2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: May 16, 2024, 06:50:07 PM
Nobody wants Real Madrid to win another CL except for Madrid fans.
Because they has up to 14 and dortmund need it more than them
It's good that Dortmund's fans are behind the players. But that's not really relevant when half of the Webmley staduim is going to be filled with celebrities and iShowSpeed youtuber types anyway. The fans will really not be able to do anything to help them in the final, so it's up to the players to stop them.

I don't have my hopes up though. It's gonna be like that Man City vs Inter final last year, won't it.

well I decided to bet on Real Madrid so I basically support Real Madrid
I am certainly not a fan, but I like the team: how they play, their philosophy, they have a coach who I respect and respect

So for me it is natural to support the Spanish team between the two Smiley and i think RM win the cup

1.63 odd is very good for Real Madrid and they will win any of their opponents because they are the best

6  Economy / Reputation / Re: Get 201 merits in 2 months from a farm on: April 03, 2024, 06:44:54 AM
I don't really understand the context for this thread or may I missing something, so they added new rules that doesn't permit a post to receive more than a specific number of merits ?

Secondly, how is this related to agbe winning the pie contest ? I really don't get the problem , if his pie wasn't worthy then why was it pick to be in the pool selection in the first place? And moreover there is a reason it's called voting, it's a free choice of vote so far as the pie itself is pick or you can better explain how voting works.

I understand that success always draws attention of other people so it's obvious. Like lovemayfamilies said go check out the Bangladesh, Pakistan local then you would see post that says HI or HELLO receive merits and also have you seen the WO thread.
7  Other / Meta / Re: [Theymos] To reduce tension from adding more merits source on: March 28, 2024, 06:36:29 AM
My only problem with the whole system is how some group of person claims to be an elite group and still abuse the system they are bragging so graciously to protect.

What I mean, is how they tend to give themselves merits on post and replies that don't make sense but charge and use it against other normal users that lack such reputation. I mean have you being to the reputation board of lately? Users are actually slandered for meriting themselves and charged with case of abusing merit within themselves whereas they are free to do @merit-cycling-gangs of Bitcointalk 🙄🙄
8  Economy / Reputation / Re: [v2][Self Moderated] In Merits, Count Down To Your Next Rank... on: March 24, 2024, 06:30:25 AM
So sad, it's seem merit source that help out in this thread no longer have any interest or have decided to go cold. after going through previous page of the thread it's seem active users that help out like @the cryptovator, yahoo62278, Ratimov and other merit source have abandoned the thread if not there are loads of applications that need merit and some of these folks are actually good posters too.

Limitations or scalability issues with the Bitcoin network

ChatGPT
The Bitcoin network faces several limitations and scalability issues:

(*Transaction Throughput: Bitcoin's block size limit restricts the number of transactions the network can process per block, leading to congestion during times of high demand.
Transaction Fees: Congestion often results in higher transaction fees as users compete for space in blocks, making small transactions less economical.
Confirmation Times: As the network becomes congested, transaction confirmation times can increase, leading to delays in processing transactions.
Energy Consumption: Bitcoin mining requires significant computational power, leading to high energy consumption, which has environmental implications.
Centralization Concerns: The concentration of mining power in certain geographic regions or within a few large mining pools raises concerns about the decentralization of the network.
Layer 2 Solutions: While solutions like the Lightning Network aim to alleviate some of these scalability issues by enabling off-chain transactions, adoption and usability challenges remain.
Addressing these limitations requires ongoing research and development efforts within the Bitcoin community to improve scalability while maintaining the network's security and decentralization principles)* THIS IS CHAT GTP, DO PROPER FINDINGS BEFORE TRYING TO IMPLICATE SOMEONE
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Limitations or scalability issues with the Bitcoin network on: February 09, 2024, 05:42:07 PM
One of the main challenges is the transaction processing capacity. Currently, the Bitcoin network can handle a limited number of transactions per second, which can result in delays and higher fees during periods of high demand. This limitation has led to the development of solutions like the Lightning Network, which aims to improve scalability by enabling faster and cheaper off-chain transactions. Another challenge is the environmental impact of Bitcoin mining. The process of mining requires a significant amount of computational power and energy consumption, which can have negative implications for the environment. However, it's important to note that the Bitcoin community is continuously working on addressing these challenges to enhance the network's scalability and overall performance.what do you think?
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could bitcoin become extinct? on: February 08, 2024, 10:29:50 PM
There are a number of reasons why this is impossible .  Firstly, Bitcoin offers a decentralized system, which means it's not controlled by any central authority. This gives people more control over their own money. Additionally, Bitcoin provides security through cryptography, making it difficult to hack or counterfeit. It also offers privacy, as transactions are pseudonymous. Lastly, the limited supply of Bitcoin creates scarcity, which can drive up its value. It has a strong network and widespread adoption, which helps ensure its survival. Plus, its decentralized nature makes it resilient to external factors.
These factors have contributed to Bitcoin's success and popularity.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETFs - Good or Bad? on: January 26, 2024, 01:24:03 PM
I think that without a Bitcoin ETF, the process of investing in Bitcoin may be slightly more complex for traditional investors who are accustomed to investing through regulated financial instruments like ETFs. They would need to navigate the world of cryptocurrency exchanges, wallets, and private keys.
However, it's worth mentioning that even without a Bitcoin ETF, there are already alternative investment products available in the market that provide exposure to Bitcoin. For example, there are Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) and other similar investment trusts that allow investors to indirectly invest in Bitcoin
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving effect on: January 26, 2024, 01:04:50 PM
Taking a deep dive,  In the past, Bitcoin halving events have often been followed by periods of increased demand and price appreciation. This is because the reduced supply can create a sense of scarcity and increase the perceived value of each Bitcoin. However, it's important to note that past performance is not indicative of future results, and the market can be influenced by various factors.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Can bitcoin completely erase the Traditional Banking System? on: January 23, 2024, 02:58:44 PM
For one, I would say that moreover that Bitcoin has gained popularity and also disrupted the financial industry , it is only safe to say that it is unlikely to replace the traditional banking system in the nearest future. I mean , mortgages , loans and financial services are functions that are carried out by these traditional banking systems. But then, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have the potential to provide alternative options and challenge certain aspects of the traditional banking system .. What do you think?
16  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is Investing into crypto really safe? on: January 22, 2024, 02:11:57 PM
Cryptocurrency investment can come with risks, just like any other form of investment oh.. carrying out thorough research , understanding the market dynamics and most of all taking cautionary measures against potential scammers are all things you should look out for. Many people have found success in cryptocurrency investments with proper knowledge and caution .. Just try your best to invest what you can afford to lose and also diversify your portfolio … you’d be a stone-throw away from making progress
17  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: WHY ARE NIGERIANS UNHAPPY on: January 22, 2024, 02:04:09 PM
This question conveys a lot of opinions. Whilst some people would blame it on the state of the economy or the bad leadership or some might go as far as saying the political juggernauts at the top are responsible for the state of the nation, I would personally like to see this situation is emanating in a chronic manner as a result of the overconsumption of other people’s lives. This , I’d like to say is the root reason because if everyone can learn to overlook how classy and prosperous others are and instead focus on what you have and strife to achieve your own goals instead of trying to live or mimic someone’s lifestyle, I believe things are practically going to get better .:: for me, happiness is a choice and how you chose to achieve it depends on what happiness truly means to you
So if I ask you why are Nigerians unhappy you no fit just talk am without thinking abi? Let's not allow some people wash our head with plenty religious talks. Guy there is hunger in the land that's why Nigerians are not happy. There is insecurity, joblessness, epileptic electricity, no clean water to drink. These things are what's making us Nigerians to be unhappy.
So what would an Afghan say about this statement …. Nigerians over exaggerate things and that’s the major issue here … There are countries worse than us in terms of the above listed but we always have a way of not being content, feeding on peoples life and becoming sardonic about it and worse of all, everyone just wants to get rich and they want it quickly
18  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / IF NOT FOR GARRI: Drop your story on: January 22, 2024, 01:51:28 PM

19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin in 2024; What are your opinions? on: January 21, 2024, 03:31:15 PM
Considering the increasing interest from institutional investors, what impact do you think it will have on the overall value and perception of Bitcoin in 2024?
I for one, personally think that Institutional investors have the potential to significantly impact the value and perception of Bitcoin in 2024. Their involvement brings more legitimacy and stability to the market, which can attract more investors and increase overall confidence in Bitcoin. As institutional adoption grows, it could potentially lead to a higher demand for Bitcoin, driving up its value. It's an exciting development that could shape the future of Bitcoin!
What do you think?
20  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: WHY ARE NIGERIANS UNHAPPY on: January 20, 2024, 02:13:05 PM
You want to be happy and then remain in your current position if I may ask you don't you know that reason why most are not happy is because of the economy situation hitting hard on everyone's life beside let say if the country where to be good enough whom do you think would be unhappy. Sometimes people doesn't remain unhappy because of no money or bad government there is some possible things that can make man unhappy in a family or as a single individuals we are these includes;

1. Lack of proper feeding
2. No shelter
3. No clothes
4. No friends around you
5. Your lover disappoint you
6. No Good job
7. You lost your love ones
8. No family relatives wants to help you
9. No business works out for you
10. No Good skills as a man.

There are more things which I would have loved to include here but maybe we can have them from others.

I think I’d contradict with this because even in developed countries like the United States of America , where all these above listed rescources are available , people are still unhappy… that’s I concluded with saying it’s a choice ….. even most people with all the financial security in the world are still unhappy…
