I have shut down the one remaining seed node.

What are the 2 things that needs to happen to save this coin ?

I don't know what you mean by 2 things.  I alerted Leigh to your post on Twitter but I didn't get a response.  His bitcointalk account looks to have been hacked some time ago, but his Twitter looks fine.  I won't post it here in case he doesn't want me to.

To get development on Britcoin again, you would probably need to get Will, Leigh, and Darryl to either burn their coins, provably give away their coins, or work on the coin.  I would try contacting Will (via Cryptomate?) if you have a plan for development.

Perhaps Vanity Wallets would help with a "Britcoin Classic" if anyone wants to do that.  I'll stay out of Britcoin's way from now on.

I have burned the BRIT I received in the big minting, plus an extra 10%.

750,000 + 75,000 = 825,000 BRIT burned

Sent to the burn address BFCryptoLifeDotNetBurnAddrXXXKgT3c found at https://dev.cryptolife.net/trusted-burn-addresses/

TxIDs:

P.S.

There were 2 Britcoin seed nodes that the client will attempt to connect to on startup, as a starting point for connecting to the Britcoin network.  I was operating both of these but one went down about 4 months ago as I forgot to pay the bill.  I'll shut the remaining one off in a month as I want to save money and limit my association with Britcoin.  If someone wants to set up these nodes anew, let me know and we can sort something out if I think you're not a mischief maker.

Hi,
Can you tell me how to sync my Britcoin 3.0 wallet.
It seems to be working in reverse.

Thanks

You need to use a newer wallet, for a start.

----------

Since I'm not involved with BRIT anymore, I'd like to destroy the BRIT I received from the big mint.  I'm moving house soon, but after I'm settled in, I'll send it to a burn address.

Can anyone calculate a good burn address for me?  (I'll have to check it of course.)  If not I will figure out a way to calculate one myself after I've moved.

Cheers,
Mo

Hi Mo

Thanks for coming back with such an open and upfront response. I have this weekend been contacted by other ex employees of Fields Group companies. The information given shows why so many of the staff were on well below minimum wage and not paying taxes, avoiding taxes to by taking cash or holidays or getting inflated wage slips to deceive lenders.

Was Peter also employed by Fields ?

What is your opinion of the amounts of money pumped through to prevent delisting ?
Are you aware of the threats of violence Daryl has made to his ex staff ? Are you aware of the theeats of violence William Thomas has made to me ?

I nearly lost my life because of Daryls scams and the damge Fields Data Recovery / Rapid Data / Dataphoenix / Comparedatarecovery did.

My lab, my engineers and my companies bear the cost of helping victims of Fields and Fields Group members like Datarecoveryspecialists.

We are not undercut in a competitive way, the fake research and technical reports as well as other financial fraud adds up to a very serious fraud situation. Daryl tried to “give” me some compensation in return for a website.

All staff at the Fields Group have it explaind away what they are involved in.

Hi,

I'm not aware of a Peter in relation to Britcoin or Fields Group.

C-Cex pumps: These don't need a lot of money behind them.  Just 1 BTC on C-Cex right now could buy the book up to 4885 sats.  As for the volume, that could be explained by people noticing the % swings and getting in... Or it could be explained by coin holders trading amongst themselves to generate volume.  If it's the latter, I don't consider it immoral, though I do consider it strange that people would invest any time or money to stay on C-Cex when BRIT's on another good exchange.  I never was able to get people interested in using CoinExchange for BRIT though.

I am not aware of threats of violence from Daryl or Will except from reading what you have written.

Leigh Will Mo

Did you do your due dilligence when checking the claim of £50million personal fortune ?

Are you aware of how many have been defrauded by Daryl and his team ?

I was not aware of the various allegations on your blog.  I think I only saw your blog towards the end of my time with Britcoin.  I considered myself to be the tech guy, and trusted Will and Leigh to inform me of other relevant stuff.  You can see no-one brought your blog or allegations about Fields Data Recovery up in the thread at the time either.

(I don't really feel like looking at it now, but: there are allegations, and there are things he or his company has been punished for, I guess.  If there are true allegations that he hasn't been punished for, I wouldn't know that those allegations are true.  I mean, there is someone shouting "SCAM!" for every crypto and every exchange, but if you listened to all of those shouts you'd invest in nothing.)

I did not check Daryl's fortune.  Did I claim he had 50 million pounds?  I only thought he was a multi-millionaire.  Anyway, of course we didn't check his bank balance or all his investments.  We did go to his large house and meet him with his advisors.

The 12K GBP went to me and Will as salary payments.  Daryl gave us a choice of how to receive it, and we elected to become employees of one of his companies for that 6 months as that would be the easiest way to do things.  So we each got 1K GBP a month.  There was some more money too, for expenses, which I think was supposed to be up to another 3K GBP, but after the initial purchasing of servers and such, it started getting hard to get them to respond to requests for money.  I ended up paying a lot of my own money as I mentioned in a previous post.

The crypto/altcoin market was in the doldrums when we initially met Daryl and his advisors, so any deal to revive it seemed good -- I would not have been able to afford to work without payment -- but given how everything crypto boomed later on, it now seems we shouldn't have bothered.  Unfortunately it seemed that we talked Daryl into the whole thing too and he's not tremendously interested otherwise, so in that respect it wasn't a good idea to give him so much of the coin either.  So, it was a gamble that didn't work out.  I hoped that in time he would do whatever was best for the coin, even if it meant giving away his own holdings or whatever, but I guess I was just believing or hoping for whatever I wanted to be true.  At the time, it seemed worth the gamble.

Re: The 10 million BRIT that got minted: I, Leigh and Will got an amount to take us each up to a million each.  Will got the most as he had the least (apparently he sold his to pay for upkeep of the servers during Brit's first run).  Leigh got the least as he had the most, and I got a medium amount.  There was some BRIT that was used to pay for expenses, I'm not sure how much.  Darryl and his people got most of it, then.  I don't know in what proportions.

I consider the BRIT I got to be a kind of venture share rather than a salary payment.  I haven't spent it and don't intend to, so go ahead and dump ahead of me.

If you don't like that the 10 million were minted, as I now don't, this is a permissionless technology and there are things you can do about that.  It's all open-source software too.  You yourself can pick it up and continue developing it, or continue it from a past point before you consider that it went bad.  Daryl and his people do not own Britcoin itself, nor the Britcoin copyrights.

(You can also cause a significant percentage 'pump' on C-Cex yourself, by buying the minimum amount at the lowest available price on the order book -- As Britcoin lacks a market maker, there is a large spread.)

Fellow Britians,

The six months for which the investor gave funding have passed, and as we didn't have things such as SPV wallets with HD addresses by the deadline, it isn't clear if he'll continue funding this Britcoin revival project.

In any case, I've lost motivation to continue so I think now is a good time for me to leave.  I hope that I am replaced as soon as possible.  They say it's never a good time to leave, but I feel I am enabling the investor to keep underfunding and undersupporting this project by carrying on working and paying for things myself, so perhaps this can spur change.  Please consider the Coinomi integration my parting gift, which paves the way for future Britcoin SPV wallets based off the ElectrumX technology, bypassing the issues I had getting Electrum servers to work with Britcoin.

I'll just keep the seed nodes running, and I ask the community to keep the chain going by staking using the 3.3.0.2 and 3.3.0.3 wallets.

Brit is a technical marvel with it's ecological proof of stake, 0.5% interest etc...

5% annual interest on staked coins for now, and then 0.5% interest once the 30 million supply cap is reached.

Welcome aboard!

Exchanges

It is expected that we will be added to the UK fiat->crypto gateway Cryptomate next week.  Please support the buy walls on C-Cex and CoinExchange to help give buyers more predictable and reasonable prices!

Of course it's the sell walls that need supporting, to give Britcoin buyers a good price!

Yes please roadmap!!

Neurocis is continuing to work on his Copay (web and mobile multisig wallet) port and making some general improvements to the desktop wallet.

I myself am unfortunately too distracted by Britcoin right now so won't be doing any PiggyCoin work for the next month or two.

The PiggyTeam is looking a little thin these days -- Everyone but me and neurocis have left!  Do contact us if you can do something for PiggyCoin!  '(oo)'

I am not sure of the status of the Coinomi addition.  Finding out!

Next stop Live coin.

I thought livecoin.net because they have different fiat deposit options - most importantly EUR, which would allow people to send SEPA deposits.

But last night I checked out what it takes to deposit EUR via SEPA and they really make it ridiculously difficult, they ask you for links to forum profiles and screen shots of trades on other exchanges etc. (https://ctrlv.cz/shots/2017/03/03/El5X.png)

So this is not really a viable option for people new to Britcoin and crypto in general, the reason I want an exchange that allows fiat deposits (GBP or EUR) is because when I tell people they need to buy Bitcoin to buy Britcoin it confuses them. Cheesy

I've been reaching out to different exchanges all week, we'll see what comes of it.  Do you have any in mind? Smiley

Dear Britcoin Team

Over the last few years I have tried to contribute to the world of cryptocurrency with ideas and tried to help others, in doing so I have hurt the feelings of good people. Many of the posts were made in haste and without forethought not only causing suffering for good people here, but also people who may have read, or been insulted by them.

I am genuinely very sorry for any pain or suffering I have caused, I just wanted to help, I am sorry.

Water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned :8]  I don't think it was cool for Will or Leigh to make their rude appearance in your thread either!

I have a problem with nav electrum 3.6 for windows.I downloaded from your site and i use windows 10 enterprise.
I create a default wallet as you explain above but i cant never send nav to others addresses i can only receive nav.I tried to unstall and install twice times but nothing.
After lots minutes of long pause for signing transaction always failed the sending procedure with this error(watch image)
Is there a solution of this problem?
I tried also to pass my password from nav electrum to nav for android application but it s impossible to do because password long is different from accepting android application.
Thanks for answer

https://github.com/navcoindev/Electrum-NavCoin/blob/master/README.rst

Quote
currently Electrum NavCoin is unable to spend staked coins.

So according to that, sending mightn't work if you imported some coins from the usual Nav wallet.

◢◤ Your Digital Network - Downloads
Source: https://github.com/LIMXTEC/BitSend

I come here looking for the latest version, wasn't sure whether my v1.1.0.3 was the latest or not.  See "Downloads", click the Github link, scroll down until I see compiled binaries and am taken to SourceForge where I can get v1.0.0.4.

(I couldn't see the images in the ANN OP to download the Win 32 etc. wallets as I use BitcoinTalk with a dark background.)

Anyway, just letting you know :8]  This is an OK version, right?:  v1.2.6.0-g-beta (32-bit)

So... 4 days or so till the investor coins are minted. What then folks?
When the investor has his coins, first thing i'm going to ask for is 3BTC to get us back on bittrex,
Any idea on when this will happen?
This Saturday I think, need to ask mogreen to run the numbers for a better estimate. Cheesy

~54 hours to go.  So could be Sunday morning.

No problem with the network. You have to remember that both litecoin and dogecoin have migrated to HDF syncing (ported from Bitcoin), as well as their network block generation times being much longer than MINT's.

HDF syncing = HeaDers First syncing?

I got Livecoin (http://livecoin.net/) to add Piggycoin to their voting system. It will be listed in a few weeks, and then anyone registered on Livecoin can vote for it. I'll try to post a reminder when it is up.

It's up: https://www.livecoin.net/voting/index?lang=en

LiveCoin the good exchange, it is possible to try to get there.

LiveCoin seems good, as does RawX.io.  Anyone got any thoughts on either of these?

Hi mate,

Looks like it is caused by the latest wallet using DB4, some of the much older wallets were built using DB5.  Best way to get around this is to run an old wallet and export the private keys then import into the newest wallet.

Hope this helps. Smiley

I've done the equivalent of deleting everything other than wallet.dat and it's now resynching. I placed the boostrap/peers files as supplied above in this thread, not sure if that's made it any quicker, but it seems to be going from the start. Am in no rush anyway, it'll get there hopefully! Thanks.

Cool, sorry for the trouble.

Is anyone aware of any real reasons not to just officially compile with Berekely DB 5 in future, beyond the minor problem that it would make it impossible to go back to a previous wallet?  I mean it seems fine, and Berekely DB 4 seems to be disappearing from official sources.

We might just follow AuroraCoin's lead and compile with DB 5 in the next release.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Piggycoin [PIGGY] | 3% interest | Web PiggyBank | Android PiggyBank on: September 09, 2016, 12:34:23 AM
Well I think getting listed on Bittrex or Yobit would also help Piggycoin out quite a bit because they seem to have good action on lower valued coins like PIGGY and things

PIGGY was listed on Bittrex in the past and delisted -- Unfortunately it costs a lot to get back on there.

Yobit were having some problems with updating wallets and adding the coins that coin teams have paid to add, a few months ago.  I haven't kept track of them since.  Let's give them time to sort themselves out.

Why not give your custom to Cryptopia?  :8]
