2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | New version 1.1.2 on: September 18, 2014, 12:21:14 AM
another simple question, hope someone can resolve.

1. For plots, does it have to be sequential, as long as I don't overlap the nonce, I should be ok right?
2. I have one computer to mine, and another to generate the plots files, once new plots files are created, can I just copy them to the mining plot directory, would I need to restart the miner every time new plot files are copied?

thanks

1: Correct, they do not need to be sequential
2: Correct, no need to restart the miner. It will read all files in the plot directory.

To go back to mining solo, do I set the reward recipient to myself?

Yes

just tested this and confirming same results.
what's the solution?

how i can check my plots at corrupt?

I noticed the plots generated by GPU plotter with 14.6 drivers produced extremely huge deadlines (13-14 digits) when mining. It's very hard to mine anything with such deadlines.

"Warning: to the AMD owners, the 14.4 catalyst driver cause a major bug. The generated files are corrupted. I will investigate on this problem. In the meantime, I recommend you to switch back your driver to the 13.12 version"

What's the best pool to mine at right now? I've noticed some have had some payout problems. Any input? Please share your experience.  Huh

2nd node of uray's pool
official dev pool (deadline 75k).

HI every one
i have two HDD dirve each 4TB in one pc and create two plot for per drive i want link my plots folder between two drive example this ( G:\pocminer_pool_v1\plots and e:\pocminer_pool_v1\plots) with symbolic in windows command prompt  but i cant i worked with this command in the command prompt
mklink /j "G:\pocminer_pool_v1\plots\2427510820826344764_0_5000_1000" "E:\pocminer_pool_v1\plots"
this is work for me plot folder and make this but dont move the plot file only create a folder with the plot name.

I want to continue to be together.
Somebody help me for this problem i want mine with my two hdd drive But if it can not be.
THanx Sad

go into your plot folder you want the file to appear (cmd elevated mode)
mklink filename source

example:

cmd
c:\pocminer_v1\plots
mklink youraddress_start_numberofnonces_mem e:\pocminer_v1\plots\youraddress_start_numberofnonces_mem

this will link the plot file in E: to C:.

hi, if i join the pool v2, did i need to open the wallet, i just notice that i close the wallet, the miner still can work, didn't say any can't get info from wallet..

Joining the v2 pool there is no need to keep the wallet running.

About how long does it take to generate plots?

Depends on how many plots (or how big ) you want them (how mouch free space you would like to use).

does it cause problem to run the same wallet to mine on different computers, i ran out of sata ports and waiting for buncha PCI sata blocks to come in.

also USB 2.0... once its plotted could i switch them to usb ports i know its a bottle neck for speed but it doesnt read that much data when it mines right?

No problem using multiple wallets but you can just use one wallet and point the other miners to that IP. See the conf file of the wallet or check the forum.

USB2.0 is fine but USB3.0 is highly recommended. For plotting no issue but for mining it takes longer to "search a block".
For every round it needs to parse +/- 256 MB of data. Using USB3.0 this is way better.

well, I just tried to use http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io/ but it always gives me an error:

Code:
{"errorCode":5,"errorDescription":"Unknown account"}

I tried solomining for the last day with 50GB but I think I found nothing so far ^^

I can't even tell if my wallet (-) is working Tongue

anyone? I used 10745596296835956940 as recipient as written here: http://burst-pool.cryptoport.io/howto.html
Unknown account is not a problem with recipient, it's that the given passphrase does not correspond with an account that has ever held funds. If you should have some burst, re-check your passphrase, if you don't, we can donate you a few coins so you can pay the fee.

errr...well I indeed never had any coins (I started yesterday with BURST). I did not know that I need coins to start minig at the pool. I'm not here to beg for coins, but if it helps to be able to try to pool, I'd gladly take a donation *g*

BURST-EVXX-L5NF-NSY5-4P7F3 (I somehow put a wrong address in my first post)

Sent 10. Good Luck!

Hey everyone

I've been out of the loop for a while here. Can you guys fill me in on what's been happening recently with regards to development? From what I gather over the last few posts, community devs have step forward to help with develpment, am I correct?

Check out the FB page of BURST.

I just started generating plots that are greater than the number I put for the last nonce range number. ie 4000000 to 4082000.....and my generate plot script shows me generating 4088000.  What is happening???

mine did that too till it had 8mb left and it just kinda froze!

It is not startnrofplots endnrofplots:

4000000 to 4082000

It is startnrofplots nrofplotstogenerate.
So 1 5 means start at nr 1 and generate 5 instead of start from 1 untill 5.

Hello,

To generate plots, how to determine the plot value. I just gave the value as 824000 for 200 GB. Will this be enough. I also have a 1.5 Tb space, how much plot to allocate? pls help !!

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -Xmx1200m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate 1007041384185016045 0 824000 500 5

Plot size is calculated as (tb*1024*1024*1024)/256 or (gb*1024*1024)/256.

does any one have a estimate of # of plots needed to be able to use the v2 POOL without getting the "no valid shares to submit to pool error"?
Regardless of the size of your plots, it's random, your chances are just get better with larger plots, so you will likely get something eventually even on small plots. You'll still see some no valid shares messages with 2TB plots. I'd recommend aiming for a minimum of 200GB to see some results, although you'll see a lot no valid shares messages, you'll get a few here and there.

Can the same address be used for plot and solo-mining ?

Anyone?
Dev?

Not at the same time. If that was allowed, what would keep you from submitting the bad deadlines to the pool and generating with the good deadlines yourself?

Thx. I have plots spanned over multiple disks so was thinking about mining on both methods.
