrieve (read) file in the future ... it's NOT TRUE.  Cry
The other point is the ability to split files to avoid a HELL MASS DESTRUCTION of all coin.

In Bitcoin, store all coins in one adress is like running in rain : almost one time, you will be sick !  Roll Eyes

---

1) Install Bitcoin-Core : https://bitcoin.org/bin/

2) Let the software retrieve the blockchain (take 48h max and 25Go at this 2014 calendar date)

3) Buy USB keys

It's important to buy "many" USB keys to store them is secury space ... or in multiples spaces (garden cabin, grandma house, church, at public library ...)

4) Now, the magic sauce to avoid "corrupted" files on USB Keys :

4-1) When you add a wallet file, create a folder ... each folders store the oldest wallets.
So, when you create the 4st folder in this list, it have the all previous wallet file store in the 1-2 and 3st oldest folders.

This is the view of the inside of 1 USB key ... the others USB key is exactly the same structure.

4-2) When you store file, it's important to do "archive protect structure" ... duplicate the same file is the key.
I use 7-Zip universal format to do this.

4-3) The final "duplicate method" is to store regulary a copy of a group of file ... this picture is simple to understand.

5) Optional securised system : in my opinion, if you have bitcoin ... you can buy a dedicated PC to install (and ONLY THIS) the bitcoin-core software.

Do this.

You don't want that your children play with malware installed game ... on a "money safe deposit PC machine".

Trust me ... all problem are always from a "family PC" because all human are different and don't care about security.
It's like when you work on a factory ... you don't car about read PPS at your desk because "you think" that the infrastructure of your business office is safe.

(Ah AH AH !)

6) In futur, when you have a corrupted USB key ... it's time to change all the 5 USB key buy in one shot.
It's impossible to have 5 USB key build in the same factory that it's fail in the same day.
All members that it have loosed coin ... it's because they have always 1 place of backup (mydocument folder).
It's stupid.
Don't be stupid with "your" money.
Be smart.
Buy many USB key to secure.
Place them in different space.

---

Please, post in this thread your method with a description to help beginners bitcoin members.  Smiley
I would rather store my wallet into a external hard disk or onto several Usb sticks to avoid data corruption,That's all

How many of them are making a real deal. Crypto currencies are growing like a bush of  weed,is it that easy to come up with a new Crypto?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your biggest profit on: August 30, 2014, 08:22:11 PM
Let's write here your biggest profit of altcoins. What amount of money you started with and what amount you have now? A little story everyone. Personally I started with 100usd, but still no profit after 3months. Now I'm stuck with Cloak.
Mining startup altcoins that are verified and is running on trading platforms like btc-e at low difficulty could make you a decent profit.I once made around $600 profit as I bought litecoins worth $1800 and while the price was $2 per coin and sold them onto btc-e having such profit while it peaked.
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: Should I update to windows 8/9? on: August 30, 2014, 08:17:40 PM
I have an alienware m15x and m17x.

I sent my m15x in for repairs since I broke the charger pin inside the charger port.
This happened LAST YEAR FEBRUARY(2013) so we sent it back to the store I got it from, I only got it back this year and the store that I bought it from just gave me a new charger(all under warranty) and they still haven't fixed the port. It still charges anyway so that's fine.
But back to the topic;

I got it back now and I am not sure whether to Upgrade them to windows 8. Is it worth it?

Currently running on Windows 7.
Yes windows 8 is more relevant than windows 7,so far for me.I find is much useful in any aspects than windows 8.I am on a touch device and I love windows 8 a lot ,Heard windows 9 is gonna launch it's preview soon,

Iam not sure but I heard he was the creator of this forum also , so ...  Roll Eyes
That is what they tell us and seeing we could either agree or disagree,But that wouldn't really matter to people who him or which national he was rather than for sole discussion purpose,so why bother actually?
16  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why is there so many conspiracy junkies here? on: August 30, 2014, 08:12:53 PM
Like nothing is what it seems at all..

People claim 9/11 was the US itself..
Ukraine is apparently killing refugees of their own..
The US is funding the ISIS secretly.
And much much more..

Why are people so stupid and refusing to see things as they are?
Not EVERYTHING is a conspiracy..

And its getting annoying to see all the dump posts by people who does not check their facts or use sites that cant proove their facts..

Well, post what you want here.. I am sure ill get a lot of comments saying that I am the dumb one who is falling for all the propaganda..

Just gonna say.. I know everything is not as it seems to be.. But sometimes its just too far.

Have fun flaming..

17  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fed.Gov. Spending $1 Million Creating Database To Track “Hate Speech” On Twitter on: August 30, 2014, 08:09:40 PM

The federal government is spending nearly $1 million to create an online database that will track “misinformation” and hate speech on Twitter.

The National Science Foundation is financing the creation of a web service that will monitor “suspicious memes” and what it considers “false and misleading ideas,” with a major focus on political activity online.

The “Truthy” database, created by researchers at Indiana University, is designed to “detect political smears, astroturfing, misinformation, and other social pollution.”

The university has received $919,917 so far for the project.

“The project stands to benefit both the research community and the public significantly,” the grant states. “Our data will be made available via [application programming interfaces] APIs and include information on meme propagation networks, statistical data, and relevant user and content features.”

Who defines what hate speech is? They should spend more time monitoring 4chan for the fun of it

Social medias has got so much reactive these days, any act of violence could just rise up reading some couple of words in a social media.
18  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Americans Getting Poorer on: August 30, 2014, 08:07:49 PM
The Typical Household, Now Worth a Third Less

Quote
Economic inequality in the United States has been receiving a lot of attention. But it’s not merely an issue of the rich getting richer. The typical American household has been getting poorer, too.

The inflation-adjusted net worth for the typical household was $87,992 in 2003. Ten years later, it was only $56,335, or a 36 percent decline, according to a study financed by the Russell Sage Foundation. Those are the figures for a household at the median point in the wealth distribution — the level at which there are an equal number of households whose worth is higher and lower. But during the same period, the net worth of wealthy households increased substantially.

The Russell Sage study also examined net worth at the 95th percentile. (For households at that level, 94 percent of the population had less wealth and 4 percent had more.) It found that for this well-do-do slice of the population, household net worth increased 14 percent over the same 10 years. Other research, by economists like Edward Wolff at New York University, has shown even greater gains in wealth for the richest 1 percent of households.

Typical class warfare lingo but yeah, things are trending down here in the home of the brave. Anecdotally, I know plenty of people living paycheck to paycheck while I stack coins for the future.
If the american people think they are getting poorer you must see the African countries for the reality check on how actually poverty looks like
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What´s the future of money? on: August 30, 2014, 08:04:13 PM
Yes I think that bitcoin will replace FIAT all over the world, but it's code should be improved again and again.
But I don't think It will replace FIAT,Never.Only bitcoin adopters in their world they would see BTC replace the FIAT not knowing that the world is not just what they see and believe to be.It's vast and it's not even possible for BTC to replace 10% of worlds FIAT
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just had a great idea - print bitcoin denominations on: August 30, 2014, 08:01:54 PM
So how will the business know they haven't been tampered or spent or private key written down?
Hmm. Good point.

Possible solution is to print some type of verification hash on it that includes the address and timestamp?
There are paper wallets currently people can print and use seals but I wouldn't accept them like fiat, you would need a way that they were printed and don't let the printer see the private key, which would be impossible. I just don't see a solution but it would be nice.
I mean there's gotta be some way to do this, nothing is impossible here.

Bitcoin needs to have an easier time in the real world or else it will remain confined to a small portion of the population.
I agree, solutions are of course possible. Not using as fiats either you use it on paper or virtually bitcoin will still remain a bitcoin isn't it.Just to make more populous and easy to use this method would surely solves the problem
