1  Bitcoin / Mining support / SP35 stopped working ... on: December 30, 2017, 03:02:43 PM
Not a super nerd, but equally handy with a soldering iron or an IP scanner ...  Wink

Anyway, have an SP-10 and SP-35 (all at latest firmware).  Run them in winter to heat the basement, but not in summer because I don't want to generate heat in the house (just so you know).

OK ... enough background, here's the issue.

The SP-10 is running just fine, but today when I fired up the SP-35, the fans keep running up and down (a 1-2 minute process) ... the Enet switch port lights keep searching for a connection and the SP-35 Enet port at the other end is constant green and yellow (no blinking so that's not normal as you all know).  The microSD light is blinking like mad (never noticed that before ... new??).  Neither an IP scanner nor the "myminer.io" find the SP35 ... and of course, my miner pool "worker" tab shows the SP-10 is running fine, with no SP-35 activity (which I expected).

My theory is that the "keep alive" battery (assuming there is one) died, and the settings are lost.  I don't know how to recover ... assuming I have to SSH in, but I don't know how.  Thinking the firmware is still intact, but the user settings have been lost.

Thoughts and comments appreciated.
Agree with my analysis?
Or do you think the PSU fried?
Beuller?  .... Beuller?

how do you get wifi working on these ... I found links saying the Edimax EW-7711USn and EW-7718Un work .  So I bought the 7711 model and cannot get it to work ... plugged it in ... waited 2 minutes ... rebooted ... waited a few minutes ... shut down ... powered on ... nothing on the Wifi link shows up.

thoughts?

I agree that one isn't sufficient ... but I'm OK with dual PSU's ... my question is ... "is the 16 ASICs on one and 32 on the other" ok?Huh

Re:  my S1 unit

had to connect 2 PSU,s ... 1 to each board (just because they were not powerful enough).  Anyway, I see that one runs with 16 ASICs and the other blade runs with 32 ... is that normal?

Holding the power on sort of worked ...

On my router, I deleted the 192.168.1.205 address so the ARP tables would not get me confused ... then monitored active addresses on the router.

I then held the button while I cycled power and never saw the old 192.168.1.205 or the default 192.168.1.99 appear.  So I cycled power again without the button push and the default 192.168.1.99 did finally come up.

So then changed the WAN to what I wanted and now I'm off to figure out how to get it mining.

thanks

Hi ... need to RESET my Antminer ... here is what happened ... some noob mistakes for sure:

The label says it's 192.168.1.99 ... but I forgot that I have a NAS at that address.  Anyway, connected it all up, ran advancedIPscanner and found that the DHCP (I guess) had set it to 192.168.1.205 (my DHCP range is set to start at 201, so it makes sense).  Or, it came in with DHCP turned on ... doesn't matter ... it was 192.168.1.205.

Anyway, I went in and set the LAN (not WAN ... big mistake I'm sure) to 192.168.1.152 as I had reserved that address for mining.  So I saved it and now cannot connect to 192.168.1.152 ... and when I go to 192.168.1.205, the LuCI headers come up, but then nothing ... just times out (it says it's trying to connect to http://192.168.1.205/cgi-bin/luci).  So I'm thinking that the WAN is 192.168.1.205, but the LAN (which I can only get via the Antminer WAN I guess) is 192.168.1.152 ... and I cannot get to that.

(FYI ... not a super sharp network guy, so please don't roll your eyes too much !!).

OK ... so I figured I'd reset the Antminer (black S2 button on the control board ... only button on the board) but it doesn't do anything.  You press it and the red and green LED's just continue on.

Any ideas?

7  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Replacement ASICMiner 4-pin power green screw-down terminals on: June 08, 2014, 03:51:45 PM
Just thought I'd mention it for anyone looking in the future, you can MAKE the 4-pin power connectors work off of standard PC power supplies.  Note that you'll still need to change the wiring to get 12V and Ground to the correct pins, but this does work.
