1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTCjam - Any Thoughts or Experiances on: August 04, 2014, 05:52:02 PM
I find that BTCJam is lacking friendly navigation for investigating users. Got annoyed with it and setup a website that collects, displays and calculates the data.

http://btcjam.zaibot.net/

Hope it can help people here with their investment choices.

Isn't what they are doing illegal?

If so, they should leave a lot of traces behind: paypal, bitpay, hosting, credit card and bank transfers.
What could you do against them?

... Weird. I asked their support, they told me that no one paid with BTC. When did you guys order?

The transaction:

26th of April 0.828 BTC with Order #19582.

Haven't got any message back from support.

... Bitpay don't have any action to protect customers. I don't know why they still exist if they don't protect us, because we can transfer BTC without them.

They still exist and are easy for the companies because they convert BTC to dollars immediately so the company gets the value they expect.

Are you sure scatlet

I bought contract by bitcoin method. I asked to refund 5 days ago, and remind them continuously but they have not refunded yet.

I will report you guy if they refund or not.
I have sent them a message too, like you I bought the contract using bitcoins. I assume the bitpay converted it to dollars since the money goes on a big pile and Methud now needs to convert it back.

They just put a banner up with the text:
Quote
We are no longer accepting new orders, and refunding current pending orders. If your order hasn't been refunded, please create a paypal dispute and we will refund your account within an hour of your dispute.

They have a bank account number (Methud Holdings, nr 01999281124, Bank of America). Addresses and a support that's online a lot of the time.
I placed my order on the 26th of April which should have been launched at the 1st of May.

But they do not have a log out button, their servers test positive against heartbleed, no tax numbers, no reputation, domain is registered in December 2013 and there is no proof that anything is happening (except for processing orders).

When my account becomes active I'll post screenshots of it to proof that it's actually legit.

* about December: somewhere I read that in December they had their first round, although I can't remember where. That's strange if the domain had only been registered at that moment they would not have time to get customers or prepare all the software. It would seem like the first step of a new site.

* ps: I google searched the support's image which found David Marks's Linked In page (https://www.linkedin.com/pub/david-marks/64/431/a82), while in their support the name says Sean Millner.

I have an open pre-order with Methud. As so far I have not seen anything yet.
Their dashboard should have launched yesterday but it's not available and so far no confirmation of any activity.

Support is really nice, but until I see proof it's working I don't believe it.

I jumped in too fast without researching first, will keep you guys up-to-date if anything changes! Just don't get it yet.
