2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your gambling life could affect your relatives lifes. on: May 22, 2024, 07:02:16 PM
I have come across Local gamblers who are addicted to gambling and had ruined their selves by themselves til they ran bankrupt yet they borrows money to gamble at all means even While being indebted.
Theses sets of gamblers doesn't have remorse nor conscience about their gambling lifestyles instead their friends and relatives are the ones who bears the shameful consequences the addicted gambler brought to their circle of relationships.
At the virtue of getting the unbearable situations to an end, the relatives broadcasts the chronic addicted gambler at all costs of gambling boards never to give him privileges to gamble in any of the Gambling arenas anymore else they (the relatives) would sue the gambling boards owner.
This is just how recklessness could mess your life of you can't take control to gamble responsibly.

Take note and be aware that your way of gambling could affect your relationships and the circle of your relatives.

100%, had a lot of friends who destroyed their lives because of gambling addiction. Unfortunately, no matter how much help they tried to get, they still ended up in the same life.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: Buying Vs Renting a Home- Which is the right move? on: May 22, 2024, 06:41:52 PM
This topic has come up quite a few times over the years on this board.  A lot of the discussion around it has mostly been others opinions.  I found this neat little graph online (instagram) from the New York Times that compares the two.  Now keep in mind one's location will certainly have an effect on which one might make more sense, even in what part of you own country you're in.

I decided for myself that I would most of all like to have my own private house. Yes, it's expensive, but it's cool. It's your own plot, with a terrace, where you feel most comfortable. No one comes and dictates how you live. It's a thrill.
4  Economy / Economics / Re: This Will make you rich on: May 22, 2024, 06:28:18 PM
First ask yourself who you want to be ?
Rich by wealth 90% 60%-80% ? Or 20% ?
What about the 1% ?
The wealth is info and knowledge what you know and others don't know.
You want to be that 1% ?
So you have to go against the 99% of the world so you get allmost like 99% of traders investors gamblers money.
If you want that go take your time and think what the 1% might be doing now ?
But there is same % of top winners and top losers both are the 1% so while doing some move what nobody don't know about you might lose all or win big.
Sure you can make good profit with btc or meme coins but that's not what the 1% will do now because too many people expecting and waiting the same thing.
Take now your time go learn the market think hard because If you could hit right you could make a lot profit.
Im busy to figure out what could be that 1% move the biggest jackpot.

I would say that in order to become the 1%, you have to sacrifice a lot of things that, unfortunately, the average person is not ready to give up. But first, you just have to do what you do best.

stay focused
5  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: May 17, 2024, 08:16:50 AM
I have observed that the rich, I mean those who are financially comfortable, win more in gambling than the poor. By poor, I mean those who do not have enough to meet all their needs. I don't know the reason for this. Could it be that the rich understand financial management more? Or could it be that the rich are less desperate to win which make them make better gambling decision? I really want to know the reason for this pattern I have observed.

I believe there is a single pattern here. More affluent people have more money that they can fill, for example, a slot that will give a win sooner. If you take all gambling in general, the rich win more often just because they play more and for bigger amounts. I am 100% sure that not a single rich person who gambles a lot has ever come out in the black. These are big losses, but they won't hit a rich person. The rich man is all about the dopamine release when he wins, while the poor man wants money and thinks that this win will change his life for the better.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with people's money on: May 17, 2024, 07:48:32 AM
I have read many news that someone will mismanage people's money. I read one about a university student some years ago that gambled with the money contributed by his course mates. The main reason that is causing the money mismanagement is either trading or gambling, but I read more about gambling online. Some can be because of other reasons.

There is another one that I read today that people thought he ran away with people's money but he later confessed that he lost it to gambling. It is about a solana-based cypher developer, he confesses that he lost $300K of user funds to gambling.

The core developer of the Solana-based cross-margin decentralized exchange (DEX) admitted his wrongdoing in a public statement shared in a May 14 X post:

“To address the elephant in the room, the allegations are true, I took the funds and gambled them away. I didn’t run away with it, nor did anyone else.”

His statement on X:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/10ta9quGGrmTNE1Pi7MlgLgSx9zxEqQdkbBfis1pmHrM/mobilebasic

I have also heard many stories about people who are so addicted to the game that they would take all the equipment out of the house to make a deposit and play again. I even knew someone who hit the jackpot and could pay off all his debts, but even this time he just treated all his friends, bought a lot of equipment, I mean phones and laptops. And it might not have ended so badly if he hadn't gone back to gambling and then handed over all that equipment and deposited it.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you start investing in bitcoin because of some celebrity ? on: May 15, 2024, 07:40:58 AM
I see that current youth is inspired by celebrities and influencers in big way. Did you also start investing in bitcoin because of some celebrity ? Or you know people who belong to that category ? Is it a wise decision to do so or we should do our own research for better results ?

Honestly, I once heard the phrase 'don't find idols for yourself' and after that I never made any decisions based on the actions of any celebrities or stars. There are so many examples of stars who advertise outright trash or invest in the air. Perhaps the worst thing you can do is to believe some star on the screen and invest blindly, without a clear analysis of the product.(IMHO)
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a scam on: May 15, 2024, 07:26:42 AM
Is Bitcoin a scam

It's  so funny  that at this stage and century , some people still believe that Bitcoin  is a scam after it has proven itself  over and over  which has led to it's massive adoption.

If anyone still thinks Bitcoin  is a scam and depending only on fiat currencies then he or she is a slave to fiat system and believe  it or not Fiat is brain rot.
There are so many things these peoples  must understand  to know why they are really  a slave to the fiat system.

Decentralized  nature
This is the major difference between  fiat and the bitcoin,  there's  no influence or control from authority  like government , no manipulation in transactions  or values everything done in bitcoin is transparency  as full  nodes could be run by anyone, anywhere anytime without hidderance  and this a way for showing every transaction on blockchain making double-spend bitcoins impossible.

In fiat everyone is subjected to the power of governmentand its agencies,  the supply ,circulation are always influenced by their Monetary  policies.

Supply
Bitcoin  has a specific fixed supply of 21M coin which will ensure protection against  every  from of devaluation , beside there's  a smaller  unit that can be used in btc(sats) incase of any form of scarcity and scarcity brings  about increase in price , bitcoin price is also determined by the demand and supply in the market.

On the other hand, fiat currencies can be printed at will by the government  and the supply will still be determined  by that single entity  which is still the government.

I still have friends who think that crypto is a big pyramid scheme.  To be honest, at the beginning I tried to convince them otherwise, but I've given up trying now. No matter how many times you give them the example of the fiat currency, which is simply printed every day and has not been backed by gold reserves for a very long time, many people still feel more comfortable when they believe that this piece of paper is much more reliable than a normal digital currency. It's 2024, and some people feel like they were born yesterday.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to earn money (cryptocurrency) in 2024? on: May 15, 2024, 07:20:12 AM
I have been thinking about making money in cryptocurrency, but I'm hesitant to try because I don't want to get scammed i.e. didn't get any rewards for the effort I spent. I'm really curious with the current hype in 2024 and how much you've make from it? I know that scam is inevitable in altcoins, so I might be looking to earn with less risk.

What I know the current hypes in 2024 are:
1. Testnet airdrop
2. Meme coins

What about NFT or ordinals? but I think it's really risky because it's non fungible and you can't make sure people will buy your token.
What about P2E games? I haven't hear it anymore.

Probably I missed other hypes or if you know the another way of making money, feel free to comment. Wink

At the moment, in my opinion, drophunting is one of the least expensive ways to make money in crypto. Yes, unfortunately, you don't know how much, when, and whether you will get a drop. But on many projects, the costs can be as low as $40, but there is a good chance that you can make $400-500 from this $40 in n amount of time. It's not much, but you put in a minimum of effort. Also, the net test is more costly, but the drop is much bigger and a higher percentage of it is guaranteed.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Management on: May 13, 2024, 07:37:55 PM
I often run out of funds due to gambling that is too blind in terms of placing $$ on every bet I make and ends up losing. I do multi-bets and single-bets, every time I win, sometimes I forget myself and use all my $$ on the next bet. This sometimes gives me big wins, but if I'm unlucky I can lose all my funds and this has happened many times.

I started to realize and change my habits. Now I use $$ from the profits from the previous bet to place the next bet and save my initial capital.

What do you think, is this good and can help me overcome losses that will occur so that $$ remains safe and can be used in future betting? Are there other unique ways that you can use to grow your money in gambling? feel free to comment. Thanks
I think it's more greed than strategy. When I get frustrated, I also start to lose even the money I win, which I could withdraw and leave something for betting. It's better to start betting with funds that are not difficult to lose, as I did. Although it is difficult to come to this point, it is possible!
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the biggest mistakes you've done with Bitcoin? on: May 13, 2024, 07:22:18 PM
As the topic says, What are the biggest mistakes you've done with Bitcoin?

I'm trying to gather just a list on things that have gone wrong. This can be terrible backup stories, client hacks, reversing at MtGox and such.
I don't want to gather a list of hacks of commercial sites in particular because there are plenty of information on that already.

I will post everything I find on this very simple website:
http://sites.google.com/site/whoissatoshi/bitcoin-mistakes

Don't be shy!

EDIT: Please add some context, interesting details etc to make it a nice story.
The worst thing is to forget the password to a wallet that has a lot and a little... 15 btc
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: April 24, 2024, 08:37:39 PM
Court sentences mother, son to 7 years imprisonment and what did they do? Court sentences mother, son to 7 years imprisonment

The mother and the son after gambling away 5.6 million naira, that is about $8,000. When the reality dawned on them, they gave false information in petition, accusing someone of fraudulently transferring the fund from their Opay account to the sport betting account without their authorization.

Unfortunately, I have an example of a friend who is addicted to playing poker for money. The last thing that happened to him was that he was specially filmed before the game, where he promised that he would not blame anyone if he lost, and as a result, after he lost everything he had with him, he just started screaming and crying and asked for his money back.
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: April 24, 2024, 08:13:11 PM
There was a friend of mine who visited me a day after and he was saying gambling every day draws you more closer to winning.

I asked him how?

He said when you keep trying luck every day you stand the chance not to miss your luck of winning, he also made reference to few people around our locality who won outrageous Money within 31 Dec to 1 January 2024, asking if I knew how often those people keep trying for them to have the winning they got.

I said No! He then say the more you space the more I missed my chances of winning but what I came to understand is that, the more anyone keeps trying the slimmer such persons turns into gambling addiction becus such person will always want to gamble regularly stirring up some forms of pressure to himself. When there is no money to gamble such person don't mind going extramile to source for funds since he has install this mentality of regularly gambling without giving break.

My question is do you think gambling every day is better? From his reasoning and points of narrations.
I definitely don't support the game every day. I think this strategy is definitely a losing one. It's just an excuse for addiction.
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: Favourite free steam games. on: November 27, 2023, 09:42:50 AM
What are your favorite and Free games available on steam?
My favourite free-to-play game is PUBG, but for me it's a game that requires a very good PC to play comfortably. My PC used to be good, but after many updates it became impossible to play. 60 fps and drops of up to 10))))
