1  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin and money laundering on: July 22, 2014, 03:08:05 PM
I'm going to go ahead and get my book written so you guys and dolls can learn how to get around all thiese silly-assed "regulations".

Please do so.

I will.

I'm working on it.

I really would like to know how to get around the government with my bitcoins.

@OROBTC,

You said "there are several companies that advertise on the Internet that they will take your Bitcoin for gold.

Gold is the ONLY thing I have spent BTC on..."

Would you provide me with links to the companies online that take btc for gold, especially the ones you have dealt with? Many thanks to you.
2  Economy / Economics / Re: question: how can i grow my bitcoins on: July 22, 2014, 02:44:28 PM
I think we all want to grow our bitcoins. You just have to find your tolerance for risk since there's no profit without taking risks. Question is how much risk for how much profit?
3  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is a stock on: July 22, 2014, 02:22:01 PM
I rarely post, I am mostly a lurker, but I have to disagree here. Bitcoin is not a stock. It sometimes behaves like it but it also acts like commodity and currency. It's everything rolled into one. It's the answer to the century old question of Capital and the means of production.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: Bitcoin Demographics Highest Education Level on: July 22, 2014, 01:18:10 AM
I would answer 'High School' but I can't figure out how to vote in the poll.
I'll let the reader decide whether I'm joking or not.

you can't vote, you need more activity points.

Newbies can't vote.

I'm one of the newbies but I just voted. Huh

CHF or GBP for me.
6  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin survive without the Internet? on: July 22, 2014, 01:13:07 AM
What about directly communicating from cell phone to cell phone? transmitting bitcoins that way.

Cell phone to cell phone communication relied on internet infrastructure.

I don't think cell phone to cell phone communication relies on internet infrastructure. Some portion of the communication may depend on some form of network but the underlying protocols are dissimilar.

Yes, I was being sarcastic. I will be more clearer next time.

I have a friend whose cousin's roommate's friend works at Google. He told me last week that Google is working on integrating bitcoins into their eco-system.

Bitmaintech website only has S2 under products. They must be updating their website RIGHT NOW! The suspense is almost killing you.

Thanks everyone, I guess it's totally ok to change your terms in the middle of a groupbuy. I never knew it was ok anywhere else before. Thanks for straightening me out!!!

Another excellent payout today! At this rate, I'm gonna ROI soon, how do you do it James? Are you going to open up more your mining farm for shares?

waldo,

I may be interested in getting one S3 hosted.

I have read some of the group buys you have organized and have some concerns: such as,

You have changed terms AFTER miners have arrived and you started hosting, like increasing the management fees, sometimes doubling the fees. Can you give us assurances that you will not change the terms set forth at the start of the groupbuy?

I have another concern that I'd like to address after my question above has been answered.

Sincerely,

please show a link if you are correct.

Look at post #524.

Waldo has pulled the same trick on other groupbuys as well, advertizing low fee and then switching to higher fees AFTER miners have arrived.

If you don't believe me, please do a search yourself, I am a niewbie and yet I can come up with proof to back up my claims. You are a hero member, philipma!

It's Friday and that means payout is tomorrow! According to online calculators, 100 GHs should be getting around 0.004 btc per day, so 0.004 btc x 4 days = 0.016 btc. Let's see if James can work some magic and get us a better profit since he has "almost-free" electricity.

Wow, I was only expecting around 0.016 btc but James beat that, by alot! Thank you! I don't know he's done it. I can only hope that he works his magic going forward.

I don't understand all the love you guys show for Bitmain. Yes, they have delivered. No, their price has been reasonable, but not good for us miners. Most likely, they are going to price S3 at over 1 BTC, I'd say around 1.6 BTC or so. Why would they undercut their S2 models by selling S3 at 1 BTC or lower? It makes no sense. Don't be a fanboi.

Thanks, James!

Your group buy is the most cost effective one at this time. I wish I can buy more shares, maybe soon. Thanks again.
