2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / New centibitcoin wallets on: June 22, 2014, 04:40:52 PM
Hi all,

With 1 BTC having recently been hovering at around $1000, I believe that most people outside the bitcoin commumity are confused and put off with using values such as this because the average layman finds it difficult to work outside of whole figures.

Therefore, I propose the use of centibitcoin wallets so that the bitcoin values are far more easier to understand for members of the public - as 1 cBTC would only be worth around $6 at the time of posting. This is a far more manageable sum considering the fact that many people are reluctant to deal with large sums such as the $1000 value a bitcoin recently was for fear of losing it somehow. The analogy here is that most people would not want to take a $1000 bill to the mall and the same, I believe, is true of bitcoins.

Bitcoin wallets could thus be used for savings and centibitcoin wallets used for shopping ( and even a millibitcoin wallet for tipping/donating on forums, etc).

Can the bitcoin community please release such wallets as this will only benefit the community as a whole.

That's my 2 cents worth .......... but what do you guys think?
3  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Boycott GHASH.IO/CEX.IO permanently on: June 22, 2014, 04:17:21 PM
if all people leave ghash, where will the go?

better off to have a 51% ghash, then a 51% unknown.

who are ghash anyway? ...... I mean, really?

They said they would never gain 51% of the hashrate ..... they did!
They said that they would allow users to use other pools ... but didn't!
They said that they would limit new membership ..... they haven't!
Now they say they will never launch a 51% attack on the bitcoin network ..... bearing in mind that ghash has been accused of double spending before, their assurances do not inspire much confidence in my opinion!

What do you guys think?

4  Bitcoin / Mining support / avalon 2nd generation keeps shorting the psu 12v rail! HELP! on: June 22, 2014, 02:41:53 PM
hi all,

I replaced all the blown caps on the 2 avalon project boards with Panasonic 470uF 25V 105 degrees low ESR electrolytic capacitors:

*I CANNOT INSERT IMAGE!

Now every time I switch on the unit the 12v rail is shorted on the psu.

Does anyone know what the problem is? Are the caps wrong?

The original caps are here:

*I CANNOT INSERT IMAGE!

I also would like to know if I can replace the chips on the boards which have burnt?

I think that these chips say cs016321 1248p mtsm7 but I have been unable to locate them anywhere - Can anyone help please?

Also, I have an smd blower so would I be able to put a second cs016321 1248p mtsm7 chip side by side with the original? I am thinking that this might reduce the single chips temp and prevent burning?

Any advice greatly appreciated
