1  Economy / Gambling / Re: Announcing! New [Texas Hold'em] Poker Site with Daily Free Rolls - Open Beta! on: July 29, 2011, 12:44:39 PM
The rake is ridiculously high and that is at 50% off??!! I played heads up with a guy who bought in for 100 chips or .10 btc and we played 50 hands when I finally beat him. Guess how much I won? I didn't. I lost about 30 chips of my own stack. So in just 50 hands which isn't much heads up we paid 130 chips in rake. And this is the half price special?

As stated on our website, our current rake is 2.5% rounded down, which only applies to hands that get to the flop.  Even if both you and your opponent bet extremely high on every hand it would be mathematically impossible for us to recieve that much in rake if you started with 100 chips each.

Furthermore, we have not recieved even half that much in rake TOTAL over the past several days.  If you would like to give us your username and the date of the game, we would be glad to look into it and will reimburse you for the rake if what you say is true.

Well I am telling you how it is. I had like 500 some to start he come in with 100 and we played 50 hands or so and yes some of the pots got big because he did double up a couple times. When I finally busted him my stack was 30 chips less than when he started. I know you have to charge some rake to keep the site running but if players notice this much disappearing they wont want to play there and I personally like the site and want to see it grow bigger.

Please provide us with a date and time so we can consult the logs, and make any necessary adjustments.  Our rake was much higher in the beginning, but we have since reduced it dramatically.

Thanks for playing; we appreciate our players' feedback.

We are now in open beta!  Come for the 1.2btc tourney today, and bring a friend Smiley

Our grand opening will be next Saturday, so stay tuned for our announcement about that.

Thanks to all of our initial beta testers!  On ring games, rake has been cut in half, to 2.5%.  We take suggestions from beta testers seriously, so please let us know what you think!

May your ocean be full of krill,

I haven't actually played yet, but just logging in I noticed a couple of things.

1. the certificate errors - both in IE 9 and Chrome 14.0.825.0.
2. In Chrome when you open the lobby it's like it's in a 'frame' and you can only see about 1/2 of it.  It works fine in IE, so I switched to that, but I thought I'd let you know.

Hey flyswatta,

Thanks for the feedback, we're working on making some improvements to our SSL arrangements so we should have that error fixed soon.  As for the Chrome display issue, sounds like a problem with flash; we'll look into it.

Join us for our tourney on Saturday or for a few ring games!

I don't mean to take away from you at all but I noticed that you can "log in" without a password. Your form submission seems to be really broken. Hopefully now that this is brought to your attention you can fix it.

Thanks for checking our site!  Nice catch, should be fixed now.  We'll throw you some extra chips if you come and play a hand or two.

bitcoin4cash is definitely not the fastest service out there, but 3 weeks isn't that far from my own experience.  I recommend waiting another week or two.

5 I believe, though the big kicker is 4 hours online.

Read a few posts from the top posters on the forums.  Gives an idea of the intellectual inertia of the site.

Is the plan to invest in specifically bitcoin businesses, or something else?

Is the idea to eventually have thousands or millions of small investors, or is the goal a few larger individual investors?

How many hoops are you and your investors going to jump through?  I imagine one requiring a lot of paperwork would be less popular amongst bitcoin users.

A bitcoin stock market and trading system seems like a great idea, and a necessary progression for the bitcoin economy.  Be interesting to see how the UI part develops.

It's not local, but there's biddingpond.com which lets you sell random stuff.  More like ebay than craigslist.  Want to make the next craigslist?
