Question - when is the public release? Q4 2018, Q1 2019, etc?
Answer - when its ready. The team is not working to a timetable - they are working to deliver a product. A new technology from scratch. One that works 100% and is secure. Until we are certain we have this there will be no public release. There will be no release of a half built platform as we have seen over the recent history of crypto.

I promised an update this week on progress towards the new Ultracoin platform.  The project is highly confidential at this stage because everything must be in place before release to the general public. We don't want to get swallowed by some of the large institutional players who have entered this space recently. What is being created here is VERY SPECIAL. I can report that: Solid work continues on the new platform base technology. Progress is good but the devs are a very thorough and careful bunch. Thorough testing and further development is still required and other peers have been brought in to assist, test and advise. Nothing will be released and rolled into Ultracoin until all has been thoroughly tested and confirmed working and SECURE. Unlike many other new projects in the crypto space - a WORKING PLATFORM will be delivered - not an open promise to develop one as best they can, if they receive enough money from you at ICO stages. There are no timeframes on migration - the Devs and management team will advise when they are ready. Thats the deal - there is no roadmap with timeframes. A draft whitepaper on the base technology has been written but it will not be released until this project moves to public announcement. A team from many disciplines including legal and marketing are working with the devs to put everything in place for public release. Currently funding is adequate for continuing development - the project is not seeking outside investments. The main message is - just wait. Something big is coming. Dear Ultracoin Community,
It is at long last that I can proudly say that after more than six months of rigorous development and testing, the latest iteration of Ultracoin has finally arrived. This update will require a fork which is set to actuate on block 1,824,237, which should roughly coincide with Wednesday, October 12th, 2016. The fork will completely overhaul the difficulty re-targetting system to be smooth under swinging hash rates, we have also made several other improvements including a streamline of the Ultracoin wallet which is much more stable and uses dramatically less RAM and CPU power. We are very excited to be releasing this update and we plan on seeing a major resurgence in Ultracoin volume and relevancy in the weeks to come. This marks a new chapter in Ultracoin’s legacy that I am honored to embark on with you all. The Official Announcement ----------------------------------------------------- WALLET UPDATE REQUIREDUltracoin is hardforking to a new and much improved wallet. This new wallet addresses many issues including the diff re-targeting causing trouble for miners and includes more efficient staking plus increased staking rewards (new wallet after fork - 5.6% PA). The fork date is set for Wednesday, October 12th , 2016 (block number 1,824,237). You should download, install and run the new wallet - preferably before the fork date. The old wallet will not function correctly after the fork. The new wallet files can be downloaded from here: https://mega.nz/#F!nAVymCQa!wdJ4DMaULSptCqC5BX8fCwThis link has downloads for both 32x and 64x Windows installations. The simplest installation of the new wallet is via running the appropriate setup.exe for your Windows operating system - either 32x or 64x i.e. "UltraCoin-v1.0.0.0-Win64-Setup.exe" or "UltraCoin-v1.0.0.0-Win32-Setup.exe" This applies if you want to install a NEW Ultracoin wallet - OR if you want to update an old installation. So - if you have a Win64 operating system - just download and run "UltraCoin-v1.0.0.0-Win64-Setup.exe" Once the installation has completed - you need to be sure to run the correct ultracoin-qt.exe so the NEW wallet opens (i.e. don't use your old desktop shortcut). Best create a new desktop shortcut - as follows - Navigate to C/Program Files/Ultracoin folder - Find the file ultracoin-qt.exe- Create a shortcut to this file - and put it on your desktop. Use this new shortcut to run the new wallet (and best to delete your old desktop shortcut) As always - be sure to back up and save your wallet files (wallet.dat) to several other storage devices. To all: the message below, from PaulR1, is an message from the Official Ultracoin Team Dear All, I was a long time in to the back ground but did see what happens the last two years in the Wild West of Crypto world and I also see the last few months what happens to UTC. I can and I will not judge what are the causes at our precious UTC. There are too much possible causes too point at. As for Steven, he has been a person who has done his utmost best for UTC in the last year. At this point Steven deserves absolute 200% credits. The reasons why Steven has been absent for longer time now is unclear. Because I don’t know the reasons I will not judge or condemn. It is just how it is at this moment. For now i can only understand, because of the 100% absence of Steven for a longer time, that he is unable or unwilling to take the lead of UTC. But the fact does exist that UTC is still a "living" coin and is a coin whit a future if the right people can lead this pad for UTC. At this moment we are in need of those people seriously. So there are still serious possibilities and big opportunities for UTC. Serious chances ! But those possibilities and chances are only possible if there will be a serious reboot take place soon. Quickly and smoothly. If there would be any possibility for me to take (again) the lead in the background I would accept that job with all my love, but unfortunately this is not possible for me due to other commitments. So what is needed now to get back Ultracoin up and running soon; - UTC needs a new General Leader of the Dev-team ; - UTC needs a new Coin Developer ; - UTC needs one or two Pool Operators ; - UTC needs a new Marketing Manager ; If it's up to me, the new team will be 100% dicision free as team and get full authorithy about UTC. Unfortunately, for now, these all are voluntary tasks and only persons that have UTC deep in their hearts can be serious candidates. Next to that, every candidate needs to realize that the voluntary tasks will ask a lot of (private) time without having any kind of financial compensation. Oke ! And then ? What now ? Hopefully we find some serious and capable volunteers who want to lead UTC in to the future and make it big again ! At long last, the much anticipated update is finally completed and available for download! In this update, we have updated the block reward schedule to ensure that Ultracoin remains sustainable long into the future. I know the reward drop may come as a shock to some of our miners, but I urge you that the long term repercussions would be much more severe if we don't take the responsible measures of tapering coin growth now. Block retargeting has been adjusted over a longer period of blocks which will smooth out the difficulty retargetting and ensure fairer distribution and a more secure network that is less susceptible to difficulty swing attacks and botnets. In this update we have decided to revert back to N-Factor 14 indefinitely in order to further our immunity from botnets, as CPU's get faster and GPU's become more powerful this will be a much more future proof solution, it is also still much more efficient than Scrypt and X11. Currently the update is only available for our Windows users, but updates for Macintosh and Linux are on their to be released soon, and I will update when they become available. The update is available for download below and should go into effect sometime around November 1st adjusting for current block time. Lastly, this update is Mandatory, meaning that you must update in order to be on the current most current Ultracoin network, Macintosh and Linux users please keep checking back until your update is available. I also want to thank our miners and community members for believing in Ultracoin and weathering the storm with us, it means a lot to me and the team, and I strongly believe Ultracoin will prosper because of the community and it's support.

Hello ladies and gentlemen,
I just wanted to provide everyone with a few quick updates. The ultracoin.net revisions have been made and the new website is up today and fully functional, check it out! Kracko has been working on the NF15 stall and block reward update as well as putting the final touches on the block retargetting. The pools and manual pay outs are to be taken care of as well, that is one of our highest priorities. The pools will also be converted to an automatic payout system to avoid future corruptions as what occurred with our current system causing the payouts to be stalled. We also have a full time pool operator that will be introducing shortly into the team to take care of pool operations full time with full community support. Expect more updates very soon.
