do NOT blanket, with wide reaching statements like "all your ideas in this area is total crap"
my mistake. it just never happens this way. alright. Windows reinstall is not the best idea here, nor cloning. Good advice. I'm sorry I said that all your ideas in this area are total crap, actually it's just everything you said about cloning and driver issues... and also something about "client security trough fresh windows install" and... uhh...sorry again... @svdinu Reinstall older build. Quick search finds this (Anniversary is good enough for almost all use cases): http://windowsiso.net/windows-10-iso/windows-10-anniversary-update-1607-download-build-14393-0/windows-10-anniversary-update-1607-iso-download-standard/ You can look for SHA1 hash values of the original MS ISOs and check if it's proper Edition: Windows 10, product language = English
Windows 10 English 64-bit download
File name = Win10_1607_English_x64
SHA1 hash value: 99fd8082a609997ae97a514dca22becf20420891 Great! Thanks. As far as I remember, Windows will update itself on first run without asking. Let's see how it goes, it was not me in need, but I'm waiting for users to report. All the best!

driver related issues likely to be encountered when trying to boot a different chipset off the wrong clone os etc.
Well, I'm enjoying the tough debate my comment lead to. Question still remains: How can one "roll back" to Win 10 1709 on a fresh install, providing that 1803 release is not good for mining? Yeah, I can't say I'm enjoying the banality of it, in that there is no debate as such, not a single statement was rebutted on a technical level, and emotional, personal attacks are hardly going to help you, or anyone in fact. Anyway, moving on, I don't think you can roll back here, as you have nothing to roll back on, you've installed a newer win build. OK, so some time has passed, you've been hard at it, how about a recap? What is the current situation? You're on 1803, you have a single GPU in the rig, drivers installed, debug on, can you post the log just before and after the hang? Don't stress it man, you'll get it running. Well, that was not me asking. As far as I go, I have one rig/work PC with only 2 cards that got itself upgraded to 1803 and it's working just fine with AMD 18.3.4. The rest of my rigs I rolled them to Win 1709 and AMD 17.11.4 as they used to be. All my rigs run 2 epochs without any crash (5-10 days). Good enough to allow some maintenance once in a while.

RE clones: Using Acronis TrueImage, I've got the same UEFI Win10 image running on ASROCK H110, MSI Z270, ASROCK B150, ASROCK H81. With various AMD and NVIDIA GPUs and ZERO issues. I reiterate myself: the only known problem with cloning is absence of official Microsoft support. (and I know this because see earlier) Also how comes dagpatcher is "outdated" or whatever is your claim RE problem: I'm just cautioning these guys from listening to incompetent "yet very helpful"(?) people They are just doing something terribly wrong (like not having their drivers properly installed) as it's extremely simple: Do this: disable windows & drivers updates, do proper DDU, add multiple GPUs (better with stock bioses), install driver (see my post above), run claymore. for polarises you can set extremely safe 1140MHz core and 1750 mem at 900mv You can also try other algoes / miners. “It's not what you don't know that kills you, it's what you know for sure that ain't true.” ― Mark Twain Yes, better to keep these, technical discussions, rather than personalising them. It also helps you make your point! OK, but like I said, as indeed did the original poster, they are a small outfit, they have a single rig, and Acronis cost what? Another fifty bucks, to do what, make a single clone, from a disc they don't have? Again, for the last time, cloning in the context raised is not a good solution, in fact it's not even possible. End of discussion if you please. A bit of attention to detail would not go amiss, nowhere did I say the dagpatcher was outdated, YOU said that! What I wrote was it was redundant, that's it. That's exactly my point. Whomever raised question of clones was not me, but your comment apparently caught my attention NOT because it was out of place, but because it was wrong. Also again why is pixelpatcher redundant? I'm not aware of AMD starting to skip the signature check in their drivers (it was re-enabled with 16.12.1) EDIT: @marius85 try 18.2 - 18.3 versions Well, I'm enjoying the tough debate my comment lead to. Question still remains: How can one "roll back" to Win 10 1709 on a fresh install, providing that 1803 release is not good for mining?

We are having the same problem that Marius 85 and others seem to be having. How may i fix this? I get a loop with this and it doesn't start mining..

@claymore can you maybe fix miner for gpu temp monitor when i use MS remote desktop, and run miner .. only 1 gpu show temp when i run minier via teamviver, show all gpu temp and fan %, or i run local .. via keyboard and monitor
but, teamviver is not free, and from time to time block conncection and you must wait for another. And MS remote desktop is builed in, free and working great
It is not related to the miner, the reason is in Windows and AMD drivers. @claymore Hi, I have the same problem ... only GPU0 shows temp Here I have win10 pro 1709 with drivers 18.3.4 and your miner v11.7: 00: 30: 39: 219 1e0c ETH: 05/14 / 18-00: 30: 39 - New job from eu1.ethermine.org:5555 00: 30: 39: 219 1e0c target: 0x0000000112e0be82 (diff: 4000MH), epoch 186 (2.45GB) 00: 30: 39: 219 1e0c gpu # 1 dt 0.15 (0%, good) 00: 30: 39: 219 1e0c ETH - Total Speed: 61.963 Mh / s, Total Shares: 122, Rejected: 0, Time: 02:17 00: 30: 39: 235 1e0c ETH: GPU0 30.854 Mh / s, GPU1 31.109 Mh / s 00: 30: 41: 829 d50 GPU 0 temp = 56, old fan speed = 53, new fan speed = 39 00: 30: 43: 438 1e0c ETH: checking pool connection ...
Windows remote desktop works well with other programs and also other miners I run from command ... they show temp of all GPUs. Disable Crossfire

@doktor83
Hi, first of all thanks for your great work.
I have an MSI RX 580 8GB gaming X (H5GQ8H24MJR SK Hynix), its hashrate is only 28.2 MH for ETH and 760 H for XMR (SRB Miner). I modded it with UBERMIX 3.1 straps (1500+). Do you think using PIMP MY STRAPS could I get better results?
Ubermix isn't for Hynix memories, try pimping your straps, put for example 1150/2100 you should get aroun 30mhs on eth. Yes I know. They come from one click timings (jaschaknack) and even if they are not the best, they are quite stable for this card. I'm going to try the "pimp straps" and I'll post the results here. Results after a few hours of "pimp my straps" testing. Note: previous results obtained with "one click timings" are shown in brackets. ETH - Claymore 11.6 1150/2000/900 -> 28.5 MH/s - (n.a.) 1180/2000/900 -> 28.5 MH/s - (28.2 MH/s) 1150/2100/900 -> 30.1 MH/s, thousands errors/second with artifacts - (n.a. millions errors/second without artifacts) XMR - SRB MINER 1.4.6 1150/2000/900 -> ~819 H/s - (n.a.) 1180/2000/900 -> 820 H/s - (760 H/s) 1150/2100/900 -> 843 H/s, ~ 125 errors/hour - (n.a.) So for ETH I have a very small improvement from 28.2 to 28.5. Unfortunately I can not use the memory at 2100: too many errors and artifacts even lowering it to 2080, 2050. Instead for XMR although with the memory at 2100 I have some error (I think negligible values) there is some improvement: from 760 H to 843 H. In the next few days I will test other algos and miners then I will decide whether to stay with "pimp my straps" or switching back to "one click timings". Hi! For your MSI RX 580 8GB gaming X try 1190, 1200, 1215 or 1230MHz for core clock. For Hynix mem try this strap: 777000000000000022339D00CE5153379055111230CB440900208400740114206A8900A00200312 0150F292F94273116 for 1500+MHz. Alternatevely, you cand send me your bios and I can modify it for you. All the best, Sorin

Why are you using such high voltages? With HWINFO I'm looking how much a card draws and decrease the voltages until there's no variation. Most of them fall below 850mV. And I don't alter powlim.
what do you use to undervolt? in windows or linux amazingly -cvddc / -mvddc does not work for me in windows even in linux i.e. simplemining undervolt does not work i can only use trixx for my sapphire rx 470 to use 825mV I use Claymore on my rigs. I tried once, for a customer, to use OverdriveNTool ( https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/overdriventool-tool-for-amd-gpus.416116/) and it worked instead of Claymore.

i try to use -cvddc option in start.bat file to allocate 825mV to my rx470 the core voltage in bios is dynamic but it does not work and with the option in start.bat file still GPU-Z show 1000mV on the wall same i have to use a program such as sapphire trixx to undervolt each card for -175mV
no reason found yet!!! Show your .bat file please. Maybe it will tell someone the reason. setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0 setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1 setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eth-eu1.nanopool.org:9999 -ewal walletXXX.workerXXX/email@email.com -epsw x -mode 1 -ftime 10 -cvddc 825 -mvddc 900 Put -cclock and -mclock as well, so the miner knows to which frequencies to allocate the chosen voltages. 1150/1750 to start with.

Hi I have a strange problem crop up..My rig of 4 x RX580 8gb nitro was consuming a total of 599 watts at the wall.
We had a power cut and when I restarted the rig after the power came on the consumption has jumped to 1600 watts from 599 watts In Afterburner the consumption per GPU is still around the 85w per GPU ...which was the same before the power cut..and giving 599 watts at wall
What could have caused this sudden jump ? especially when the gpu watts is same (before and after power cut) in afterburner.
Thanks for your help
your psu capacitors needs eletricity to "restart" its called peak based on your suggestion it should peak when it restarts...But after that the consumption remains at 1600 watts whereas it was 599 watts before are you sure your power meter is reporting correctly? it is hard to believe 3x more power.

Some guys are just mean here.. I know i'm a noob on this forums but cmon we gotta help each other out.. I asked if I should mod my bios and not one person answered me. Anyways I went ahead and did it glad I did and don't know why it took me a year lol.. most cards get me around 29-30 even one card does 31mhs... Now one set of cards gets to 31mhs but with tons of errors.. so i lowered clocks. overnight each card got around 30 errors is this bad? If I clock those cards lower I get MHS lowered then before modded.. Should I try another bios on those? Also if somebody could point me to a good modded vbios repository would be awesome thanks.
PM me if you need advice.

Got also had a working rig with 12 radeon r9 390 stabile running, but power use is high, i need 3 PSU to run it At this time 3 cards are down (power supply cable burns out), rest still works
I also had a second rig with 10GPUs with the 4pin connector riser cards an an asus p10ws stabile for weeks
Any modded bios to reduce power consumption?

Hi Mattthev,
I have a few questions regarding your bioses from the shop:
1. The bios size for Sapphire Pulse ITX RX 570 4GB Elpida/Hynix is 256kb or 512kb? I have the 256kb version and I cannot get it over 25.8MH/s. 2. Is the bios "Asus Strix RX 580 8GB Samsung" suitable for the T8G model? My bitch is doing only 29.1MH/s with Samsung. 3. Will PBE price cover future upgrades or bios additions? I miss bios for Sapphire RX 580 Nitro+ 8GB Limited Edition - Hynix, but not so much as I'm squeezing 30.1MH/s out of it.
Thanks. Sorin

RX 580 + win10 + blockhain driver 23 august + AB 18 + Claymore v10.0 if I add values in and use -cclock -mclock -cvddc -mvddc which works and stable? or still voltage resetted ? is overclocking and/or voltage working with 580's? if works, is still needed afterburner? "Supports latest AMD 4xx cards only in Windows." ... and 580's? Thank you for reply. -cclock 1158 - 1190 -mclock 2000 - 2250 -cvddc 850 - 900 mV -mvddc 850 - 900 mV Whatever values make your cards stable. No AB required. Temperature control works too.

I am reading this thread every day Some people said about different ways to change voltage on amd rx5xx series with new drivers, but I didn't see a lot of positive reviews. So can someone please tell me the best solution to downvolt rx5xx series with new drivers (fix dag files)? Thanks beforehande
This worked for me (4 x RX 580 Sapphire Nitro + LE): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.msg21022569#msg21022569 with AMD Blockchain Drivers and OverdriveNTool. Voltages 857 mV, P7 = 1172 MHz, P1 = 2250 MHz, 31.3 Mh/s

Hi guys,
i need some help.
i have Sapphire nitro RX 580 8GB an a nice Bios mod wich runs on windows 10 brilliant. Unfortunately on Simple mining not so much because i can not adjust the voltage as well as in Windows.
i need to set one of those 2 Settings:
======================= setting 1 =====================
*1120 - Core Clock *2250 - Memory Clock *-96 Vol - Voltage at MSIafterburner *60% - FAN Speed
29.45-30.1 MH/s - Mining ETH 75-76 - Watts per card / GPU-Z and Msiafterburner ========================setting 2==================== *1130 - Core Clock *2080 - Memory Clock *-96 Vol - Voltage at MSIafterburner *70% - FAN Speed
30.1-30.04 MH/s - Mining ETH 75-77 - Watts per card / GPU-Z and Msiafterburner
SETTING THE CLOCKS for memory and core is clear ....... but how to set -96Vol ?
is it possible with -cvddc and -mvddc ??
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE !
REGARDS DANIEL
-cvddc 960 equals to 0.96V. Is that the number you get on MSI Afterburner? This is for GPU core . If you want to adjust the memory voltage you have to use the -mvddc comand. i don't know what ment the author of the bios... i didn't try it on windows. I went direct to Simple mining. it is not possible to have -96vol in msi afterburner. you can there set from 1-1000. in sapphire trixx you can set + or - 96 vol. https://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/11973/rx-580-hashrate/p6i can't alsowrite this guy because this tread is closed i suppose. Also no private messaging @svdinu power stage 3 and power stage 4 doesnt work with this bios and those clocks from Author... even if i set the clocks that simple mining propose, if doesn't work. I think that it is because in this bios are also Voltage levels modified and simple mining pay attention only on the bios memory and core clocks - not voltage settings. Here's my settings for Sapphire RX 580 LE: 1158/2250, Powerstage 3, Temp 75C, Fan 75%. With 4 cards I'm doing 122.37 MH/s ETH and 1957.97 MH/s SC. I use the bios from http://1stminingrig.com/best-bios-rom-sapphire-nitro-rx-580-8gb-limited-edition-hynix-memory-31-5-mhs/ My cards do not go up to 31.5, but they settle at 30.5 stable for days. If you don't want to change the bios, try higher powerstages.

Multumesc. Totul este in regula acum.

Foarte constructiv comentariul. Din punctul meu de vedere este un bug care ii depaseste sau sunt prea multe buguri si nu fac fata sau nu le pasa. Singura platforma la care inca mai am tichete deschise a fost Cryptsy.
