Vendor Portal Progress Report

We've been working full steam on the implementation of the vendor portal and we would like to take this opportunity to release a progress report:

  • We've selected some open-source components which we are now leveraging to accelerate development. This is good news because it will cut down on costs, time and increase quality. These components include things like an ORM layer, robust category management, etc. By using these components we can eliminate a significant portion of the work we had envisioned
  • Due to the above progress is quite a bit faster than originally planned and we can rely on proven code which we don't have to maintain

The bottom line is that we're speeding along and that we hope to have an alpha/beta version of the portal available sometime during July.

Any comments from the devs?

I don't have a lot of dcm anymore, and the small amount I still have was free, but if I was one of those people that held this entire time from ipo prices, I'd probably be angry. Not angry over the price, nor even angry over Bob. Just annoyed at the lack of forum presence and activity from the devs.

There was a lot of talk, but so far we haven't seen a whole lot. At the least you should be commenting on ideas people are suggesting here.

I'm not sure what you mean by the lack of forum presence. We're here every day and comment on stuff going on when we see it being necessary. If we were to reply to every post, I'd spend a good part of our day doing just that.

So, to give you an idea what everybody is working on:

Kreative: talking to several vendors, trying to sign them up for the vendor portal, trying to get investors onboard, etc.
Wallenstein: dealing with the development of the vendor portal
Aszu: working on wallet upgrades and fixing the remaining bugs
AHumanBeingX: was working on marketing stuff, currently moving back to the US, so he's AFK
SeriousCoins: trying to get his head around the anon feature of the wallet

I'd also like to state once again that Kreative's job of getting investors on board is being made significantly more difficult by the huge number of shares on bittrex, which makes investors fearful of being dumped upon. That situation has actually improved over the past few days, but it would be very helpful if people who held a large number of coins would pull the majority of those coins to the local wallets.

So we're actually quite busy, but we don't have great new revelations to share with you every day; we don't have a magic hat we can pull this stuff from. That being said my next post will be something new.

By lack of forum presence, I sort of meant this current lull between threads. And it may just be me, but I do think the comments regarding protecting investors from a catastrophic loss should be commented on.

What levels do you consider catastrophic? In my opinion, we are already there.

As for investors, I'd think the dumping that has been going on would scare them more than the number of coins on the exchange. You really need to deal with the lack of buy support.

Yes, the dumping is a problem but it will be dealt with if it continues. An even bigger problem though is the number of coins held in the exchange wallet; we've talked to several whale-type people and this is the biggest issue they have, they want to see a better distribution of coins before committing money to the coin.

New Designs Received

Please see below the new design for the product detail page.

This is not final yet, but it's getting close. We will receive additional designs most probably tomorrow.

Hi Guys,

the new (moderated) DCM ANN thread is here:

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 22, 2014, 05:20:38 PM
All development priority has gone to dcom, xbc has gone quite i suppose. I mean its easier to dev for a coin with 110btc ipo than it is to dev a coin with a stolen ipo.

Sorry Armin, allow me to state this in no uncertain terms: what the *&@#%^*&@ are you talking about? You have no clue.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 22, 2014, 12:46:48 PM
I believe that is what it was....I saw the threat as well.  They should immediately start a moderated thread and get DCM going.  This last issue will surely destroy any attempt to revive the coin.  And I too cannot get them to respond to PMs.  I have been a strong supporter of that coin from day 1 even with all the FUD and loss in value.  I lost quite a bit of money with DCM.  Please don't make that troll BOB right.

You didn't get us to respond to your PM because it's a weekend and at least I have family commitments to take care of.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 22, 2014, 12:45:03 PM
I'd suspect it's due to our friend Bob. His last post veered from trolling into the somewhat gray area of criminal harassment.

That is the reason.

Core Team

Kreativekrypto

The founder of dCom who molded our team together. Kreativekrypto is known for contributing his promotional marketing expertise to numerous coin development teams. He contributes a seasoned marketing and public relations aspect to the group. Using a plethora of contacts in both the merchant and crypto world, Kreative will be part of the driving force behind the further application and adoption of dCom. With 15 years of experience in I.T., marketing, and sales his goals for this currency will set the bar very high. Kreative will be using this to pay for multiple bounties for services to the community; including the multipool immediately implemented, vendors/merchants, marketing tools and info-graphics, and community based events.

I think you should directly ask Kreativekrypto or dCOM  with regards to this issue of the thread being locked., and pls be more accurate when referring to names also. Those 2 names Seriouscoins and Wallenstein are part of the assistant team for DCM.

Whatever the name is, they both in total receive 44 btc. I've sent pm and tweet to KK and no response. Of course i go to the next one that's around.

If they receive nothing and it's volunteer work i wouldn't be here. But they got money from that coin, they can be held accountable.

Just one question: why didn't you just PM me if you're so curious as to what's going on?

Focus on creating a decentralized black market like voot is aiming for? You guys got the budget to realize it much faster than they can I guess. It's also how bitcoin started...

It's not very original,  but it's the type of commerce crypto is actually more useful then ordinary currencies. And it's a huge market: guns, drugs, organs, hostages & prostitutes. That's what all these nasty mofo's wanna buy. Create a nice environment for them Wink

Yeah, and then get taken down and sued into oblivion or actually go to jail. No thank you, I'll pass.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCM] Digital Commerce 1.35 Mil coins 100% POS/Soon Anon/Accounting wallet. on: June 20, 2014, 06:06:04 PM
The questions also is "why would I bother converting my funds to Digital commerce if I have to first purchase BTC and then go to an exchange and buy digital commerce. It is too much hassle and about as efficient as the mundane online banking process.

Digital commerce would do better to have their own version of paypal linked directly to the customers bank account to overcome this.

These are huge barriers to the successful commercial market adaptive process and must be overcome with practical solutions for a market that is unforgiving to inconvenience or non performance.

I do believe though over the medium to long term range that this team will incorporate a commercial entity and have proper legal standing and commercial function.

This is a microsoft in the garage days in the 80's situation now but the evolution of technology and market process has multiplied in speed of adoption due to the digital age and if correct calculated steps are taken in a non rushed manner I believe the possibilities are well beyond what anyone is forecasting now and in fact their next public offering could be on the NYSE if they get it right.

If they dont they will be punished by the marketplace and sold into the dirt.

I'm guessing that you don't know the details about the regulations surrounding fiat conversion in the US. Lets just say that it's on a per-state basis and that our IPO budget is laughable when compared to the sums involved/required.

As for your other comments: no matter what we do, NYSE stock listing doesn't seem to be a realistic goal IMHO but thank you for your vote of confidence :-)

The devs who wrote all those beautiful words in the ANN have now all vanished from stage except for Wallenstein, who still has the balls to face the music.

I assure you that I'm in contact with the other devs pretty much on a daily basis. Noone has disappeared.

The reality here is that the digital coin market is inhabited by non commercial people at this point in time however as the technology is adopted by the commercial entities they will be attracted to this type of coin.An encrypted messaging service built into the wallet for professionals within the legal profession, maybe security professionals and any others who would find this feature useful would be beneficial.

The anon feature is good for privacy for consumers of say sensitive medication, etc or whatever but if the anon feature is better than others a free version and maybe a paid version such as licence for use per year would even make it more attractive with psychological value due to professionals not trusting free open source software etc in business. Also such technology when perfected should be patented where possible and other features protected with trade mark and copyright.

I am speaking only for this commercial type coin.

This technology is new and it is staking a claim in an untapped market before some big player with a large corporate budget jumps in and takes over. You need to build a brand for now and do the spadework right and seriously evolve into a doing business on the blockchain type of company/organisation. Smiley

Therein lies a problem.  Devs hoped that a coin created to have a commercial application would succeed today, when in fact the market is not ready for it.  Will the market/traders eventually be ready for it?  Sure.....but right now that is not the case.  So I wonder if it would just make sense to put the development towards a commercial application on hold, and concentrate on the things that could make this coin flourish now.  Re-build the coin that way, increase the market cap, use the newly acquired funds from a larger market cap and put it towards the commercial development.  Something has to bring investors back.  It's a great coin, with a lot of good ideas, but the market doesn't see it as such.  MAKE IT NOTICE!

Well give us your ideas. If you want to, you can PM me or catch me on IRC.

Wallet Roadmap Released

We've been busy behind the scenes planning our future wallet upgrades with our new DCM collaborators. Please see below what we have planned:

  • Anon Functionality: After much research and discussion with technical experts we have identified and selected an anonymity design which we believe is suitable both for security and everyday use as an optional enhancement to our wallet (ie: it will still be possible to use the currently existing, non-anon, transactions). It is our understanding that our chosen design will provide a level of anonymity which will be more difficult to compromise than other existing anon-implementations. Further details will be released as the implementation of said technology matures.
  • Fiat conversion capability: Future versions of the wallet will add a dynamic fiat conversion system to the wallet for some of the major currencies in use (USD, EUR, etc). Such a system will make it possible for casual users to execute transactions like “I want to pay for a USD 499.99 TV" in DCM without having to resort to a calculator, making the use of our coins more practical in everyday life. The exchange rates used will be dynamically retrieved and updated through the use of APIs provided by cryptocurrency exchanges.
  • Accounting Extensions: We are planning to add accounting extensions to our wallet in an effort to make the wallet design and usage more appropriate for business use. These extensions will include the capability to define an account hierarchy and to assign transactions to an account as well as initially providing export capabilities to popular accounting software such as Quicken for the USA and Datev for Germany

We hope that our investors can see the benefits of such extensions to the usage scenarios we are aiming for: a cryptocurrency which is accepted by businesses and is suitable for everyday usage.

This is great News! It only shows that this coin is for the long haul and not your everyday P&D Altcoins.
It would be helpful  if there will be a Timeline for the said features that will be implemented for XBC, even a weekly report on where are we now on the said plans and what is needed in order to push through a great roadmap into reality Smiley

Well, it's hard to put a definitive timeline on such stuff. The anon feature, for example, is being developed but not done yet. So think of weeks, not months.

As stated before, the only ones dumping below IPO price are those who got DCM for free. Or those who got BTC from the IPO for free and converted these into DCM.
Now think a minute about who these dumpers are... Kiss ?
The question is, how committed are these devs, if at all...

We're committed and as far as I know (and I really have no reason to doubt this) all of us dev still hold the coins we purchased. I'll tell you my story: I bought into the IPO using my own funds, sold a bunch for 3x the buying price. I could have sold the rest on the way down but didn't do so because I didn't want to add to the sell pressure. I have since bought more at below IPO levels. So there you have the answer to your "commitment" question from my side.

We *are* watching the market; even if we don't post about this every day.

DCM withdraw and deposit not working for 4 days now, payout DCM multipool not processed for 4 days now.

Is anybody of the dev team working on this?

I was under the impression that this had been fixed. I will check into it. Thanks for alerting me to this.

Bittrex is enabled again.

How does something like RZR start out on Bittrex today and it's over 100k satoshi?  2 million total coins (currently just over ~769,000), an anon feature utilizing the TOR network.  And we are at 3k satoshi.  Something just is not right with that.  How are we not higher, and why is there no buy support for DCM?

Probably a combination of a mistrust of ipos, very little hype, and Bob.

If the devs had more to show right now as far as a marketplace or planned features, it could get around some of those issues, but it'll take time.

I also wonder if it's an inherent problem with some of these ipos, especially exchange run ipos. After the success of XBC, a lot of people probably were looking for quick profit. And those that hung on too long eventually dumped when things didn't turn out as well as they had planned. So I guess add in the 'pump and dump' mindset which probably was a large portion of the ipo investors as one reason the coin's price is where it is right now.

Well, I think the idea of using TOR is at least creative. Ultimately it's a smoke screen though because if you think that TOR will protect you from seriously interested prying eyes (ie: government sponsored organizations) you're probably very wrong. So RZR is probably the hot-coin-of-the-week.

For what it's worth, we're also disappointed that there is virtually no market reaction to what we've put out so far. But we'll keep at it and eventually it will pick up. We are going down what I would call a "rational path"; if we do what we promised it really should result in major value gains. If it doesn't then you can probably forget being rational about the altcoin market and go back to chasing the hot coin of the week.
