1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 289 blocks solved! on: June 13, 2024, 07:47:04 PM
-SNIP-

I think the drops can also be mining on 4334 if the miners don't find a share over 1m for some time the hashrate drops.
Miners didn't disconnect they just didn't submit anything in that period that was above 1m Diff.

I also wondered about the runs and realised this can be something to do with 4334 rather than miners not being connected or leaving.

I testing with 500gh/s on 4334  you will see your hashrate shows dropping by the pool when the machines are not submitting shares 1m diff or higher.

So looks a bit like disconnection.  But I think in the background the machines are still working it's just artifact of high diff share attempts.

You maybe right, but I done a 1PH solo run a couple of weeks ago now and the results were a flat 1PH almost throughout, there were only one or two points where it noticably dropped out. That was pointed at 4334. Nothing as drastic as over a 50% fall-out like on the blockparty run.

I was just concerned that Willi's team might have been loosing out without knowing about it.

But it seems he has that covered by running for longer, so no worries.

I think it’s generally better to consolidate all the available mining power into a single, strong push to maximize the chances of solving a block. smaller shares are not frequently enough or rejected.

Hi VK

I was wondering if you might be able to add a "best share this block" report?

While we can track the overall best share since the last block was found, we cant see what the best was achieved for a given block.

To elaborate, I was thinking you might be able to graph a block number on the X axis and the best share for that block on the Y? for the last 100 blocks or something like that?

I know its largely another meaningless statistic but I find it interesting never the less.

Thanks

G.

That sounds like a nice feature, but there are some challenges with implementing it. The pool best share value is incremented until a better share replaces it, so the best share for each block would mostly repeat. This means there wouldn't be much variation in the data to visualize.

I could query the entire set of monitored users for their best shares, but this might not be relevant for what you're looking for.

Thanks for the suggestion!

4  Bitcoin / Pools / VK Pool Party - vkbit.com (1% pool fee) on: May 22, 2024, 08:49:04 AM
Inspired by willi9974 - "Solo Pool Miner Race on ckpool"

We have created our own pool party: https://vkbit.com/party

Our Telegram group : https://t.me/vkbit

VKBIT POOL PARTY

stratum+tcp://pool.vkbit.com:3333 -u bc1qe7r70mv34xhjpwyanvpa43an95rha3287yrv77.username -p x

In the event of a block discovery, we outline the following reward distribution plan:

The user who discovers the block will receive an additional 10% reward.
Pool 1% Winner 10% - The remaining 89% will be divided among the eligible (devices) winner devices included.

Payment Requirements:

Each miner must have 200 GH/s over the past 7 days ( activity can be verified here: https://vkbit.com/party ).

Miners must include their Telegram username (not their name)
Telegram group : https://t.me/vkbit

A minimum hashrate of 200 GH/s over the past 7 days (Hashrate 7d) is required to be eligible for payment.
Miners who discover a block but have a hashrate of less than 200 GH/s over the past 7 days (Hashrate 7d) will still receive the 10% bonus.

Party stats: https://vkbit.com/party or https://vkbit.com/users/bc1qe7r70mv34xhjpwyanvpa43an95rha3287yrv77
Configure your miner to our pool using the BTC address: bc1qe7r70mv34xhjpwyanvpa43an95rha3287yrv77 .

Telegram group : https://t.me/vkbit
Add your Telegram username and miner number (if you have other devices) following this format:

User "diehard" on our Telegram group with 2 miners:

Configure the first miner with: bc1qe7r70mv34xhjpwyanvpa43an95rha3287yrv77.diehard_1
Configure the second miner with: bc1qe7r70mv34xhjpwyanvpa43an95rha3287yrv77.diehard_2
And so on...

If we find a block, than i will ask winner and the other members for a actual payout address.

You can ping either IPv4 pool.vkbit.com or the IPv6 address pool6.vkbit.com to determine which pool works best for you.

If you have any questions you can join our group, or simply reply in here.
Thank you.

VKBIT,
Would you be able to add "Diff" (Luck) to the individual miner screen/page?
Even though the main pool may be at 156%, individually we are all at something higher or lower because no two miners are working the same block- (each miner is working a custom block because it has their own unique BTC payout address in it).
Just a Thought... you have "Diff" (Pool Luck) on the main page.
Thanks -- great pages BTW

Please be aware that on ckpool solo you cannot calculate luck.
As I've pointed out a few times (e.g. here:)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5492140.msg64034423#msg64034423

It is not (as I've pointed out before) diff/netdiff, it's the sum of diff/netdiff per diffchange.
Using diff/netdiff in general gives a better luck result than it actually is - i.e. it fakes making mining look luckier.

They are already aware, you cannot predict or calculate, you make your own luck in life, in anything, otherwise we will be all millionaires.
Is just for fun as all blocks pops out on ckpool Wink Kano, don't bother.
6  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoin Testnet Pool - the only testnet pool out there / test your miner on: May 20, 2024, 10:39:31 AM
Please when you test your code, ensure it is, at least, able to find greater than 32bit difficulty shares.
Many people who make miners don't bother to do this (e.g. Apollo) and leave that up to the people who pay them for their miners to do it for them.
(which is culpable negligence in my opinion)

Cgminer has code I added to verify it can find shares at any difficulty, so the software at least can be verified.
While of course cgminer has already found the majority of blocks on the bitcoin network, it is good to be able to test a 'new' compile of the code on any hardware and ensure the difficulty calculations do not overflow/fail.

Uhm, give it a try. It’s now on testnet4.

Hi VK

I have a feature request on the league tables and wonder if you might consider adding it onto CK pool

With a larger number of high hash rate users joining the system, the hash and diff league tables are filled with only those in the many TH/s & PH/s range.

I wonder if it is possible for you to add a range setting to these tables, so for example

0-1Th/s, 1-20Th/s, 20-100Th/s and >100Th/s

Similarly with the top difficulty stats

0-10B, 10B-100B, >100B

Anyway, just an idea.

Thanks

G.

Sorry for delay,
That can be done but i will keep the essential. Is already top job if you ask me about the traffic. Wink).

No problem VK,

Thanks for considering it.

The reason I asked is it's nice to compare to similar performance miners, with so many in the mid PH range its not possible to see whatelse is going on.

Thanks

G.

As you requested, they were added.

Don't take this personally, however, just a warning for those who plan on searching for their own address, if you want to stay anonymous use a VPN or anything to hide your IP, the website operator can link your BTC address to your IP address.

Anyway, that's a very nice-looking GUI, I used it, and I like it, thanks for making it.

While it is worth pointing this out to people who don't realise it,
it is somewhat pointless when you mine to that pool anyway.

When mining to ckpool, you transmit your bitcoin address, clear text, across the internet, from your miner's IP to that pool, over 25000 times a day.
The pool also sends your bitcoin address to you about 3000 times a day.
The pool owner likes to say it's "pseudo-anonymous" but clearly that's crap Cheesy

Kano, as I mentioned before, please refrain from engaging in my threads. I am not interested in any debate or contradiction. Just as I wouldn't come to your space or to your house to tell you how the furniture is arranged.
I ask that you keep your opinions to yourself.

P.S. I don't know why you have so much rage, maybe too much red meat (just saying).

In regard to the new monitoring service, there is a downside, so to speak. This feature helps reduce unnecessary requests, as data isn't fetched from the API if your last share is older than 24 hours. Consequently, all stats from the monitoring service (only) at solostats.ckpool.org are removed, and you will need to subscribe again when you need to monitor your stats.
13  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 284 blocks solved! on: May 13, 2024, 08:07:40 AM
No, it was 0.5EH. Their hashrate fluctuates but averages about 0.5EH.

That is total right ? because i see the worker who caught the block, maybe i am wrong.
Workers don't mean much, even at 60PH it's a cluster of  smaller mining hardware mining through a proxy, but their overall hashrate is all that matters. 0.5EH total  is a massive mining entity.

Yep, it's a proxy, you are right!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share a helpful resource related to ckpool stats. You can check the UI here : https://cpool.org . Hope you find it useful!

I'm enjoying this UI extension to CKPool.

I've noticed a few interesting anomalies in the total pool data, particularly apparent large dropouts in hash rate.

At 6:12am to 6:32am dropping from around 650PH/s down to 1PH/s and again at various times with a big drop-out between 9:22am and 10:32am

I wonder whats causing that?

Thanks

G.

Yep, fixed the issue (plotting of values on the chart was incorrect).
