What does playoffs mean? Will they end up in the qualifying round of the Conference League rather than in the group stage? To be honest, I was never interested in this tournament and I don’t know what the rules are. Either way it is a great achievement for the club and if they play any big club there (like Chelsea which ended up in the Conference League after United won the cup) it will be a historic milestone for the club and the fans.

Playoffs are just like qualifiers that get you into the real tournament, usually there are clubs from Europe lower leagues that usually just get playoff qualification spots and if they progress from there they get included into the competition, this isn’t only applicable to the conference league alone but also happens in the champions league and the Europa league. The two competitions had their own scrapped because there is a lower competition which is the conference league which a club falls down to if they fail to qualify for the others.

The historical reason why Heidenheim are playing this, is because first spot belongs to either the seventh placed team or the winner of the DFP pokal of the team fails to qualify via regular spot. The 7 position which is Hoffenheim had already qualified to the Europa league because of the Bundesliga having five teams going to the Champions League after a another spot was awarded to them which meant that the two Europa league spot goes to the 6 and 7 placed teams. The other regulation stopping Heidenheim then was Kaiserslautern who were playing the DFP pokal final with Bayer Leverkusen and outside the top Bundesliga teams. Had they won they would have created history as the first club in recent times to be in a European competitions and not in the top tier league

I remember that Xavi said (even when he was about to quit) that he needed a break of a year in order to rest and recover. Plans may change, but probably for this he must receive some interesting offer. With all due respect, he has not yet outgrown the status of a “beginner” coach, so it is unlikely that he will receive it, he needs to choose some ordinary club to prove himself or wait for the mood to change in Barcelona and return there.

I am seriously one of those people that actually think whenever a manager gets sacked or leaves his position probably because of poor management and team performance they shouldn’t rush back into getting another job. Taking a year off your job doesn’t only get you a free time with your family but also gives you the luxury to watch your tactics and back test matches that didn’t went well. You can use that period as a form of sabbatical. Xavi to me just like some younger managers rushed back into managing a club as huge as Barcelona with having a good record or probably a pattern they can boost of that they have used in the past and has worked for them.

This isn’t praising Xavi but to me he has done well with this Barcelona side who have more problems than just the one we see on the pitch. The internal struggles the club faces could create a difficult environment for even the top managers. Put this Xavi in a smaller club he would have been on the news now about been exceptional but the pressure at Barcelona is just too big for him to shoulder at this stage in his managerial career. For me he should take a one year break and later come back

Folks, Conte to Serie A? That hits it out of the park. The equivalent of a grand slam! This person is successful. See what he did for Juventus. Ashley. Between. His teamwork skills are top-notch. Napoli needs a team that can win. They did win the championship in '23, but everyone knows that last season wasnt exactly great. No worries, though. Conte is very skilled. Everything is repairable for him. And Napoli will be unable to be stopped with his strategies. Observe. Lets talk about these deals for our players... A lot of money, I love it. We wont sell our souls for a few extra bucks, though. We must think carefully. Lets think about what will happen next. We need stars that can help Conte reach his goals. Relax, we'll find the right guys.

Conte is definitely a better bet at any club in Serie A, his own method of packing the bus, playing high flying wingbacks,  two holding midfielders and hitting on a counter  is something that is seen as old fashioned football but seriously still works out in today’s modern football but not just as before. If Oshimen decides to stay at Napoli I think he will be the most important player in Conte’s squad. We have seen in the past how conte prefers strikers who can bully defenders, tall and have pace and Osihmen easily ticks all those boxes. So it will be a perfect match to me.

But my Major concern still remains that Antonio Conte doesn’t stays long in a club, the highest number of seasons he spends this days is just three seasons. Napoli to me need a manager that after a rebuild is done can stay with them for a very long term. Frequently switching managers only draw a club back and sometimes doesn’t guarantees continuous success, the deal should probably be with future understanding to extend just like the one year clauses on player’s contracts
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Every possible wrong crypto advices on: May 27, 2024, 12:04:37 PM

2. Use a single, multi-coin wallet for all your crypto holdings because it is more convenient to have them all in one place.

3. Don't sell any of your assets no matter how high the market may go because it will always go higher in the future.

2. This depends on the wallet you’re using, using a hot wallet you’re definitely risking everything if they are on the same wallet in fact even if they are on different wallet but on same device then there is still no too much difference. But a cold wallet like hardware wallet could still be much safer even if you have multi-coins on them. You cannot because of you want to split your coins into different wallet have some portion in hot wallets, except those on hot wallet are not that big. If you must use too different wallet then it should be cold wallets and not same device that’s more secure.

3. This actually has been a debate but agree that not taking profits is definitely a huge risk of it, there is never a loss when you take profit. But still there are coins that you have great conviction or narrative about that they will pump in future example is bitcoin so why not take out your capital and some little profits from it. If it rugs you will still be on advantage

5. You can become rich by taking a loan to invest in crypto.
At some points OP, I consider some sense out of this because if you can loan from an understanding body who may ask give you a more convenient time to pay back, then I don't see anything wrong here. Bitcoin is not a get rich quick to venture into loaning to Invest under pressures of paying back in a short time otherwise, there is a succeeding faith to be prosperous on loaning to venture on crytop investment.
This is just about understanding but it would be a failed attempt when the investor dares to take loan invest crypto conditionally on paying back in a short time.

No matter how huge the potential of bitcoin increasing in future Is and how long a loan repayment time is, never take loan to invest in a volatile asset. The possibility of it growing in profit is still a probability just as much as the risk too
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer getting a loan for a startup or getting an investor? on: May 27, 2024, 11:49:43 AM

If you have a well thought out business idea but don't have the needed capital to keep it functional, is getting a loan the best option or looking for interested investors?

Would trying to start up the business in your own little way the best option or can you consider bringing a third party into the business who will just serve as a partner that contributes just money?

The option to take actual depends on the conditions given to you, firstly of all taking loan is the most risky thing to do most especially for a business that is just kick starting. The risk of the business collapsing and you haven to pay back the loan is the most worrisome factor in taking loan.
The reason why you even see lots of people going to take loan is because they don’t have anybody that wants to invest in them, so having this option is already a step ahead for them. Investors most at times comes with less risk and gives you more time than the loans.

My pick is seeking an investor but that depends on the conditions they take, most investors do not take liable of the risk in the business, they take far too much profits of the business and mostly leave the business runner with bearly nothing. So if the conditions too seems far too stretched then I would also abolish this and maybe seek out governments grants which are far better although very hard to get

6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Error getting while running BB code to this forum or I wrote a wrong? on: May 26, 2024, 10:39:18 PM
No you are not the only member getting this code error, first of all I will advise you read this thread by 1miau on how to draw tables using the BBcode.

The errors mostly varies so it depends on why you got yours, first it could be limit of bytes exceed and therefore cut the table into two. Secondly which I think might be the case for you is adding a character where there shouldn’t be in the code or opening a table with without closing or closing with properly opening anyone.

Just use the guide in the thread and check through your code again.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hashrate increases. on: May 26, 2024, 09:44:36 PM

I think instead of spending more electricity fee than the mined BTC value, why not buy BTC directly.

Although is definitely not too surprising because first ideally as the bitcoin rewards gets cut into halve my predictions has been that many miners will step out of the mining business and then it would reduce the hashrate power but prior to the halving the amount gotten from mining bitcoin mostly by transaction fee which where plummeted high by the inscription and runes saga was enough to get more people into this area or probably increase the hashrate power has more sophisticated mining equipments come.

At the moment if you don’t hold a very large amount of funds setting a mining rig to mine bitcoin to me wouldn’t be that profitable, i will definitely just buy bitcoin and hodl for long

Imagine if Bayer had won the whole season and ended it with two defeats in the finals. It would be a very strange feeling  Grin
But if Kaiserslautern had won, that would also have been a miracle - after all, they are only the 13th team in the second Bundesliga. This team also surprised everyone and I hope to continue to progress. Overall, I am very pleased that Bayer won and did the golden double (without a single defeat in Germany during the season).

Kaiserslautern were definitely living the dream this season, they scale pass through some of the Bundesliga clubs and winning the cup would have been an icing on the cake for them and one of the stories of the season. But a win will have seem to shatter all what Xabi Alonso had worked for throughout the season. Personally I feel like they seems just too relax in the too finals and were over themselves, this was probably because of the league triumph celebrations which Is why it is better not to do  too much of the celebration after winning a title and the entire season isn’t just over.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: May 26, 2024, 08:56:44 PM

Real's advantage is not so great that any result in this game will be anything special. And by the way, if you compare it with comebacks in the playoffs when after the first game the underdog team reverses the result, then the comparison will definitely be in favor of two-game confrontations.
And about the unexpected: Atalanta's victory, United's victory... perhaps that's enough  Grin

I don’t understand the advantage but if we look at it categorically using every available stats I don’t think Dortmund holds any advantage In this game, they will definitely come out in high spirit to play but mate compare the caliber of both players. Real Madrid is definitely a force to reckon with in the champions league and Dortmund definitely doesn’t stands a chance.

To me Atlanta’s victory wasn’t as surprising as Manchester United and Also wouldn’t if Dortmund pulls out one. Atlanta were definitely up there with Bayer Leverkusen too. They eliminated power horses like Liverpool and sporting, Leverkusen didn’t have such opponents en route to the Final

Real Madrid should win this particular game, this particular season with these squads 999 out of 1000 times, if it's in the Champions League. If Dortmund were to snag a win here, I'd be surprised!

Even the bookmakers are tipping Madrid for the win, on Duelbits Madrid has just 1.62 odd compare to Dortmund 5 odd, even a draw isn’t seen as a realistic chance in this game. Anybody going for a Dortmund is just doing it for gambling sake and not related to the football both teams play.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 26, 2024, 08:25:00 PM
It is really funny to see some Manchester United fans say something like this towards Arsenal. I don't even think Manchester United fans should come out and start mocking Arsenal in this way after Arsenal defeated them home and away this season. Arsenal is playing in the Champions League next season, but Manchester United just had an opportunity in Europa, so I don't think mocking Arsenal fans in this way will cause them that much pain.

Let’s take a little dig at Arsenal I will say all this talks are just too big rival clubs having a banter at each other. Arsenal were once again cut short of winning the premier league this season due to Manchester city and Pep Guardiola continued dominance yes we can’t take away the season Arsenal have from them we need to give them the accolades they deserve but hey I think people who say Manchester United had a better season are talking relatively to silverware and Manchester United aside the league winners Manchester city are the only club to win so yes on that level I support it that they have a better season.

Why will someone even think that a good coach like Arteta will be fired? I don't think any club on earth will currently like to fire Arteta for his performances this season, finishing the Premier League table in second place and making it to the Champions League quarterfinals with his current squad. Honestly, it is not easy work. Currently in the Premier League, one of the best coaches this season after Guardiola is Arteta. And with this arteta, I believe Arsenal will achieve what they want very soon. Arteta has the potential to win different titles. Let's keep our eyes on next season.

All this Arteta getting sack are just Arsenal haters spreading rumors or some of their supporters who are just biased to me. Let me not over hype but seriously Arteta is definitely up there with the young Managers with a great potential and with patience he will certainly get things done in the right way
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 26, 2024, 02:53:53 PM
Last night was Toni Kroos' last time playing at the Santiago Bernabeu as a Real Madrid player and he went on to become a complete legend. Even Real Betis players also gave him a guard of honor before the match and it seemed that everyone had their own impression of this 34 year old player from Germany.

The saddest thing is of course for Modric considering that he was abandoned by his midfield colleagues for many years and that will be a day he will never forget. Even though the match ended in a goalless draw, both teams still gave a good game and at the end of the match Toni Kroos was the MVP. That also closed a sweet moment at home and we will definitely miss Toni Kroos who always spoils the eyes with his passes.

Yesterday was definitely a memorable and also a sad day for all madridistas, you could see the emotions pulling out when he walked out to be replaced by Dani Ceballos, his own children, teammates and some fans were in tears that’s how high in admiration many in Madrid hold Toni Kroos, but as they say every good thing comes to an end. Right from the moment he posted on X that he is retiring you could see the appreciation most of his teammates and Ex teammates shown him, even his opponents were celebrating a legend. I first didn’t believe and was like he could still go to smaller clubs and play but I remember him saying he wants to retire at Madrid.

Yesterday’s match I was just watching his passing stats thinking the accuracy will fall below 90% for the first time in his career but man kept his legacy intact and left with even an MVP award. Now he has two trophies to win; the champions league and the Euros which will be a colorful way to end such an illustrious career.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 26, 2024, 02:42:10 PM

Nearly same story we are having in Premier League where we already lost Pochettino, Chelsea with Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool and now Eric Ten Hag, Manchester United and few more are already gone which are making things interesting we are having 2024 not good for the coaches in many leagues and things are going to be more problematic in coming season because now owners are having no patience with coaches, and they are doing things with immediately which are not ideal, but they are having right and using this all.
Few weeks back I read somewhere about Milan is having contract with Conte, but now we are having different candidate which is strange, but all will be clear in coming days as we will have all things inter into transfer window.

First let’s start with the fact that Manchester United hasn’t even sack Erik ten Hag, even if the plan on doing so then yesterday’s FA Cup will have given him another lifeline. Yes as you have just said most clubs are getting too impatient with managers this days and are just sending them away. In the past you have managers getting build their team but this days we see club’s hunting for quick success.

The only good part of this sackings are the fact that we will soon see the evolution of new managers coming out mostly the retired players getting a pat by their old clubs or others to take the managerial role, last season we experienced how some retired players showcased that they can do this also; the likes of Xabi Alonso of Bayern Leverkusen, McKenna of Ipswich, Fabregas of Como and lots more, probably this is the Time for some to take the big stage too.

Previously there were rumors that Michael Olise was very close to Manchester United and now Chelsea doesn't want to lose in the competition to sign the Crystal Palace player's contract. I think Manchester United will still be able to recruit a player like Michael Olise even though the price is quite expensive. That's because Manchester United is positioned at number 2 as the most valuable club this season after Real Madrid, so they won't have any difficulty in transferring players.

This is also what ultimately made the Glazzer brothers not want to sell Manchester United to Qatari investors because every season they can always make a lot of money despite their declining performance. Even if Erik ten Hag doesn't get enough transfer quota then they will have to lose in this competition to Chelsea who also have good finances.

Been the most valuable club doesn’t mean you can splash out the cash on just every signings, the valuable status doesn’t even mean the money they currently hold but some other assets too. Manchester United have in the past been spending extravagantly on players that usually turn out to be flops and that’s why you still find them among the clubs with most debts despite been so valuable. With the FFP rules this days getting strict they would have to watch their spending
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Input from community on transfer fees on: May 25, 2024, 10:11:28 PM

P2P is the best way if you want to avoid paying huge withdrawal fee especially when the amount you are trying to withdraw is small.

https://kycnot.me/ is place where you can find all the available options to convert fiat to crypto or vice versa and crypto to crypto without going through any KYC process. You may have to pay higher fee than the market fee depends on which fiat that you are using to buy crypto.

I don’t think P2P can help here, OP is trying to move funds from a centralized exchange to his custodial wallet. If he does P2P on an exchange he might still need to pay transaction fee for the bitcoin to be moved to his wallet. The reason why OP seeks a decentralized exchange is because there transfer charges of withdrawal charges are usually small compared to the centralized exchanges. OP should simply use exchanges that charges lower and move his funds out of the exchange.

With this amount of the transaction fee, you don't have to complain but if your transaction fee is higher than this then you have only done few transactions in the wallet.

I don’t understand this better but I think you might have misunderstood the question here, OP is seeking a lower withdrawal charge exchange at the moment. Transaction fee on exchanges do not in anyway havd to do how many transactions you have made, they fix a withdrawal charges using some criterias and that’s all

I think you need to go through the code for the table again probably you might have closed one which wasn’t opened or maybe there is a character added before open a table code like a space character before opening the table that has Also cause errors like this (signature codes).

Another invalid BBcode might be that the bytes are more than the limit, so I think you need to cut them into two

Yeah, that's what it is. Posts over 65535 bytes get cut off at 65535 bytes. If that makes the BBcode invalid in certain ways, then you get the INVALID BBCODE error.
Also, note that a byte is different from a character. Because SMF stores "special" characters in a particularly space-inefficient way, each Russian character uses about 6 bytes, and each line break also uses 6 bytes.
15  Other / Meta / Re: Some people that left this forum recently on: May 24, 2024, 02:54:04 PM
The honest truth is that mixer campaigns paid higher in terms of post incentives but since there's non high paying campaign, it still made some members lose interest on the forum pluse the fact that they can not talk freely and make reference to some sites for Bitcoin privacy.

I will rule out the not talk freely part, yea the forum has been placed under some certain restrictions which are just word of url filtering to direct mixer sites not to promote mixers as signatures (since they contain the url too) but all other freedom of the forum still exists so I wouldn’t say the reason why the whole lots of members left were solely because of lack of freedom.

The Siezure of Chipmixer was definitely the first stroke that affected the forum, the amount paid was definitely kind of an incentive for them and having to post 50 posts a week was a motivation to come here everyday to do something. When it ended some of them were definitely done with promoting any campaign here again as the remaining ones didn’t probably align with their narratives, so the 50 post which seems like a must a week reduced.

Another reason again is for the technical board, there was certainly no new projects or proposals coming in like they use to have in the past and that reduce the engagement on that board which was reason why some members visit here and as made them to reduce their engagement in the entire board. So there are many reasons that has affected the forum lack of traffic this days.

Off topic though; I see the reduce engagement of the reputable members on the forum affecting the merit circulation also has this has also reduce the number of merit sources here. Needless to say but merit is also like an encouragement to others to post more quality threads here and it’s reducing though
16  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: different address types on: May 24, 2024, 02:05:34 PM
Hello

I intend to sweep funds from a paper-wallet and other funds from an old BRD-wallet (12 words known) into Electrum (preinstalled on Tails).

Nothing to worry about, you simply just import the wallet seed phrase into an electrum wallet and choose the Bip39 option. BRD wallet supports native and nested SegWit address so when choosing the script type make sure you know the address script type to use. Here is a thread by Fillippone to guide you

For security purposes you can as well create a new electrum wallet and seed funds from there to there.

1.
Do I have to care something about during start/setup of Electrum (Tails) if I inted to make a donation to https://grapheneos.org/donate
(there are different addresses listed/suggested at https://grapheneos.org/donate and I don't know which address-type to use) ?

You can send bitcoin to any type of its address formats from any type of format. It’s not necessary they must be in same script format. So pick any of the first two from the site.

2.
Sometimes in the future I will be required to show simple Bitcoin tasks to an audience. That means a transaction (of about 5 USD) to a
person of the audience should be confirmed withhin about 5-10 minutes. Should i use Bech32m (Taproot) addresses for such a demo?

The problem with bitcoin transaction is you can’t set a time limit for it. The default time for a new block to mine is 10 minute if you pick the high priority fees but still this time varies as it can be way less than 10 minutes or higher than it.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 23, 2024, 07:16:54 PM
I really cant believe Sorloth or Dovbnik are gonna be the top scorers of this league, or the "pichichi" like they said in spain, but well this is footbal and everything can happen, im sure nobody can expect this fight when the season has just started, and less when Bellingham seems like he is gonna score in every single game at the start of the season.

If we analyze the situation surrounding how this guys come out to be the top scorer this season you wouldn’t be so shocked to see them there. Over the years Barcelona, Real Madrid or occasionally Atletico Madrid have always produce the highest goal scorers which are most their talisman or top center strikers. This season if you analyze it, both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid were poor and that reflected in their strikers performance too who were not in top form. Both Morata and Lewandowski were definitely below par this season and definitely do not deserve the pichichi award.

Now come to the only club out of the three that a good season which is the champions Madrid, they would have easily gotten a player that wins the award but they do not have any world class striker upfront. Bellingham who was pushed forward more was the one behind their Gail’s and as it usually happens to midfielders, the goals went dry. The other players like Vinicius, Joselu and Rodrigo were them sharing the spoils, the disperse goals between this players was why Madrid didn’t have a player winning it at the moment. But seriously I like how the award went, it means other club players can also win individual award
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best Crypto Wallet on: May 23, 2024, 02:36:50 PM
Firstly Op don't store you coins on an exchange because although they are not decentralized they also have full control over your coins. Now since you are going to be hodling the coins, I guess  you won't be visiting them often therefore for a safer option I recommend you store the coins on an offline wallet ( a cold storage) or an air gapped device. If you are going to be making use of an air gapped wallet you should make use of an open source wallet and the best I'll recommend for you is ELECTRUM.

Electrum is certainly a wallet that I will also recommend for any bitcoin storage but looking at the OP’s preference I think using electrum will be a thing of trouble for him because he still needs to store his usdt. What I think OP is trying to do is probably sell at high price keep the usdt and then buy back at low prices again. Overall it is bad strategy to me. But if that’s what OP wants then he Should go for unstoppable wallet he can save up the two coins there and they still have the swap service there.

Make sure you have a physical back up of your wallet seed phrase and if possible your master private key also. This will help you recover your wallet even if the air gapped device eventually crashes.

There is no need for a back of master private key, the seed phrase can be use to recover the wallet and even in the future if electrum fails to exit one can still use tools to recover back the master private key again. Backing it up now will just be a redundancy. More of the reason why seed phrase is the perfect choice for back up
19  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best way to protect your Bitcoins wallet on: May 23, 2024, 07:36:07 AM
Cold wallet are the best way to secure your Bitcoins because they cannot be accessed.
Once you transfer your keys to the cold storage , only transfer what you need to your hot wallets.
Also,

Firstly yes the cold storage are regarded as the most secure means of storing your bitcoin simply because your keys do not get access to the internet of at all they are setup well. But that doesn’t mean they can get access to them, you still need to secure the device and most importantly the seed phrase or private key well. Should any one get hold of you seed phrase back up then they can simply get access to the wallet.

1, the best way to secure your keys is to combine cold and hot wallet uses so that only the cryptocurrency you need at the moment is in the connected wallet.

I agree with you that little amounts for daily spending can still be kept on hot wallets, but it seems you’re confusing the word connecting both. You can simply use a hot wallet to track transactions of your cold wallet in a watch only mode and also use to create an unsigned transaction and also to broadcast a signed transaction also.

2, cold wallet, also called cold storage the best way to secure your Bitcoins private keys .

I can’t agree less but the best method again is how you back it up offline, do not leave them laying on cold storage device only, the device can maybe run into problems and you will need a backup to recover your wallet. Back your keys up offline in two to three different places

3, some exchange provide institutional_level secure cold data storage for user's kes, but some critics advise against this method.

You call them critics? I don’t, stay off centralized exchanges that promise to secure your funds for you, be your own bank by going for self custodial wallet
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A quick reminder to all beginners, the cloud is someone's else computer. on: May 22, 2024, 09:38:16 PM
Why would trust wallet add up Google drive to back up your recovery seed, it can be tampered with because it will be prone to hackers.
I know there are lots of documents that is saved on Google Drive, but your recovery seed which is you're top secret shouldn't be one of it.
Your seed phrase should be within you alone or where you've written it down, bringing in a cloud storage system is like bringing in a third party which for me is not among the initial idea of having a seed phrase. Hackers and scammers are scavenging the whole of the internet every day looking for who to devour, so keeping your keys offline should be your priority.

Is this the only warning that scares you about trust wallet, Trust wallet has proven in the past that it shouldn’t be used for any reasonable cryptocurrency storage. They are closed source wallet which is not that good for a cryptocurrency wallet as have codes that stores your key or phrases with them. Also they are rumored to been owned by Binance a centralized exchange which is another red flag for them. I could Remember ledger switching or implement different options like this for seed phrase storage until they started getting hack regularly.

My advice is stay off Trust wallet, create a new wallet. There many multi coin wallets that can be used for storing Altcoins and bitcoin, you can use Unstoppable or metamask as software wallets or use a hardware wallet instead. Do not import your seed phrase from trust wallet to your new wallet rather creat a new wallet instead and sweep the coins there
