i forgot all about this theard. anyway i got it fix. both cards are mining fine. i used a dummy plug instead of a hdmi cord. also using trixx for OCing an underclocking the memory. only using msi AB for monitoring temps and stuff. thanks though

im getting about 303 mhash/s im happy. are you using extenders for your cards? i have 2 slots for 16x and 2 slots for 1x. can i use a 1x >16x extender for the x1 slots?

i got a 5830 getting around 305mhash/s core@960/mem@300 fans @75%, 67c is the hottest. the other cards should be here within the week. going to try and get 1.2ghash/s...
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 5830 temps in 90s? on: July 31, 2011, 08:36:59 AM
ok im going to DL it now thank you jedi-master!
edit:
just put trixx on my mining rig and i got about 960core/300mem. so far about 62c. so just wondering is it wise to keep the mem clock down and the core up? what should be the highest safe point the core should be at for 24/7 mining?
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / how can i use both cards? on: July 31, 2011, 08:36:08 AM
sorry guys im new to this. is there some guide that you can point me to for my problem. i just bought a 5830 for cheap but i have a 4850. i would like to use both for mining. my 5830 gets about 300 mhash/s @935/500mem(cant go lower in msi afterburner) the 4850 is getting about 100 mhash/s if that. i want to mine with both to get around 400mhash/s until my other 5830s come in.

here is where im stuck. i have plug both cards in. the 5830 is plugged into a dvi>vga>monitor. the 4850 is plugged into a HDMI>tv/monitor. i did that because i read it has to be plugged in or use a dummy plug. i dont have any yet. now i had my settings set for the 5830 i.e. OC'd/fan speeds. now i cant use them. its as if the 4850 is there. i can still mine on the 5830 about 275mhash/s but on the 4850 its like 5mhash/s lol.

what do i do to fix this? thanks for the help in advance! also can i run 4x5830s on a corsair 750tx psu? im using a 710w kingwin cheapo right now until the other cards come in then ill switch psu from my gaming rig.

I run a total of 75 5830 sapphire extremes and NONE of them have ever gone above 74c so yes something is wrong bro. all mine are clocked at 975/300 and they stay about 67c

damn! 75? nice how do you get the mem clock to go lower? my 5830 goes to 500 thats it.

mines hit about 69c OC'd 930clock/500 mem clock

does anyone know whats the name of the metal or aluminum type of knex? i had metal millennium falcon when i was 8. so like 18 yrs ago. it had nuts, bolts washers. you would have used a ally key to tighten them. cant think of the name.
