1  Economy / Services / Re: Offering .1 to anybody that downloads a mobile app AND USES IT! (ios and android on: December 25, 2012, 12:43:57 AM
Man, considering how hung up most of you are about security and privacy issues, you're sure in a hurry to install some unknown .apk you don't know what it's doing. For a buck.  Huh

I have IOS. If Apple let him put his app in the App store and somehow he snuck something past them.. I won't even be mad. Lol.

I'm interested in the link.
3  Economy / Services / Re: !WANTED! Someone to do some easy(?) photoshop work on: December 21, 2012, 03:29:34 AM
Umm, I don't think it would really make a difference. I could do SWF for you if you want, I was just confident that PNG can support the transparency requirement easily. I suppose the SWF (Flash) format could be more adaptable for resizing but I don't imagine the website would suggest an improper format, so either would work similarly.

I would do a single set for 1btc (all the logos in proper PNG format, in a zip file uploaded to Mediafire).
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox AML/KYC Process Explained on: June 13, 2012, 01:37:47 PM
I'm with cbeast, I've been doing business with Mt Gox for a long time, and all they're doing is treating me like shit over this AML process.

I've provided everything they've asked for, and now they're asking me for a LOCAL GOVERNMENT ISSUED, NOTARIZED PROOF OF RESIDENCY.

I live at an apartment complex, and let's just say that the office staff are less than competent.

I can't get them more than I've already given (which is photocopies of Driver's License and a signed Proof of Residency from my apartment complex, as well as my last invoice) but yet they are still denying my application.

When I requested my money back so that I could close my account and just go do business elsewhere, they denied that also, and said "we would really appreciate it if you continued the process."

Whatever, i'm so annoyed by them.

In theory if people hear about it Sunday, by the time Dwolla clears they can buy on Thursday...
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: October 31, 2011, 10:49:08 PM
Is there a Mac version of the miner and client? Cheesy
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Issue with transaction - Mac client 0.4.0 on: October 18, 2011, 05:43:23 PM
It seems I may have posted prematurely.

I think my client simply sent the transaction when I opened Bitcoin the second time, as now my transaction is reporting confirmations and the client is current with the blockchain. That would explain why MtGox didn't show a balance yet either.

Mods feel free to delete this thread.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Issue with transaction - Mac client 0.4.0 on: October 18, 2011, 05:18:53 PM
I sent a transaction of about 10 BTC to MTGox during the huge sell-off yesterday, but I did not wait for any confirmations (as I was in a hurry) and closed my client. I figured it would take a little while to clear and would do so whether or not my client was open.

Now, I've opened my client and the blockchain is downloading, but my transaction of (10)BTC to MTGox still has no confirmations while my other transactions' confirmations just continue to grow.

Have I lost those BTC? Will my client realize the transaction is invalid and reclaim the coins? What to do!?

This is cool. Good luck.

I like the Matrix reference on the most recent draft (the "rabbit hole").

I'll probably buy one when they become available. Smiley

So here's the testnet version running on my PC until I get a VPS from psy:
[removed]

Let me know if it works for you.

My first attempt was just to see if it worked, and I put a bogus email. So I didn't receive a confirmation link. Lol.

my second attempt didn't work either. I may have screwed up the password when registering (that damn captcha gave me trouble. Hard to read.) so i'm probably locked out of that particular account now.

I'm in class but i'll probably try a third account later.

Other than my login troubles I like the setup and everything. I would be happy to support this.

testnet or Bitcoin?

My vote's testnet. (for now)

Maria,

My question is:

All you've done is simply set up a bot to buy/sell at different margins and intervals, is that correct?

And you can expect to make 30% like you have here so far?

This really seems a little too good to be true. Which might be why you're getting so many trolls.

Yes, and I understand the trolls POV as well. My target here is the educated trader who understands the mechanics of forex trading, but has not figured out a way to make money consistently which is 95% of the people. The profits made are paid via Liberty Reserve and those can be converted easily into BTC.

Thank you!

What commodities / metals / stocks/ does your program trade?

I have looked into that forex website you suggested using, and it seems there are many options. Are some more profitable than others? (obviously the answer is yes) Which ones should we use?

Last, what's the minimum suggested investment into something like this?

@all:

Would you prefer the testing system to be in testnet or "real" Bitcoin? I'd love to get some responses.

Umm I would prefer a "proof-of-concept" before my actual bitcoins are trusted to the system.

Even if you just somehow allow unlimited deposits to bounties to prove that the system works, I feel that would be beneficial. I really want this idea to be able to take off.

We need some sort of centralized "trust" system that can be used to gain and maintain credibility.

It's too bad that Bitcoin's main perk, the decentralization of currency, is one of the things that's hurting our community the most.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your prediction: Where will 09/09/11's low be? on: September 09, 2011, 03:34:15 PM
I'm really hoping it stabilizes around $3 or $4. I think that would be an ideal price.

Unfortunately, my skills lie elsewhere. Otherwise I'd be glad to help.

Good luck though, my friend. I'll donate to your fund later tonight.
20  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New Bitcoin bounty system on: September 08, 2011, 07:53:35 PM
I think this is a really cool idea.

I have tried to contribute to people's "bounties" in the past, but I suspect they may have simply been trolls or scams. One regulated place to encourage new programmers would be a godsend.
