1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is pirate chain a scam? on: August 09, 2021, 03:06:31 PM
Piratechain is just a token like ERC20s on Ethereum- https://capital.com/pirate-chain-arrr-price-prediction-is-the-coin-a-buy-now I sold my ARRR for 0xMR

This is completely incorrect. If you had done even the slightest bit of research, you'd see that it is an independent blockchain. Sadly, what I think you're attempting to do is FUD.

If people are interested to do proper research, check out the website, github and discord. There is a thriving community.

Edit:

For those interested to know, it is a 100% private send currency using Zcash's zksnark technology. It was created in a fair launch fashion by the Komodo developers. I invite you to do a bit more reading if you're interested in private cryptocurrencies, it is definitely up there.

Best answer in this thread.  Thanks for offering concrete info and links to further information.

Coinmarketcap is not a filter to defend against scams.  It is a simple listing/information service.  They list thousands of coins/tokens, some of which are outright scams and many of which will fail over time.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SENTINEL - SENT - ERC20 Based DVPN and Anon Mixer - Integrating with Tendermint on: July 14, 2021, 04:33:52 PM
Can someone clarify the transition from Ethereum to Cosmos for me?  I didn't find the info in the latest white paper to be entirely clear.

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sentinel-official/docs/master/whitepaper/whitepaper.pdf

Cosmos is all about creating interoperability between different block-chains based on different technologies.  Is Sentinel actually being:
  • recoded from ERC20 to Cosmos based-code?
  • being adapted to interact with the Cosmos hub and will remain ERC20?
  • something else?

Thanks.

LOL, who would vote no?  RC4 should have the send limits removed for DarkSend and the masternode payments enforced!  It should be a huge improvement, including to the anonymity of DarkSend.

Frankly coins101, I think you're short changing Darkcoin again, the price should be closer to $60.

But I know nothing, LOL, won't even trade because I have no idea why people sell for so low?  Why it's so low right now is a puzzle to me.  But certainly $20 should be a certainty!

Being optimistic is perfectly fine, but here is a bit of history to help keep things grounded.

Bitsta has reported more progress in the development of the ano feature. Testing being done. Still on track.

Hey shogun47.  I've seen some references to the new anonymous feature with the updated wallet.  What technology is being implemented for this feature?  Is there any documentation/white paper?  Thanks.

Hi everyone, I havn't posted on this forum since before DRK was worth over a dollar a coin. I have been a supporter of an open source trustless and anonymous ecash system since the weakness in Bitcoin was exposed. i started by investing in Fedoracoin, but then after talking people on this message board and doing extensive research and analysis I went followed my intuition and adopted Darkcoin.

For those interested in understanding what is required and important for the implementation of Ecash into everyday life and the importance of this for our everyday life, and the life of our kids and grandchildren, this 4:20 minute long video by Milton Friedman will hopefully be a wonderful experience:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYD17h6hlCs

The name of the video say's bitcoin, we can both logically and intuitively replace bitcoin with darkcoin after understanding what he say, someone should repost this video with the words darkcoin with an explanation of why bitcoin doesn't work

I even think this Milton Friedman video could be beneficial on the dark coin website, after all its not like its copyrighted lol and its definitely cool to have M. Friedman's support even in the afterlife.

Milton Friedman with John Maynard Keynes are two of the most influential economists that helped to shape the economic thoughts and models of our time.

Next post coming up and there is a point to this, i need to take a sip of coffee  Smiley

Hey r-ando.  Welcome back from hibernation. Very nice contribution.  I'm not much for video editing, but I think the following two links might be useful:

Same video minus the Bitcoin parts at the front/back: http://youtu.be/j2mdYX1nF_Y

The full interview that this is pulled from (11:41-15:35).  There are some additional parts that might be useful in a remix, such as some comments by the interviewer at the beginning about the predicted rise of the regulatory state:  http://youtu.be/mlwxdyLnMXM.  I'd recommend a note in any remix pointing to this video so that people can see the resulting new video was not taken out of context.

One of the not so much mentioned things libertycoin can use is being accepted as payment at online merchant sites. This could be directly by them or through a service like coinpayments. things like this and the muticoin tipping ap on Facebook give a real purpose to the coins beside just saving them or trading on exchanges. Any help, ideas, in this area would be greatly appreciated.

I will be trying to get Libertycoin added to coinpayments service as well and the multicoin tipping ap.

Ding, ding, ding!  Thank you!  Having a good technical solution is very important and I'm hoping the new leadership group can get us there, but it is also very important to move the coin into daily use and not just a toy for day trading.  Libertycoin needs both solid technical quality and promotion towards public usage to survive long term.

Ugh, gosh I just got back.  Was gone all day!  So, um, what happened?

The hard fork update went in today and ran into a hickup.  They had to put in a quick update and disable masternode payments again.  The DRK prices that were rising over the last 24 hours or so dropped.  You should update your wallet to version x.2.  Notes here: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/reverting-rc3-masternode-payments-fork.1458/

LOL did anyone see that epic cryptsy dump?
Yeah. That surprised me too.

I thought she was kinda gorgeous.

Doesn't matter.  The market has spoken!   Wink

Looks like someone dumped 3000+ in a single sale.

Days like this make me appreciate all the more what Satoshi was able to accomplish.  His software wasn't perfect and was tweaked numerous times before people started to pay attention, but he was able to implement some important new technologies successfully.  He did have the big advantage that he had a very small audience looking over his shoulder as he got it working right and they were generally supportive.

Please don't even compare edufield to Satoshi, the DRK developer can't even make a working change to his coin without breaking the whole darkcoin network and promising to fix it the next month... and then the next month...

You read too much into my comment.  I never claimed edufield was Satoshi.  Just commenting that implementing new technologies can be difficult and it is impressive that Satoshi got so much right.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [GIVEAWAY/POLL] What is your perception of Libertycoin? on: June 20, 2014, 03:56:59 PM
It is a real coin, but it is in a lot of trouble right now.  The original developer has not been able to deliver key promised functionality and has been very poor at communicating.  The community has lost confidence that he will be able to deliver and a new group is trying to take control and lead this coin forward in a better direction.  It remains to be seen if they succeed, but I believe they are sincere.  Right now, Libertycoin is a very speculative investment, so I'd be hesitant to invest a lot of new money in it.  If you want to invest a small amount on the chance that things improve, go right ahead.  You can get a lot of coins cheap right now.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [GIVEAWAY/POLL] What is your perception of Libertycoin? on: June 20, 2014, 02:51:37 PM
Dev just didn't like the answers he got?

It would appear so.  Most of the posts offering feedback asked for the anonymity feature to be implemented.  He just announced that it will not be implemented.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=600322.msg7413019#msg7413019

need hype dude. create hype. current price is a joke. coin has potential.
It doesn't need hype.  It needs delivery of promised features, promotion, integration into payment systems, etc, etc.  In other words, real progress.

That was the problem in the first place wasn't it? One man just saying "hey let's do this, give me your money".
Let's at least talk about it first.

I sympathize with your frustration and it is obvious that many others do as well.  The faster-moving conversation is going on at IRC rather than here.  Feel free to join in at https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net?channel=#libertycoin and see what other people are trying to do and see what you can do to help get XLB moving forward.  It seems like most of the chat is going on in the afternoon/evening, but you can check in any time.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [GIVEAWAY/POLL] What is your perception of Libertycoin? on: June 09, 2014, 12:53:04 PM
1- What is your perception of Libertycoin?
* I bought into Libertycoin during that short window while IconicExpert was actively promoting it.  The biggest attraction was the promised anonymity feature.  When things blew up with IE, I was rather confused who the players were.  The promoted "big announcement" turned out to be an attack on XLB.  Was IE a developer as claimed?  Who were the developers and why wasn't I hearing from them at the time?
* Because of the info above, I was confused for several days who the primary players were for XLB and who I should pay the most attention to.  There was a lot of negativity and FUD going on in the main Libertycoin discussion thread, which left me dispirited and I'm sure turned off people that were reading about Libertycoin for the first time.
* At this point, I hope Libertycoin does well and have no intention of selling as I'm holding in the hopes that it actually delivers on it's promise.  However, I'm not very enthusiastic and want to see some evidence of progress.

2- What do you think we can do to improve?
* You have the first couple of posts in the main Libertycoin discussion thread and therefore control it.  When you look at them, the first user name mentioned in IconicExpert in post #2 and an explanation of the blow-up around him.  Please insert a short section listing the primary players and their roles in post #1 so that people know who speaks "with authority" for Libertycoin.  This should include the developers and the new marketing people.
* Libertycoin needs better communications with the community.  I understand you tried to do that with IE, but it went badly.  Hopefully, the new people will work out much better.  Please try to keep us in the loop on technical and promotional progress.  I understand that there are limits, but it still is helpful to be aware of what the current development directions are and a rough gauge of progress.  Hard dates aren't necessary and it is more important that the updates be done well than quickly.
* The Libertycoin name is an excellent point in our favor, but I really want the technology that supports the name to work.  Please get anonymity working!

I'm not interested in taking any of your coins and wish you and this project well.  I hope you are able to deliver the anonymity features which would be the biggest differentiator from the large quantity of altcoins out there.

Hey guys, whats the value of 1 XLB to USD?

Just over $0.02 at the moment.  You can easily check the current value in USD/BTC/EUR/etc of all major crypto-currencies at http://coinmarketcap.com/

plz help me my wallet is showing out of syc.My internet connection is also ok but i am still having this problem.Tell me how to fix it

Did you recently just install the wallet?  If so, this is normal. Out of sync means that you don't have all of the transaction data downloaded yet.  There is a lot of info there, so it takes a while.  You should see a status line at the bottom indicating progress on downloading that data.  Once you are caught up, then you will be "in sync".

I know de Mother Fucker dumper who did it. He bought 3btc by 1700 and dump it for 4600.

This is "Liberty"coin, right?  That means people are free to buy and sell whenever they feel like.  They are free to make a profit or loss.  As long as Libertycoin and associated services looks like it is moving in a positive direction, the general price trend will be upwards.
