1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: September 06, 2014, 10:34:27 PM
im starting to suspect hashnest and their promotion of a scam. 2 days and i havent recieved any free hashes . im starting to suspect its just a way to manipulate people into checking their site out since one of hasnest demands is to make a account there. is hashnest starting business with a scam right in bitmains thread? i havent recieved nothing and if you look around theres more people complaining about the same thing. bitmain can you clarify this issue please? is there anyone who got hashes from hashnest ? come forward and speak .

I'm not sure it's a scam.  But it's certainly not a good idea to "invest" into.  It'd be the same as me telling folks to sent me 1.6 BTC, and over the course of the next year and I'll slowly send most, but not all, of it back to you.

I really do not see the logic/benefit in providing that service, are we missing something?

I suspect at least some users are buying to resell to someone less informed.  ie, the money is on the trading, not on the mining.

So I made a small investment and purchased 200ghs on UMISOO.  Currently my average payout is roughly 0.004btc a day with a 0.0014 per day fee, which gives me roughly 0.0026btc per day profit.  That gives me a ROI of roughly 3.5-4 months.  Now that is not awesome however CEX with it's 55-105% fees has a much worse ROI if any at all.  Also as mentioned once trade begins I strongly believe ghs will start matching the price of other cloud sites and go up to anywhere from 0.0022-0.0038, at which point ROI will be obtained any time I cash out.
On the other original topic I submitted for the free 1ghs and received it about 8 hours later, as did my friend.

In 4 months difficulty will increase 400% and that will affect your ROI
shhhhhhh we don't talk about difficulty here.

Loving the site.  Good job looking forward to more to come.

Will gh/s purchased on UMISOO have the ability to be traded or sold?  If so when will this feature be added?

Thanks

Confused but bought a Prime 5, let's see what happens.

Bitmain is a good company, pretty much right now the only good company out there in regards to miner manufacturing. No worries
I agree, Bitmain always delivered, product does as it should and doesn't breakdown.

Slightly concerned that I've heard nothing for a few days now.

I've had no more emails from Bitmain other than order confirmation from batch 5 Sad

I just got my Batch 5 shipping confirmation. 5 days ahead of schedule... ! YES!  Grin

BTW, anyone got the coupons or the 7.7% refund? How does it work?  Huh

I ordered a set of S3s from Batch 1 and about 3 days after the offer I decided to go with the 7.77% refund.  I wasn't until 7/28/2014 that I actually received that refund so I have no idea how that will relate to other batches.

Some thoughts on the maths of the 10% discount voucher:-

If a batch 1 order (pair of miners) was 1.50 BTc then the voucher will be worth 0.15 BTc

So a future order for Batch 4? will have a starting price of (pair of miners) 1.35 BTc

Deduct the market reduction Bitmain have been applying of at least(pair of miners) 0.05 BTc = 1.30 BTc maximum (copied from the Batch 3 price)

Then you arrive at 1.30 Btc less the voucher of 0.15 BTc

This puts a Batch4? (pair of miners) at a net cost of 1.15 BTc

By the time the backlog of orders are cleared, then another market reduction will be needed. (another 0.05 BTc)

By the 20th of this month we should expect to pay no more than 1.10 BTc for a pair of Batch4? miners.

Does anyone agree with my figures?
So I am not sure of this 10% discount voucher you are talking about but if you are referring to the expected coupon from purchasing a previous batch I am going to have to disagree with you a bit.  First off there has to date only been a 0.025 Btc drop in price between batches, therefore batch four will more than likely cost 1.425 for the pair of S3s.  Now as for the discount or coupon we, hopefully, will receive for purchasing batch 1 or 2 S3s,  I wouldn't bet on it being for more S3s.  When I purchased my S1s I got coupons for a S2, while I did hear of people getting coupons for S1s I never did.  With that being said if Bitmain still has stock on S2s I would not be surprised to see a coupon for those until stock runs out and then perhaps a coupon for an S2 upgrade or maybe the S4(if one ever gets released).  Also as the S3 is going to be Bitmain's bread and butter for a bit I wouldn't expect them discount them too much too rapidly.  That being said I would expect a batch 4 release price of .71-ish or .7 per unit.  Anyways those are my thoughts and if I missed something about the 10% voucher in a previous post please disregard my rambling.

Edit:
Okay so I just got the 10% voucher notice for my batch 1 order.  Yes there will be a 10% credit towards a future S3 order or a 7.77% discount on my existing order.  With that when batch 4(or if 3 ever reopens) we will probably be looking at a pair of discounted S3s for probably a number of 1.28 btc.

Hi Guys,

Does anyone have any information on the AntMiner S2 update as stated in this post "https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=515448.msg6693886#msg6693886"

Is this a hardware update?  How much will it cost?  Is it coming next month?

Thanks guys.

According to Bitmain's ads for the S2 kits back when they had them, they stated that both S2 and S2 kits would be upgradable having the ability to swap out the boards with new boards containing the new chips.  Based on the fact that Bitmain said the upgrade would bump the S2 up to around 2Th/s and considering the new S3 boards push about 240gh/s(so 10 boards would be around 2.4 th/s), I would put my money on the fact that the upgrade to the S2 will be a hardware upgrade.  Also considering the new chips run at around 0.5w per gh/s a stock upgrade probably won't require a PSU grade(although if you want to OC you will probably need to).  Anyways those are my thoughts.

i agree with 10 boards, but they will probably underclock the chip, hence 1.8-2th, not 2.4th

Yeah come to think about it they would probably have to underclock the chips.  If you go buy what Bitmain posted about their chip specs with a stock chip running at their low speed of 14.18 gh/s using 0.528w/gh and 16 chips per board(if the new boards are the same as the S3 boards just like the S1 was to the S2,mostly) that gives you 160 chips pulling just under 1200w(ps I'm not an electrical engineer so the I could be horribly wrong with my calcs).  With that the chips would need to be underclocked in order to run off the 1000w PSU.  As for price who knows I am hoping for cheap, but thinking probably around 1.5-2 btc.

2 days-ish without any activity, what's up?  Is the exchange down again?  Granted I know we can't even order batch 3 yet, but how about an update?

Seeing as we are very close to the 75% mark I wouldn't mind waiting a bit longer as I would rather have a 1 in 100 chance at 2 S3s as opposed to a 1 in 72 chance at 1 S3. However I do agree maybe a cap of one more week or so should be placed just in case.

Lol can't afford to buy S3s outright so let's hope for some good luck.

Best of luck to all that enter.
