1  Economy / Economics / Re: Dollar coming to an end on: July 21, 2014, 05:41:21 PM
Meh, I still think it's going to take a while for the dollar to die out. Before that even happens, a new currency has to start. Sure we can use online things like bitcoins, but people still like to carry around hard money. It's almost a sort of prize for them for working and earning that money. You can't carry money if you just have bitcoins.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Third largest Private Sector Bank of India is tweeting Bitcoin !!! on: July 21, 2014, 01:31:02 PM
Wait I don't understand how this would work. How would someone deposit/withdraw money from this? There is a slot but wouldn't that be for a credit card or something? How would someone go about using this machine?

I would assume that this could only be used to deposit money to convert to bitcoins, right?
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: List of Big companies accepting Bitcoin on: July 20, 2014, 12:42:24 AM
It's nice to see all of these companies accepting the future. I just wish more "gaming" websites would start following and getting their butts on track. For example, Jagex, the company that runs RuneScape still hasn't even started talking about this. I think we can all agree that the user base of bitcoins are the ones that use the internet frequently. And what better people to start accepting bitcoins than gaming companies?
4  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin money? An analysis from the Austrian school of economic thought on: July 19, 2014, 02:12:19 AM
I can use bitcoin on newegg, overstock, dell, etc. I can also use money on these sites. I consider it money.

Money is anything people consider something to be worth something. If a group of people consider a few rocks to be worth something, then it is currency to them. With the amount of traffic bitcoin has received, yeah, it'
s definitely money haha.
5  Other / Off-topic / Re: Legend of Korra is Back! 'Slowpoke' on: July 16, 2014, 10:19:15 PM
Here is the brief synopsis of most of the things for this thread:

The Legend of Korra is the series after Avatar the Last Airbender. Yes, the series continued. It did not stop after TLA. The legend of Korra is on season 3 as of now and has released 5 episodes of season 3. So far is seems that the fans have liked that season the best. Me personally, I like them all. I don't dislike anything about the series. But as far as the series goes, all of the Spanish episodes for season 3 have already been leaked so you can watch those if you want. Most people just wait for the English ones though. It has also been revealed that 2 episodes will be released every Friday for season 3. And also I think there will be a season 4 after this, which will most likely be the final season.

And yes, The Legend of Korra is definitely worth watching if you're already a fan of the Last Airbender.
6  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your favorite music genre? on: July 16, 2014, 10:11:20 PM
It's a bit different for me. I don't like any particular genre of music. In fact most of the music doesn't do it for me. But when I watch a show like some type of anime, I usually listen to the theme song every time. This causes the song to be stuck in my head and I start to like the song. I've done this for most of the songs that I like. The song doesn't have to be completely Japanese either. Some of the pokemon these songs are amazing too. I have a playlist that has these songs and it's the best one for me. Those songs just grew on me.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If we want Bitcoin to go mainstream, we'd better start doing stuff like this. on: July 15, 2014, 08:34:56 PM
Yeah something more needs to be done. I feel like not enough people know about it considering how amazing bitcoins really are.

When some popular company states that they will now take bitcoins, that does give bitcoin some more popularity, but that's not enough. Not enough companies/organizations do that, and even if some do, it might not make it into the news. What needs to happen is the community to start posting in other places other than this. Obviously don't stop posting here, but posting on other forums explaining to people what bitcoins are and why you should invest in them. But obviously much bigger things that that could be done.
8  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why have you joined Bitcoin? on: July 15, 2014, 08:19:45 PM
Originally I had only joined the primedice to try and get some free BTC, but then bitcoin started getting a lot more popular. Since then more and more threads about it have popped up on reddit and other popular sites making it a topic of choice between many people. Because of all of that talk, and how nicely bitcoin was made and how many uses it has, it's made me more interested in it. It's amazing how popular the bitcoin community on reddit is.
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if Runescape accepts Bitcoin? on: June 22, 2014, 08:57:35 PM
Runescape? You mean that game everyone used to play years ago?
The game is still alive mate. There are constant 40-50k players on. Although not as much as there used to be because the bots are now gone, that is still a large number.

But as far as Jagex accepting bitcoins, that would the best thing ever. I can see some player who have not played in a while jumping on just because they can get a month of membership easily by bitcoins. Someone really should suggest this to Jagex.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: June 22, 2014, 08:47:32 PM
Right now, bitcoin would be the best thing. It's easily trade-able and valuable in our time.

But theoretically speaking, gold is what drives out economy. If this was a previous time, gold would have been the best choice since gold is what controls the economy.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you sometimes think Bitcoin will fail? on: June 22, 2014, 08:36:27 PM
In my views, it won't. There is a HUGE fan base for bitcoins. Even this forum is getting tons of posts a day. People love it and want to support it. If something serious does happen to it, I can see the fan base sticking up for it and holding it up until the very end.

Sure there may be other competitors, but who says that both of them can't exist?
12  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fuck Summer! on: June 22, 2014, 08:27:49 PM
Seriously, it's the worst time of the year. At least in the winter you can cover yourself with multiple layers of warm clothing to keep a bearable body temperature. In the summer there is no escape. Either you blast a fan at your face and listen to that annoying sound all day, or turn the ac on which is a huge drain of money.
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: Your favorite game on: June 22, 2014, 08:16:20 PM
If we're only talking about those 3 consoles, then it will have to be legend of zelda twilight princess. That's the only one on there I think I've played. Maybe I've tried super smash bros brawl a few times, but zelda much more. It has a nice story line and different combat tactics. It's really fun.
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: My favorite drink is........... on: June 22, 2014, 08:06:46 PM
Water is something you should be drinking regardless of whether or not you like it. Less chance for bad things happening to you because of that:D

But my fav drink would have to be Orange Crush. That thing is the best drink ever!!!
15  Other / Off-topic / Minecraft's new EULA "changes" every player is talking about on: June 22, 2014, 07:55:21 PM
For the people who play minecraft, they know that this is a big deal. Even if you don't play it, just read this and say what you think.

Basically Mojang (minecraft's dev team) has improved their EULA which basically says that players who run minecraft servers cannot charge players money for ingame benefits. They can however charge for server entry, cosmetic benefits, or just something that doesn't give them a benefit in game over a non donator.

Now, for server owners, this is a big problem because this gives them less of a chance to bring in money to keep their server alive. They rely on donations to keep their servers up. If they can't give players in game benefits for money, then players will probably won't donate money to them.

For the regular player, this is great news however. For a player like me who doesn't want to donate $300 to ever server I visit, this is a good thing. Now I will be on the same playing field as any other player. By this I mean that every other player will be like me in the sense that nobody has over powered items that I can never get because I didn't donate.

Since I don't run servers, this is a good change for me. What do you guys think? Was it a good idea for mojang to do this? How will this effect minecraft? Is it a good change over all?

One thing i'd like to point out is that some server went bad. Bad in the sense that they were charge over $1000 for certain perks. Now this isn't a problem if a person is willing to donate this much, but some parents have been complaining to Mojang that their kid just lost $1000 on their game. But Mojang only sold them the minecraft account, the servers are run by the players. So mojang introduced this change.

Why do you keep asking questions?
