yea the wallet sucks..

they should answer this

Please try the following under "Network Connections", right click and edit your connection then go to IPv4 and IPv6 as follows:

The Google Public DNS IP addresses (IPv4) are as follows:

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
The Google Public DNS IPv6 addresses are as follows:

2001:4860:4860::8888
2001:4860:4860::8844

Does this work?

Been having wallet sync problems too - even tried these DNS settings, temporarily disabling AV/Firewall, deleting peer file and block files... ran with -rescan and -reindex, but no luck. So I reset my settings to normal (DNS, AV/FW) and simply opened up the Help --> Debug Window immediately after launching the wallet. Oddly enough I finally got a full sync after that. Could be coincidence/luck but may be worth a shot for anyone having the same issue.

Wallet has been synchronized since I last posted this - just bought some more stealth from bittrex and they showed up right away

Welcome aboard Parkkar and thanks for your well thought out post. Beck? You bet. If you have any connections there, sure a lot of us would be interested hearing about it and what is on your mind.

Some ideas to increase brand awareness:

- Find Youtubers that you like and enjoy their videos/feel they provide a good vibe/message then find them on twitter and follow them. Then send them a few karma as a thank you for what they do via the tipbot. Since they typically have many followers, this could be a good entry point into spreading brand awareness.

- Find new-media outlets/people who have close ties to charities. For example, Glenn Beck works with MercuryOne.org which is a great charity. Regardless of politics, the work that that charity does is fantastic. He also has been talking to his audience about Bitcoin lately on his radio program/web site and he has about a combined 10 million radio listeners/internet tv viewers http://vimeo.com/95295818. I think we should consider reaching out as a community to these types of people/organizations because not only can we do something good but people like Beck have a direct line to large audiences of people thereby increasing exposure. It would be a win/win. I think for things like this we just need to contact them, explain what Karma is and let them know ahead of time of any pushes we plan for their charities. We can then request a brief mention on the radio/website after a successful charity push. I'd be more then happy to try to work with TheBlaze/MercuryOne on this - but I feel timing is important. We should do these types of campaigns when there is a consensus that we are "ready" and Karma is at a good place to do so (from a functionality standpoint, not price). I mean, if Doge can send the Jamaican bobsled team to the Olympics and get their logo on a Nascar, surely we can do some good charity work and get Karma out there!

I'm new to the Karma community but glad to be here. Just wanted to share my thoughts and get a feel from the gang and the devs if this is something we all would be interested in.

Regards!

Thanks for the welcome! No, I don't have any connections over at MecuryOne Studios... I'm just a fan of Becks and subscriber to The Blaze internet TV/radio. I figured since I'm passionate about both the blaze and karma that I wouldn't mind investing some time into trying to inform them of karma and any charity pushes we may propose doing for them. I'm an independent technology/business strategy consultant so I have a lot of experience in putting effective and polished proposals together. But with that said, if the plan is to have an official PR firm then we can let them handle communications - I'm just thinking if we wanted to move on something like this before we have such a firm on board.

I reached out to Glenn Beck and the MercuryOne charity on Twitter to let them know that we are considering doing charity pushes for good causes as well as to increase awareness of Karma. MercuryOne responded back and gave me an email address to speak in more detail. I emailed them to explain that since we are a community, we have to come to a consensus as to when we would do charity pushes, work out internal logistics, timing etc but that I just wanted to be proactive with them for planning purposes. I explained that this isn't necessarily a tomorrow thing but we wanted to open up a conversation. They seemed receptive and said to contact them again once we've made a determination as to what we want to do, how and when so their team can review.

So we're under no obligation to do this but we now have an open invite for further dialogue. Thoughts?

Great, charity work is really one of our original components in Karma vision and mission to properly coordinate this please send a PM to karmala, or karmakaguy which is our charities and causes moderator about this.

thank you very much for your initative! This is the Karma attitude we need. It is true that we are just at the beginning of our charity work and that we need to stabilize the price first. However, what we can do now is to establish connections and to formalize how we will execute charity in the future. I would like to encourage you to envision a way how Karma should approach this in the future. The community can discuss this and future thresholds of our development to start it! Please go on doing what you started and post updates in our forum workgroup: http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php/board,20.0.html

Please be our contact to these groups and bring your vision to Karma!

Will do!  Smiley

I'm working on an iOS app and website release for a client so my schedule is tight for the next few days but once we launch I will be able to dedicate more time to this. I'll drop a link to the KarmaShares thread in here once I put some concepts and ideas together.

Regards!

Wallet has to be more stable before new bigger exchanges

This, have done all the tricks and still have yet to get my wallet to sync.
I transfered coins to my wallet days ago and they are still sitting unconfirmed.

 That last checkpoint they added:

Code:
(        6920, uint256("0x72129f1943af505f450e32e815e783870e33bd26b990222dcb91a837194b0a96"))

it screwed up the wallets and their ability to sync properly past block 6920.

ya same here. shows current block but still no sync

The problem is that there is no eligible stake on the network to mint a block. Everyone has coins at the exchange.

Users can help the value of this coin by moving some coins to hot wallets and letting them stake.

I bought some stealth on bitrex and transfered to my desktop wallet about an hour ago or so to add to what I had previously mined - but it's stuck in my desktop wallet with 0/4 confirmations and is showing as "Unconfirmed". Any ideas? Thanks!

New to the POS system... so if I have coins in my desktop wallet that haven't matured yet, do I need to keep my wallet running? I'm assuming in order to stake I only need to keep my wallet running once the coins have actually aged... is that right?

Code:
Coin PoS age: Min. 3 days / Max. 9 days / coins stop aging at 15 days

Yep, just keep them in your wallet for at least 3 days to mature, then they will start to Stake. You don't have to have your wallet open 24/7 to Stake; just open it and Stake every now and then.

If you send any coins out/in to the wallet, then those coins will have to mature again for 3 days once back in the wallet.

cool, thx!

"Not minting because you don't have mature coins" - I only had a few coins in my wallet at first and waited to transfer the rest from XHash after making sure the forking issues were all resolved so I wouldn't risk losing any. So they probably just need more time to bake in my wallet?

Yep, exactly!  It'll turn blue when staking.

Cool, thanks!

Hey guys! How do I make sure that I'm minting in the POS stage correctly? I've had my wallet encrypted and unlocked since POW finished but I haven't noticed any staked coins.

Thanks in advance

Check out the little stealth in the bottom right...when you hover over it what does the popup say?

Just installed the wallet on a clean VM installtion and my antivirus is starting to prompt me about attempted HTTPS communications which are not properly certified. Anyone else seen this behavior? I'm not surfing the web or anything but running the wallet in this VM.

www.2f4wjuitojinshiy.net, www.cq2kdjce4ghjrjtu.com and www.su54yhjv.com are just a few that the AV asking me to approve - they are always "gibberish" like that those.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CSC] CasinoCoin v1.2.0 | DigiShield Enabled | Updates Coming on: July 10, 2014, 03:46:26 AM
OK, here it goes, .... a first BETA version of the android casinocoin wallet. Go to https://github.com/ajochems/casinocoin-android-wallet/releases/tag/v0.9.0 to download the apk file. It is a non-signed development apk so you need to set your android device in developer mode and sideload it onto a device using the android sdk toolkit. Execute the adb tool with: adb -d csc-wallet-0.9.0.apk

Later on a production ready, signed version will be uploaded to the Google Play store. Please use GitHub issue management to report any issues!

Enjoy!

Any plans for an iPhone release or is Apple still crushing crypto app innovation?

Dear community,

please vote if we should persue this small charity fundraising effort: http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php/topic,437.0.html
It is for an organisation fighting against sex slavery of children in the US. The idea came from the community and I propose that we raise 100$ in Karma as a Symbol for what will come from Karma in the future.

please vote

your KarmaKaguy

I think it's a good idea. It's for a good cause as well as helps get out brand recognition.

I had bad experience with crypsty, this morning I sent some redd to cryptsy,
now I went to crypsy and still didnt receive, it is in pending after 7-8hours.
I suspect it is caused by cryptsy, people reported problems with that exchange

tr.ID
ae62068a029ea1d30f56f77500ae46ed56fcb1b1729ae9370a532697ce681b85

I would rather think it is this, taken from the poloniex announcements.

"REDD was 51% attacked. Some trades were rolled back and minimum confirmations for deposits have been raised to 600."

What is the number of confirmations you need on crypsty now?

Ok, this makes sense then. I had transferred a bunch of RDD from cryptsy to my desktop wallet a few hours ago and everything came through just fine and coins arrived ok but then I just looked at my desktop wallet and my balance no longer includes that deposit. I assume this is because transactions were rolled back but does this mean I've lost the coins or are they just going back to cryptsy and then i have to reinitiate the transfer? Thanks in advance!

What do you all think about getting hooked up with something like this? https://bitkee.com/

Personally, I like the dogtags. Reason I ask is another coin that I follow (CasinoCoin) just got added to BitKee. Aside from the "cool factor" of having a Karma dogtag for example, there's obviously the more practical reason of having legitimate cold-storage.

Just a thought  Smiley

This is good for all cryptocurrency: http://www.cnet.com/news/bitcoin-gets-buy-in-from-newegg-the-tech-focused-retailer/

Aside from Dish Network (Satallite TV) now accepting Bitcoin by their customers to pay their monthly bills, Newegg.com just announced Bitcoin acceptance (hence the recent bump in BTC/USD).

Anything which gives cryptocurrency legitimacy to the layman is also directly good for all coins. :-)

Also, just curious what the recent explosion in Karma can be attributed to? I can tell there is a good community here and am happy to now be a part of it, but was there some press release announced or something which alerted more people to Karma? It makes sense that Karma would eventually increase in value, just trying to determine why yesterday was the day it did so.

Thanks!

Yesterday was the day it moved back to a BTC pairing on the Mintpal exchange which brought with it a lot of rush.  There were some announcements last Friday but not the same effect, price-wise.

Yes, but I think the prompting of getting the BTC pairing back on Mintpal was due to an increase in volume/price from the existing LTC pairings out there - so trying to figure out what prompted the initial LTC trade explosion yesterday (or maybe it was the day before yesterday). Don't get me wrong, not knocking a good thing just wanting to get an understanding  Smiley

the innovation behind this! http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php?topic=389.msg1875#msg1875  I cant wait until those folks out there get it... Wink

That's what I was looking for... exciting stuff! Thx!
