5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's going on with this address? (spending bitcoins that haven't arrived yet?) on: November 23, 2014, 10:38:23 PM
Both transactions will probably confirm at the same time, so essentially they were simultaneous. And bitcoin supports transactions that build on each other so they have no problem to confirm. I can sign a transaction and "fund" it a few minutes later. They are both unconfirmed anyway until they can both confirm.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: when to invest? on: November 23, 2014, 10:35:10 PM
Hi, I'm sorry for the newb thread, I'm not sure this is the right place, so I apologize if not.

I don't have much money,  but have enough to invest in a few coins. Rumor is bitcoin us being adopted mainstream and will shoot up in value soon? I want to buy a couple coins while prices are low.

My questions are

1. Do you guys think bitcoin will shoot up in value (a good investment)?
2. Should I invest now,  OR will prices go lower before the go up?

I've already been verified,  so buying won't take days for me to verify my info.

Thanks

now is a pretty good time. so far, the best predictor of bitcoin price has been the general google trend. https://www.google.se/trends/explore#q=bitcoin

as you can see there, another hype may come at any time. or, the hypes are over for some time, but it's already at a low right now. if you're investing, don't spend more money that you are prepared to lose. the coins may halve in value in a couple of months and you wouldn't want to be in the need to cash out at that point. if you buy, be prepared to lose the money and not to touch the bitcoins for a couple of years!

Would you guys spend 2 years in UK prison or give the authorities your encryption keys?

9  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Circle is it a game changer? on: November 22, 2014, 05:00:40 PM
Is this finally what we need for mainstream consumer use.

A wallet that connects to my bank account and all my bitcoin is insured, mobile app on the way.

https://www.circle.com/

insured how? what happens if they go bankrupt with huge amounts of coins disappeared? customers get back most of it 1.5 years later, if the insurance company is still around?

I'm wondering

Is the website fair?

If you roll the dice 10 000 times will you win 0.22BTC?

you can only know if it's provably fair also.

OP : please reply.

I.have not gotten any update

im too not get update Sad

The thing is that I love playing at SatoshiCircle, and have been a loyal player in the past.
When ive contacted them in the past prior to the current situation, theyve been great at communicating with me and resolving the issue asap. That's why im so worried as to why the customer support ive been getting now has dropped down from a 10 to a 2 rating scale.

Ive been patiently waiting since February to see some action done regarding my issue.

I want to keep playing there, but until something has been done, im hesistant to because of concerns about their trustworthiness.

they seem to be fine... don't worry. probably among the most trysted sites for bitcoin gambling.

New spins show up as two hours old in the recent spins tab so you have some problem with the timestamps on your site.

19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just bought an Android phone for the BTC apps. Did I goof? on: June 03, 2014, 04:20:24 PM
The freedom of android is highly compelling.  Try it out for real.  It far and away has moreuseful features than iphone.  I have not regretted my switch.

Only problem is that it has slow menus and all that.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just bought an Android phone for the BTC apps. Did I goof? on: June 03, 2014, 04:13:06 PM
Apple or Android, you really need a clean standalone phone with nothing on it for bitcoin, preferably will not connect to internet unless needed. So the new Android phone will still be useful for you. Now you can choose to use iPhone as an everyday phone and Android for wallet, or the other way round.

+1

Use as a real wallet. Nothing can be more unsafe than the iPhone right now, so people better not install Bitcoin wallets on them anyway. BTW, I guess soon every other app will scan for Bitcoin apps and their priv_keys, so best not to install anything on the one used for Bitcoin.
